Far fetched, you still need a lens to capture the image to manipulate… also its ‘machine learning” not “machine leaning” and its “neural networks” not neutral networks 😮
I dont' think so. Machine "learning" and "neural networks" are so 2023. I should have taken the time to explain. These systems are so computationally intensive that the additional heat generated is excessive. By leaning the machines, a greater upper surface area allows more heat to dissappate. This was first demonstrated by the architect Bernoulli in Pisa.
Neutral networks evolved to address the know deficiencies in AlGoreRhythms that seem to provide precedence to certain skin coloours. Hope this helps, thanks for commenting.
whooosh
@@MaartenHeilbron you have confused me even more
@@MaartenHeilbron Its April the 1st...nice Aprils fools day satire\joke
You and Victor Wembanyama?
I hear Canon’s virtual lens line will still be RF and closed to third parties. The cameras will also be directly attached to actual clouds for cloud-based photography.
Being attached to clouds will enable you to look at clouds from both sides, so I'm in favour.
Dear friend, why is the video shot so poorly, or are you already shooting without a lens?
According to Sony, smartphones will be the ones that will shoot better than DSLRs and mirrorless cameras in a couple of years.
This is what awaits us in the near future!
Near future? This is today my friend. As for the video quality, I should have explained that while I'm charging my electric car the lights dim in our house. We only have 100 amp service and there's a load balancer.
A camera without a lens is like RUclips without Maarten Heilbron.
Aww, you're making me very emotional.
Een knuffel en een schouderklop voor je, prachtvent! Alle goeds uit de lage landen.
Hartelijk dank voor uw intelligente en betekenisvolle complimenten, ze worden hier in de ijskoude noorden landen gewaardeerd.
😊@@MaartenHeilbron
Good to see you Maarten. A reminder that Spring is just around the corner. Thanks
Yes, always remember that March showers bring April flowers.
Breaking huge news here, big tech won't be happy with you revealing their secrets :D
This is why I don't beleive in conspiracy theories. No one can keep a secret for long.
I was hoping that going forward all photos would be round to match the lenses.
I still don't understand how (or why) they get rectangular images from round lenses. It's a mystery, particularly if you consider that Bermuda is a triangle.
Hi Maarten
I always enjoy the videos you make at this time of year. Thanks for making me smile and reminding me what day it is 🙂
Always happy to assist the calendrically challenged.
You got me good! I was envisioning the new lineup of virtual Fuji SUVs and planning a roadtrip to Baja. Any hint on the ground clearance?
Depends on whether you have the shutter sounds on or off. Either way, not recommended for off-roading.
Next patent is on the way, zoom-able nanolenses for a zoom range 120 degrees to 1 degree field of view. But there are some obstacles, mainly camera makers have to accept getting rid of their bajonet, and control circuit for zooming. Too big to integrate into a camera, Samsung doesn't want to integrate it into a microchip, so I have to ask Sony or NVIDIA. But I am positive, next year on April 1st, everything has been ruled out. 😮😮😮
Yes, it will be interesting to see who's ruling next year.
I also own a unique camera system. It doesn't have any storage card or so, but have a virtual one. It does have capacity and speed like actual one, just with a difference, instead of writing speed its called upload speed. No problem to share to any device, media, plateform or such. Do you know what brand it is? Its FCONPH 😅. Wishes for the day.
Thanks, I wish it were more widely available.
You are so right in predicting lens less cameras. But, it's not so easy: patent filed today, my invention claims nanolenses extremely close to the sensor. You can exchange these and all you need is like a protective cover like a body cap, but made of saphire Glas, to prevent scratches.
Absolutely - I didn't stop to think what happens when a virtual lens is scratched!
Looks like you went for a quasi -Noir style here. Hey, I have that Keystone. Well, probably. It looks like the Executive. But will I be able to get a virtual camera that get girls to talk to me? Will there be a deluxe model with fins? Will there be an ASMR version that calms my split ends? Thanks for this mini classic upload.
I was really going for ersatz-noir, but quasi is close I guess. It's a K-48 BelAir. As for girls, I'm sure they'll want to hear all about how lens-less cameras work. It's likely that all models will have fins for aerodynamic reasons. I can tell you from experience that split ends do not respond favourably to ASMR. Otherwise, thanks, a pleasure to read your intelligent and thoughtful questions along with your kind words.
Al Gore's rhythms! LAUGH! ISO 14,204! Brilliant!
Who said white men can't dance? Thanks for your kind and humourous comment.
As the fool's day comes to a close where I stay, I wish you have a wonderful fool's day!
Thanks, have been having a very enjoyable morning replying to my viewers interesting, humourous and kind comments.
And the best part is you will be able to pay for it with virtual crypto isn't science grand.
So, using girl math they're actually free?
But I think there are some studies about "lenseless" cameras/sensors...
There should be, thanks for pointing that out.
I like how people become really generous on April 1st every year about spilling unspoken secrets. Thanks for doing your part, Maarten * salute emoji *
Thanks, I'm always clumsy in the spring. I'll have it cleaned up shortly.
Pfff ... Lenses - who needs 'em anyway? We don't need no stinkin' lenses where we're going!
I thought I was the only one to notice that lenses were starting to smell funny.
Nice April Fools Day joke! Thanks 😂🤣😅
Always a pleasure to hear from an astute viewer.
I just spoke with my Leica rep regarding these lensless cameras and he claims that Leica and Panasonic will issue a "common" format that will be backwards compatible with existing lenses, making the new cameras fully "lensed" lensless cameras. Can't wait.
PS, the naming regime for these lenses will be "vapor-elmarit" for standard lens and Insanilux for the high speed version.
Thanks for the inside info - greatly appreciated.
One of your best!
That is kindly appreciated, thanks!
Now we'll just wait vendors to implement it :)
I always enjoy a good implementation after lunch.
Nice try indeed 😁 As ever always nice to listen to you
Thanks, I appreciate your kind words.
Nice reminder of April Fool's Day 😂
It just sneaks up on you if you're not careful.
What a terrifying future lies ahead of us...
I know, it's getting hard to find a peaceful spot for a nap these days.
I wish I had the eloquence you have, your words and rhythm are so impeccable that I follow this channel even I don't have a particular interest on the topic. But what a pleasure hear you speak.
Also, you got me for the first minute thinking about the lensless cameras 😅
A pleasure to read your kind words, and to hear from a viewer who shares my sense of humour.
Tomorrow: Lensless cameras.
Next: Senseless cameras!
There are already several models that fit that description.
Does this technology still use sea moss?
Correct, always nice to hear from viewers who can connect the dots.
Happy April Fools day to you too Maarten!!!
Thank you, I'm very calendar-attentive.
Now remind me, what day is it today?
Time to change the battery in your calendar?
April 1st or reality? 🤡/🤔
Let Me Ask Google For You
I think we can make it a "date" :)
I love dates, in fact most dried fruits.
Awesome best one of the day 😂
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for the kind words.
That’s awesome! 😂😂😂
Thanks for being on the right side of history.
Al Gore's rhythms!!
That explains everything, doesn't it?
Owning things is so XX century.
With the exception of real estate.
It's April 1st, isn't it?
According to my self-winding Timex with the calendar complication, it is!
Happy April 1 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I'm always happy. Thanks!!
Happy April 1st day
It's just another happy day around here. You too!!
Maarten, are you OK?
First please ask yourself, have I ever been okay?
Haha! Good one!
Always nice to know that viewers share my sense of humour.
Nice one, Maarten. Haha

