Great video. Think the same thing happned to my dad i live prettty far away at the moment so i cant help much unfortunately. But he said his 895 wont go into any gears and he stated looking at new trannys immediately and i sent him this video this will help him a lot 👌
Glad to see you young fellas working on your Versatiles. That's what the great Peter Pakosh designed them for....the farmer to be able to fix them. I get a kick out of how you tease "Twon" ha ha!
Wow comes out the top through the cab... that's a new one! Clever idea with the trolley and beam though. Good work! Bet getting the beam up in the cab and the bolts in without busting a window is fun though LOL:) Later! OL J R :)
Hey. when you get those new bearings, wrap the old good bearings in greasy paper or rags and stick them away, because when the new ones fail because they were not up to snuff, you will still have the good ones to put back. You will hear when they fail if they do.
Gee your winter comes in fast. We have late spring kinda thunder storms just now..Its pissing down!! Here in new zealand we are swathing our 1st vege seed crop. Lambs lettuce or Cornsalad we call it. Your uploads are good fun. Whats your email ( privately) so an send photos of what i do.
That's the beauty of these, they made them simple and with common parts. Allot of the parts are off the shelf items you can get at any parts store and allot are common truck parts.
That's what I was thinking-- weld a nut on the back of a piece of pipe or bar that will slip through the yoke hole then run a bolt with the end turned to a point through it into the end of the shaft zip it right off... I've made my own pullers before to do stuff like that... had to build one to pull bearings out of blind holes in the rake bars before too... Doesn't have to be big or pretty just get the job done... going through the U-joint trunnion holes it's compact longest thing is the forcing screw you can use whatever bolt length will fit basically... Later! OL J R :)
You should check out Welker Farms RUclips page they got an 1150 versatile that should probably go down the road to a good home so it doesn't get scrapped out
you got to be lucky sometimes ......big simple workhorse will be going long after todays tractors are in the junkyards .... was there any room to drop the box downwards into a pit ?
Hell of a job to get the tranny out for a 5 minute repair... that's how it usualy goes haha... You guys are lucky the pieces did not fall between the gears when they were spinning, that would have been a disaster...
I assumed that being a big tractor there would be plenty of room around the gearbox but nope. Sure was lucky that lot went down through the gearbox without even chipping a tooth, Would of thought there'd be some locking wire as well or something.

You guys do it all, thats awesome you young men fix your own stuff
Cant make money paying what shops charge these days haha
@@SouthSaskFarmer1 oh I know shop charges are about 120 an hr, and they add up fast. We fix everything ourselves only way to understand the equipment

@@SouthSaskFarmer1 that's what happens when you use rtv instead of a regular gasket.
That yoke is tighter then a nun on that shaft
Good for another 40 years
Or more lol

I didn't think I heard you but are those Cat transmissions in that tractor?
Nope versatile made their own haha
the new versatiles have cat transmissions
@@jd3137 yes
@@jd3137 I didn't know if they always did or not
I don't really remember if the tractors before the newest style had cats or not but the 2012-now do
Next time make you a puller for yoke chunk of thick pipe big bolt and 2 nuts done
Wasn't any room. We have a big puller but no way it would fit haha

Have you ever asked your self why can't I have just another inch or two. I mean clearence of course
Haha
Hahahahhahahahah
Just come this far bearings and Seals All Around
Basically haha
Glad thats all that was wrong; if it would have been mine the peices would have fell into the gears and destroyed the transmission

Would have been nice to see how you remove the floor 🤷♂️
