It isn't Israel that is the target, it is the US. Iran hates the US far more than Israel. Iran resistance to total US influence in the middle East is unacceptable to the US as is Russia and more recently China. The weakening of US global dominance is emboldening the greater powers held in check for the last 90 years. Multipolar power is the great fear of the West as it introduces uncertainty into global markets and heralds another period of uncontrolled large wars (not small proxy wars). Punching Israel in the face presents the US with a dilemma; enter a fight they do not want right now, or show weakness and leave Israel to deal with it themselves.

Let's not sugar coat things here, Hamas has essentially doomed itself as a medium to large scale organization. Before the recent attacks invading the Gaza strip was not worth the resources it would take up from Israel's perspective. Now, a full on military invasion is inevitable. The only question in this is how many Palestinian civilians will get caught up in all this. Provoking the Israeli's is an extremely poor decision. While they don't have a massive population the Israeli military is both extremely capable and well equipped.

      This assumes two things:
      1) The IDF will prevail in destroying Hamas quickly. Israel occupied southern Lebanon for 18 YEARS and could not destroy Hezbollah. Gaza is much smaller, Hamas is much weaker, but if you don't think every abled bodied man and unfortunately, boy, will sign up to kill Israeli soldiers at the first opportunity, you're delusional.
      2) This does not escalate. I feel it's extremely likely that Hezbollah and Iran are essentially waiting for the quagmire to begin to then open up a new front when Israel is distracted and focusing on Gaza. Hell, a West Bank uprising could accomplish the same thing.

For sure they are an extremist and fundamentalist organization, but if you look at the disgruntled Palestinians in the wake of the Oslo Accords, who felt like Fatah gave up on nearly all the most important issues, is the turn to extremism surprising? When you’re secular leadership sells your people down the river, I think it’s understandable for people to turn their sympathy towards a group that doesn’t accept the capitulation of Palestine red lines. Not to mention that for 15 years Hamas have been the only ones protecting ordinary Palestinians when they March to the Israeli constructed wall, and proceed to get sniped by IDF soldiers.

This is a hard one for you to understand, but I urge to to try. It is possible to address moral issues without going into history to the beginning of time. All the most intractable disputes have this one thing in common: that one side or the other focuses on past grudges instead of the future. Try a different approach to this, and all other disputes.

I couldn't watch the whole thing :( level of bias in the begining of the video is stunning. It is horrible to see people legitimising Israel commiting genocide. I usually like visual politic, it may be not really nuanced but at least you try to do some reserch. Not this time. Israel is keeping hostiges, every arrested Palestinian on illegally occupied land (by international law Israeli ocupation is exactly as legal as what Putin is doeing in Ukraine). Imaigne Palestine with no Hamas, like in the West Bank. Israel there locks people in open air cages , invigilates them on unprecedentid scale , harras and humiliate them for years and you expect us to go with narrative of "Besicly it is ISIS type organisation barbaricly slaughtering defencless cilians". By supporting that narrative you rationalise unjust and disproportional response. Cuting of water, besiging cities. These are warcrimes.

Ok, so Hamas doesn't accept the "two state" solution, but one thing is also certain: annexing new lands in the Gaza strip and expelling Palestinians from their land also doesn't contribute for peace and prosperity. Also, it is quite shocking how Israeli defenses were so ill prepared for such an attack.

Terrorism is defined as “the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.” Meaning the bombing of the border between Gaza and Egypt, hospitals and more is terrorism. So stating Hamas is like ISIS is not accurate. Second, they take speculation and make it appear as a fact (Iran planned this), which has not been confirmed by any agency or government. Yes, Iran funds it but reports showed Iran was taken aback by this as well. Third, they explain Hamas, but never state that it was birthed and grew in part by Israel, meaning it is a self inflicted wound. Fourth, they mention the 2 state solution and how Israel basically acted against it almost immediately (Oslo accords). I can go on but honestly debating online is awful.@@danorkin51

That is also the truth, the army is the glue of nation, Jews duruz Christians Muslims men and women serve together from office jobs to fighter pilots its Total quality, and the government is totally disconnected from the people trying to divide them all. 😢

