Even in this horribly written version of Seravok he still has some of the honor the original character did

Though I do like the nostalgia of having him back (and make no mistake, I was gleeful when I first saw him in my original playthrough), my issue with this version of Sarevok is that it didn't quite stick to the lore of of the original Baldur's Gate games. For instance: In the "end credits" for the character in ToB, his final fate was described. If you conversed with him correctly, you could even convert him to Chaotic Good alignment. In my view: This version of Sarevok throws away a lot of development he underwent in ToB.
Now I will cut the people that wrote him for this game a bit of slack, since they deliberately left a lot of the BG1+2 decisions a bit nebulous for the purpose of "gamer continuity" which I'm cool with. But I've always taken issue with the notion that "Bhaal brought him back in these husked forms" when that isn't the case: Part of how Sarevok returned was that he took a piece of Imoen's (or the PCs) soul to return him to life. It wasn't Bhaal that brought him back and that always didn't quite jive with me personally. It was even stated in the game that the small shard that was given to him precluded him from ever wielding Bhaal's power again, and that he was a Bhaalspawn "in name only", as he could no longer inherit the Throne of Blood.
I also take issue with his now incestuous relationships to further the glory of Bhaal, when Sarevok in the original games was not so much a worshiper of Bhaal as he was a worshiper of himself. He sought to BECOME the Lord of Murder, not serve him. It was also clear in BG1 and BG2:ToB that he had one love in his life: Tamoko. So to me, all this connecting Orin and Sarevok felt a little haphazard/not well thought out. I would have preferred if they had made Orin more of her own character than trying to "tack her on" to on of Baldur's Gate's most infamous villains for the purposes of bringing him back.
That's my opinion, though make no mistake: I'd rather have a poorly written version of him in the game than not at all. =P He is after all one of the most badass villains ever, and some of his lines in BG3 still give me goosebumps. xD

@@crazedmike9907 Imagine if the redeemed sarevok was a character you could meet, it would've been amazing in a light urge playthrough

@@crazedmike9907 I totally agree with you, i made a video about it (but in Italian).
At least they added Sarevok but... well you said my same things so xD
I'd liked to redeemed him somehow anyway
