This was a helpful guide. A lot of guides only go into the meta and assume that is the only way to play. That focus has made me quit before I have started more times than I can count. Looking at it from a lore point was really valuable. Cheers
Very helpful series. Clear dialogue and overview (with no spoilers). Just downloaded the game last week, thought i would get a better understanding before I get into the game. It has been like 20+ years since I have played something like this. Thank you. Subscribed... will check out other series from you as well.
As one OG gamer to another, thanks for this! I just picked up POE for pennies, not because I thought I needed to play it, but I need to play Avowed, and...pennies on the dollar. Sice it "looks" like an Infinity Engine game, I thought I could dive right in and my mad BG 1&2 skills would carry me through. Oops! This was the guide I needed when I needed it. Keep rollin' those natural 20's!
Great guide man! Still stuck between Cipher and Chanter (this game, by far, has the best "bard" flavor of any game I've played lol), but this was wonderfully helpful
Hello I just bought this game for xbox series x and I need help for my class the type of playstyle I have is a character that has dialogue, ranged, and uses a spear as a backup weapon, also bought pillars of eternity 2 deadfire
I have both. Played BG3 when it was still in development stage. Haven't played it since. To me, it has a feel of being on a movie set. It's not real. In Poe 2 (I have 1 also), I feel like I'm more immersed in the game, as if I'm actually in there running around exploring. Plus I like the text interaction of PoE 2 & random events in the world, whether you're in town or sailing.

Glad it helped!

Same! I just got a pc and I’ve been waiting because this game seems like a mouse and keyboard game.
It's fun :)
Also available in console port, but the PC version feels better IMO

there are a lot of classes to choose from. Good luck :) All can be customized.
How does this compare to Baldur's Gate 3 besides the obvious difference in production vales?
I don't compare them. They are their own unique things.
@Renfail okay, I asked because I finally just finished baldurs gate 3
Imo, the overall world building and character creation/builds are way better in PoE
