Today we have a request and it is to put the Akira Class in the Delta Quadrant.
How will it fair against the Kazon Nistrum?
This will be a serious challenge, the Kazon have brought a large number of ships to intercept the Akira.

If any fight deserves a redo, this is it. First, it was epic. Secondly the fact that you got taken out by the enemy ship exploding was fate cheesing out the game. It's almost as if fate was using cheat codes.

I'd really like the Akira class. it looks really good but I got to give that to the Akira class. I think it probably would have won that easily.
I think this deserves a rematch. It was close.
Also, the thought of a Quantum Torpedo armed Akira is scary.
I do like the NX class. I know some people don't, and it has its problems, but I think given the vacuum between 2063 and the 2250s it's a decent filler, and it's a pretty ship. I know what they were going with for names, naming the NX ships after the shuttles (Enterprise for the prototype, Columbia for the first production model, Challenger, Discovery, Atlantis and Endeavour) but we have so many ships named Enterprise. It's a great name for a ship nonetheless but...
Also, I know it's certainly not canon, in the book Spaceflight Chronology, the ships of the 2150s are sort of going for a saucer without a detached engineering section IIRC. But then in that book the Connie was launched in the 2180s.
Need to pull your finger out mate. Voyager destroyed a Predator with literally two or three torpedoes!
Voyager used high yield Photon torpedoes each containing 5 class 6 warheads and 3 torpedoes she was a Multimission explorer not just a Science vessel as so many claim.

Great battle, cheers for showing. Two requests I’d like to see - Akira vs Hirogen (just more Akira vs Delta Quad in general), and also - Do you think you could an RGB Akira at some point? Basically, slightly better shields, phasers (type XII?) and quantum torpedoes. Its armour is already pretty tough tbf. My head canon tells me that’s what we would’ve got at the end of the Dominion War and in Nemesis.

I read the specs and supposed to have same armaments as the Nebula class.. maybe in the game only put that in.. *launchers: 15 (3 forward-lower saucer, 6 aft-weapons pod, 1 port side-saucer, 1 starboard side-saucer, 4 forward-weapons pod) photon: 220 quantum: 250 tri cobalt: 10 and Hellfire torps. hmm and 32 attack fighters.. hmmm.. The side firing torps are very similar to the port and starboard weapons on Klingon Academy.
Starfleet doesn't build warships.

Definitely think in this case targeting a Predator would have made the difference. In your earlier battles, when one explodes it cripples or destroys the Kazon raiders and would do a good amount of damage to the other Predator. Just have to get some distance from it with the killing blow.
Heck, that was close! If the Akira had stronger shields or quantum's, it would have been different 🖖
The Akira surprised me.
Few ships can kick butt and take names with photon torpedo barrage, like the Akira.

I thought you were going to pull off that first battle. I've never played bridge commander, but how fast can you do a quick warp? That might outrun the blast (now I'm getting flashbacks of Wrath of Khan 😆).

They literally wanted to just use the Akira as the NX. That's not a joke, they really did and not even explain why.
You should put a Kazon raider against a shuttle, just like the episode of Voyager with Nogs actor in it

The photon torpedoes are so underpowered in this game.
The Akira has quantums in the game. I'm sure they would be carrying some. Unless it doesn't arrive till Tuesday. But as already said I think you would have been better going for at least 1 big 1 first. Or at least take out the sensors so that they can't see you, or take out the engines so they can't follow you.
Pretty sure it would be really easy to upgrade quantum torpedoes on the akira.

Would be neat to see an akira model with a few more phaser strips. With a few more of them she may have defeated them all!
And the KM ability to multi target. If an Akira replaced Voyager in the Delta Quadrant it would have been able to take out anything short of a Borg Cube, Krenim Timeship, Voth or 8472 ship.

I've come to think that the NX class should have been a joint design of the early Federation species. Change the lore and timeline so that Starfleet or some precursor to it is a cooperative exploration agency between various species like humans, Vulcans, Andorians, Denobulans so that the design speaks to a new cooperation before the Federation.

Akira class is one of my favourite ships! And I like seeing kazon ships used in videos. If you're interested in the NX design the channel Trekyards recently started posted some shorts from interviews with people worked on the show talking about what the ship design could have been.

The big Jason ships are the weak ones due to the damage it does upon exploding. They are like malon freighters. To test once I put 5 of them against a sovereign. Most of the sovereign's damage was from enemy warp core explosions
I was expecting you to warp away. Get some repairs done. ( at which point you could cut the video of the repair time. ) head back into the fight.

(I heard this saying first on the very old get smart TV series years ago) He who fights and runs away lives to fight another day.
Canonically, this fight would last 10-15 seconds. A couple of photons was enough to destroy one of those larger ships. Voyager only struggled when damaged or when attempting to conserve photons. A fully armed Akira would obliterate them all.
Did you check to see if you had an officer called Michael Jonas? 🤔 also did The Rock raise his eyebrow? 😂

The Akira is definitely no slouch. Imagine if that ship was flung in the Delta Quadrant and not Voyager.
I agree their torpedo launcher looks like the Titan's. I too like the NX class. I agree that if you had kept more torpedoes online it would have been better.
Akiras are not long-range ships, not really designed for exploration, or designed for long-hauls in space. Even the Intrepid has better endurance. An Akira would struggle.
The Akira is more durable, but it's primary weapons being consumable torpedoes would be a problem after a while in the Delta Quadrant.
Maybe have the end game fleet from star trek voyager fight the kazon nistrim
you forgot a Maquis raider to fight along the Akira.
I think you should have directed fire at the big ships first. The small fries weren't causing any real damage. After eliminating the small ships, you're into hull damage, yellow and red shields, and the big ships still have practically full health.

That's a fair point. I was trying to use Sun Tzu's tactics! I imagine the larger ship exploding could have damaged the smaller ones as well.
The Akira is tactically superior to the Intrepid class, and Voyager took on 4 of those large ships. Seems doable to me, pair it up with a Defiant class to handle the raiders and you would probably come out on top.
Is it cannon that the Akira has side launchers for torpedoes?
In the original Bridge Commander I used to play it had no such thing. Although it did have quantum torpedoes which I imagine it would on screen.
Have you done sovereign vs akira?
Voyager was able to destroy one of those Kazon carrier ships easily with multiple phaser shots and tightly focused 3 photon torpedoes.
Granted, it went up against 4 of those carriers and distracted them a bit with Holograms by diverting some of their firepower.
Apart from that, those smaller Kazon ships shouldn't be much of a threat to an Akira. Even VOY was able to dispatch them after a few hits with phasers only.
Kazon are using outdated tech compared to SF. Sure, the carrier ships in numbers can pose a threat to a single starship, but those small ships would be easy pickings with phasers. And Kazon carriers are highly vulnerable to to phasers as well

Why didn't you start putting distance between you and that Predator once it was down to, say 10% hp?

Remastered has some really detailed ships. I was using the WC version of the Akira.

Well, this mod is hopelessly broken then.
@RickBerman-iv2il are you referring to the Akira blowing up or the power balancing? The ship blowing up is something that's built into this particular mod. Under the right circumstances if a large ship explodes next to your damaged ship it causes a chain reaction. With regards to the Akira VS the Kazon, it all comes down to balancing. If you compared this to the battle in Voyager's episode "Basics" then the Kazon in this mod are over powered. I don't think any game is ever going be a 100% to what we see on screen 🖖
Should of targeted the capital ships first
Terrible battle strategy. You don't care about your crew 😢. You had long range superiority. You had a faster ship. Just kite them away from the system and pick them off one by one. Then rush back into the system to deal damage to the bigger ships.
