He walked straight and virtuous the very slippery path that Hollywood life offers, he never compromised or lost touch with reality. This is why all this people have so much genuine respect for him...
A really well deserved standing ovation for someone who not only became a very big part of Hollywood. But also for someone who became a very big part of our own lives.
You can see by the expressions on Will Smith's, Christian Bale's and Brad Pitt's faces that Stallone was their childhood hero, a symbol of machismo. Stallone getting an award for acting even with his facial disability is huge ! At least someone realized that this man's contribution to cinema's image of an alpha male deserved an acting award. This award was not just for Creed ! It was for creating a creed of machismo in the 80s and 90s which made real men of the kids back then unlike the millennials brought up on Robert Pattinson and the likes.

NO ONE I came across recognized the BRILLIANCE of this guy. He helped create a genre in movies: the action films, while also creating two of the most iconic characters in pop culture: Rocky and Rambo. He then brought back all of the action stars in the Expendables films as a nostalgic revisit for all of the fans. This guy seems like he has a enormous heart, which you can see personified in his Rocky character. Stallone deserves reverence and accolades. I’m glad I was one of the people who never saw him as a joke, because I can look back now and know I was right all along.
