  • The Nude Tour was a greatest hits concert by American recording artist Prince. While the previous LoveSexy tour drew critical praise, the high cost of the concert tour production was a financial disappointment. Prince eliminated much of the excess of the previous tour. To be as cost effective as possible, Prince decided not to tour in the U.S.

I've always viewed this concert tour book as a kind of tribute to Prince's achievements up until that point, like a recap of his 80s work, success. Really great photos and insight into his office, studios, etc. tours, even outfits! It was like a celebration before there ever was a 'Prince: A Celebration'! Well designed too for the time, hip modern design aesthetic. I had a huge poster of the red patent leather photos, I think it was a tour poster, matching, with an overlay of 'PRINCE' it was stunning poster. Graffiti Bridge was also in some ways a best of unreleased music also. Nude in my interpretation meant to strip something down, to it's essence, coming off of Lovesexy, it made sense also, as Graffiti Bridge was a kind of continuance of the Lovesexy idea maybe even a landing point to move onto other ideas and directions, a reset if you will, like Prince did dramatically in Diamonds & Pearls.

Yes, this is one of, if not the best of the tour books in the post Purple Rain time. Will be adding other pictorial videos, ascwee. Thanks for watching!

@@PrinceInvestigationFile5 you’re welcome thanks for the reply! The cover of the tour book that picture I don’t know if you have it in your collection but it was one of the best posters I have ever had in my collection. It was so beautiful Heidi detailed really large and on the top of the glossy was PRINCE in an opaque see through treatment across the whole stretch of the poster in the Batman style font - type face. I loved it. It’s one of those that I regret not ever framing to tell you the truth! From that time also. I don’t know if they sold it on the new tour but I kind of have a date of 1989 so I don’t could be that it was a poster promotional for Batman. You know Jeff Katz Has probably even more photos from my photo session and his archives!
      Triggered memory:
I bought it on Melrose Avenue back in the day at a store that was there called the rock shop. In that store they sold a lot of promotional and very rare rock history music industry stuff. One of the collectibles what is one of the very astonishing collectibles I saw there was the Love sexy Eye No outfit. Complete with heart on the sleeve and you can see the little straps at the leg opening so you know it was 100% original I don’t know who bought it exactly but the owner told me later that he sold it to a wealthy couple husband bought it for his wife as a gift or something. Rave!

@modernaire3606 Yes, the owner of that store started selling his things online after Prince passed! That Nude tourbook, and the LS tourbook in my collection came from him. He told me that he had the blue and white ☁️ suit before! He said Prince donated it for children's charity originally. He was getting up in years, and was selling all the surplus he had in his house! He told me he had a store on Melrose!!! I do not have the Nude poster but the paper and print quality looked to be exceptional. The Rainbow Children is the follow up to LoveSexy! I am not sure about that album, what to think about it. Do you listen to Rainbow Children?

@@PrinceInvestigationFile5 WOA!! That's the guy! He's a tall Anglo guy, he was mellow and very cool, hip back in the day! I was a regular about from '89 to '91 or so. I paid $40 for that Batman Red Yellow poster, the paper top quality, the ONLY poster I regret selling I had a bunch. Really good stuff.
That's an additional bit of information on the Eye No suit, how great is that! Thanks for that background information, small purple world!
I haven't listened to The Rainbow Children in years, and proabbly won't. I don't have the album. I don't know if I have mentioned it to you, but me, I, focus mostly on his very early work, debut album through the Gold Experience, the WB-PP years, then I thought Prince was going through regaining his purple mojo about from the AOA-P&M eras. He had become weird, funky, strange, again, all in a good way.
In my view, Rainbow Children is in NO WAY a follow up nor related to Lovesexy. Totally different eras, time in his life, creative vision, etc. In no way am I saying your views are wrong, art is ope3n to interpretation, but I really do not, however think they are related.
Really, view it this way, Lovesexy was spiritual, transcendental, Glam Slam Escape: 'transcend the physical!', versus The Rainbow Children Prince was RELIGIOUS. He was establishing his views and creativity on organized religion. It was stoic, it was dogma driven, from the scriptures, it was stiffling, held captive you iknow what I mean?
Whereas Lovesexy, he was FREE. Liberated, spiritually blissful, highly creaive with NO boundaries.
Look at the Paisley Park official fashion book, they show more photos in that, from Lovesexy photo sessions, he was physcially outside... his clothes, hair long, free, almsot a mirage... vanishing but there... it's crazy I know but during the Rianbow and into ONA, dude, he was like a Funk Preacher! Alll up to his neck covered up, geeky hair, tailoring was amiss, looked slick but something was off.
Anyway, I can talk Prince all day.
Listen to the music, what do both albums make you feel?
Rave '89 and Graffiti Bridge were really the follow ups to Lovseexy, but even LS was the OTHER side to C-CB-SOTT-BA!

@@Modernaire I totally agree with you! That was why I got Rainbow Children but it was not at all the same! Thank you for the insights, I was asking to see if any music has that LS feel to it! I didn't think I was going to buy it, but the possiblity that it was the LS follow up, so of course I had to get it at that idea. I feel that same way, as you said it was not free flowing, and uninhibited which is Prince at this best.