Then Al-Qaeda started its very presence by USA and funded by Saudi to act for US benefit in the region and take political advantage from GCC countries. Then now we're talking about Hamas and we forget that they have been elected there and also Israel attacked Palestine a few weeks before this attack. And tbh, this issue will not be resolved by comments on RUclips. People are divided and no one is listening to the other due to severe level of brutality from wither side. Are you insane if you think the October 7th was anything other than a terrorist attack perpetrated by terrorist.
Pulling women and children out of cars to execute them in the street is terrorism. Shooting indiscriminately into a field of concert goers is terrorism. Stripping, raping, executing a German tourist and then posing with her naked body as you sit on top of it is terrorism.
Israel has absolutely been too heavy handed in Gaza and the West Bank. But it’s hard for the international community to convince Israel’s security concerns are unfounded when Hamas and Hezbollah are consistently lobbing rockets into Israel. And when the underlying narrative isn’t just that Israel is “occupying” Gaza and the West Bank, but that Israel is “occupying” *ALL* of Palestinians’ rightful land.

Great analysis! I think you touched on something very important that had mostly gone ignored: the part Russia role in this. Aside from talking about how it plays into Putin's hand, here's are a few things that would point to this:
    - Hamas has already asked Putin to act as a mediator. This will give Putin political points to continue the war
    - Add to this the fact that Hamas officials had visited Moscow twice this year, which itself was suspicious enough
    - Russian reconnaissance spacecraft was moved to Israel's geostationary orbit days before the attack, which likely used to help Hamas with recon. What makes it more convincing are the joint space projects by Iran and Russia, and Iran's role is already undeniable
    - Russia has sent western trophy weapons taken from Ukraine to Hamas and has carried out a very well organized disinformation campaign that UA is selling weapons. Even Putin has pushed this lie in an interview with the desired effect to reduce support to UA
    - The attack happened on Putin's birthday. And before you laugh, in Russia it is a long running tradition. E.g. Politkovskaya's assassination on Putin's birthday
    - Many people notice that Hamas has been using many tactics uncharacteristic for them. Ukrainian special services claim that Warger had a hand in their training, which is not unlikely given their Middle East activity

I wonder what Iran gets from Russia in return for supplying drones, missiles, weapons and ammunition?
I know Iran would love some Su-57s, but Russia needs every piece of equipment for itself and in the next few years, especially when it comes to modern technology like the SU-57.
The only thing I can think of that Russia has a lot of and that Iran desperately wants are nukes and/or knowledge of nuclear weapons.

Wow, the one sided bias of this video, the use of terminology and omission of details is striking. This guy is not increasing your understanding, he's narrowing it.
Difficult to know where to begin. His opening section starts by focusing solely on the terrorist act by Hamas, and detailing the gory details. He omits that this attack was a culmination of decades long antagonism between Israel and Palestine during which Israel has also committed acts of terror, intimidation and oppression against the Palestinian people, including literally taking over people's homes while Palestinians were away.
I can't list the numerous events, but since people seem to like mentioning body counts, currently the Israeli have murdered far more Palestinians than Hamas has Israelis.
Yes Hamas have stated they want to wipe out the people they see as invaders, but it is also well known that Netenyahu and his associates wish to wipe out not just Hamas, but all Palestinians.
He also omits that both the USA and the IDF were aware of an upcoming attack, but did nothing and/or were slow to respond.
Netenyahu faces opposition from within his country by people who wish to live peacefully alongside Palestinians. The majority of this group of people tend to be younger and more liberal, the types of people who would attend, say, a music festival.
The Hamas attack gave Netenyahu the excuse to do what he has always wanted to do.
Isis organised terror activities in foreign countries. Hamas commits them against an aggressive fundemantist Israeli government, with financial support from USA, who have their own goals.
Also, nobody needs a VPN for cyber security. Yeah if you want to watch another countries netflix but not security.

But correct me if I'm mistaken, wasn't it Israel who started building illegal settlements beyond the 1967 borders who are recognized by the UN? Wasn't it Pipi and his ultra-orthodox government who walked away from any peace talks and any abandoned the two-state solution? The west bank is ruled by the Palestinian Liberation Authority, who contrary to their names actually believe in two-state solution, and guess what, Israel continuously attacks and harass palestinian lands and citizens. Evenmore, Gaza has been the world largest prison, with poverty, limited food, education and healthcare for decades, a ripe environment for radicalisation that was only created by Israel. I'm Egyptian, and I'm telling you peace with Israel is impossible.