April fools!
In French it's April Fish - which probably isn't as funny.
Very good! 😂
Nice to see you share my sense of humour.
Great!😂😂😂
Thanks!!
Have you seen the video for Artisanal Firewood? 👀
Also, Artisanal Water.
I'll look for those on my new Artisanal iPhone powered by Toronto Hydro's new Artisanal Alternating Current electricity. Thanks for participating in the fun.
@@MaartenHeilbron "Artisanal A/C electricity" -- does that mean that someone is manually turning the alternator at a steady 60 times per second?
I believe they're using windmills that pump water from a sustainable source into tanks which are gravity-fed into hand-built small-batch generators operated by a diverse group of living-wage full-time home-schooled employees with up to 60 days of annual sick leave and generous health benefits housed in an organic farming commune architected by Frank Lloyd Wright and LeCorbusier. They also make excellent beer.
@@MaartenHeilbron That sounds sufficiently Artisanal, yes.
OK I'll buy that story. 😉
I should have mentioned that it's owned by a conglomerate named Cargill?
ahh took me till around the 2 minute mark to realize the date! nice one!
That's about average according to other comments.
@@MaartenHeilbron I looked at the video title and I thought: "I see what you did there". 😉
Interesting. I do try to leave a sufficient number of clues.
LOL!
Thanks. For those not in on this joke - LOL means "laughing out loud".
Ha, ha, ha, brilliant! 😂
Thank you, always nice to know that viewers appreciate my work.
Thanks for the info! I really can't wait to buy the virtual lens adaptor. it is brilliant.
I know, right? Photography will be so much more fun!
Great stuff! Ha,ha! It's the 1st of April once again!
I'm glad that this is now a regular calendar feature.

Gald to see you enjoyed.

Thanks for the kind emoji.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Appreciated!
Nicely done. Enjoyed it🤗
Always nice to hear from viewers who share my sense of humour
I'm ashamed to say that you got me. I sat through the entire thing thinking "what is he on about and why on earth isn't he using a studio light of some sort" and then the closing comments gave me clarity. Thanks Maarten.
Thanks, I should have explained about the lighting. I was charging my electric car and because we only have 100 amp service we had to install a load balancer which dims the lights while the car is charging.
@@MaartenHeilbron best I've got is an electric lawnmower.
I'm planning to get one this summer, right after they install the electric lawn.
Apparently @MaartenHeilbron has a dark side.
