This iceberg is easily one of the best ones I've seen for GD. There's so much here, plenty of which I didn't even know about!
Some minor corrections though:
- 32:40 Red World wasn't "rerated," since there's no evidence of it being rated before the physics change.
- 33:40 The Deadlocked orb glitch is actually a common bug found in plenty of rated levels known as the "mid air jump bug." If you hit a pad assigned to a move trigger, the game still thinks you are on the ground, and so holding to click before the green orb will result in you changing gravity as the ball as if you were on the ground instead. This bug can also happen with the cube, robot and spider, and was even used as a coin route in The Lost Existence (at 5%). RobTop also confirmed that the bug is fixed in 2.2.
- 40:18 Smetana wasn't controversial for being rated medium demon, it was originally rated Insane 9* and used to be much harder. It had way more atrocious, unreadable gameplay than it does today, which caused Rob to re-rate it to demon and later unrated it entirely since people still hated the level. It was only after R4nz0r nerfed it down to 9* difficulty was when it received its "Normal 9*" from Robtop.
- 48:00 KrmaL didn't nerf Phobos, he just verified Tygrysek's second version from 2015 when it was still rated. KrmaL didn't actually make any changes himself.
- 52:55 Love Baba had nothing to do with Don't Rate This Level, since Love Baba was made on April 1st 2016 and DRTL wasn't made until June. LB was seemingly made as a joke/response to 2.0 itself, like a lot of his other levels at the time.
- 56:47 Mefewe's version didn't become the Sonic Wave Rebirth that Moosh verified, that version was just the same as the OG Sonic Wave with around 2 spikes changed.
- 57:11 No one really knows what the "secret filter" used in the old magic tab was, but it's theorized to have something to do with object count, level length, having an ldm, etc.
These are all just minor nitpicks though, still a great video! Looking forward to part 3! :)
I think I remember Smetana being rated 3* for a time and that being the source of the controversy and the reason for the visual bug with its rating.
To explain the Magic Tab change:
The old magic tab was just like the recent tab but with certain filters to curate the level, those filters being:
1. The level must be at least 1 minute long
2. The level must have over 20,000 objects
3. The level must have a LDM option
4. The creator must spend a certain amount of time in the editor
When the magic tab was first introduced, no one had any clue how it curated the levels, but as more people figured out how it worked, some users abused the system to have their level in the magic tab. This led to people posting low effort and troll levels in the magic tab, gathering them free views and likes. This led to Robtop changing the magic tab to where it would only show levels that were sent by the mods. You can still access the old Magic Tab by selecting the N/A rating the clicking on the magic tab.
as someone who made one of those troll levels i can confirm that the level only needed 10k objects
although that was 5 years ago so that mightve been changed idk
@NoobOnRUclips also RobTop changed the amount of objects/time in editor every once in a while to the magic tab cuz it started at 10k and time in editor was 24 hours and then changed it to 20k and 50 hours And so on until sending was it
29:34 BunnyGame was in fact an alternate joke name for FunnyGame, but there’s a little more to it than that. For example, if you get the first coin on Sirius, FunnyGame’s name changes to BunnyGame. Also, if you die at 7% on Unity, FunnyGame’s and TriAxis’s usernames change to BunnyGame and FriAxis.
Also at the "DeadLocked Green orb glitch" mostly happens when you hit a pad to an orb the ball gamemode can switch gravity with no platform on orb mid air just a bug
correction: its happening cuz youre hitting the pad as youre on a vertically moving platform. for some reason when you hit it - for a brief period of time - your input registers midair as if youre still on a platform, making you go down as the ball when you try to buffer the green orb. the same works with all other gamemodes except ship, ufo and wave and i think you can figure out why

41:01 the reason it happened is because when a level gets rerated from demon to under 1-9 stars, its difficulty is randomly assigned due to a bug. The same thing happens to all former demons like luster

About exasperation, while this may not go for every hater of the level, the level itself being bad wasn't the source of the hate, it was that back in 2017 a lot of people were acting like the level was the holy grail which obviously is dumb, and those people were being hated on not the level itself

Hi! This is the current owner of the Silent Levels List. Huge thanks for mentioning the list in your video.
Also, the reason the ILL does not allow levels that require more than 15 cps is to avoid the type of levels on the Silent Levels List. To make an average silent level, it's enough to just place some tight wave spam gaps and decorate the level a bit while for ILL you have to put real effort in your level to get it on the list. If this rule did not exist, people would most likely add insanely tight spam to their levels just to force difficulty which would not be that cool tbh.
The lower quality standards are basically the reason that the SLL is practically dead nowadays so idk if that was a good choice or not - it used to be like that since the list was created. Nevertheless, I continue to upload SLL levels on my youtube channel since the levels on there are pretty cool to watch (especially knowing that the video was recorded without noclip).

if you touch a pad while its moving you can jump in mid air sometimes thats why the deadlocked orb glitch happens, its used in the lost existence as well to get a heart near the start of the level
Yep you can still see the particles that only appear when you're still grounded and don't get the trail. The game thinks you didn't leave the platform and ball and spider gamemodes are most affected by it
Very good series though the wait for the third part might be long it will be worth it! 2 things I have to add 1 the what the Magic tab use to be was heavy object levels so getting your levels in the magic tab was easy and was exploited (you can visit the old magic tab by clicking the NA face and clicking the Magic tab button) 2 I am pretty sure the bunny game is A reference to the fact that dying at 7% on Unity by Funny game and Triaxis causes the text to say "Bunny game an FriAxis" also I like how you talk about stereo madness v4 calling it "the worst rate level" and instantly after that you talk about a rate level with nothing except 3 bronze coins to be honest I would rather stare into the void for 1:30 rather than play a copy of stereo madness that makes you go blind. Great video looking forward to part 3!

34:01 im pretty sure what happens is that landing on the moving block messes with the ball and the ball thinks its still grounded so if you buffer the orb you flip gravity
if you hit the blue orb late, you hit the yellow pad and dont hit the block and so it doesnt work

Now that 2.2 is out, what you said isn't really correct. FPS still determines how frequently the inputs are updated and makes the game easier, it just doesn't change physics and causes bugs anymore

34:08 this happens because if a ball jumps off of an upwards moving platform it can swap gravity mid air, hiting the blue orb early makes you hit the platform the pad is on, then when you try to click the green orb it will act as if you clicked with the ball

the death levels were somewhat of a strange phenomenon back in late 2.0 / early 2.1. Most of them centered around three accounts: kidminer, gr uak, and leafygen2, who received attention by uploading rated popular levels (under different names) and labeling them as if the levels were their own or some sort of collab between famous creators at that time. I think the death levels were made as a reaction to that
"TAS" is also short for Tool Assisted Superplay.

33:40 it’s not a bug with the green orb. What happens is that there’s a bug where if you jump off of a platform that’s moving up by a jump pad, you’ll be able to jump midair, which is what happens here.

Yeah it's pretty much a joke name, whoever, its more noticeable appearece comes from the level Unity
that if you die in the beginning of the level, the part that credits both Triaxis and Funnygame, the F turns into a B. Thats pretty much it
Also, about the death levels
Although nowadays theyre just a joke, back in 2.0 or so, a lot of these levels were made because some people hated other players. Pretty much GD Beef in small groups of people
It was pretty wild, and when i was 11 i would see a lot of these levels being posted whenever i'd press my "friends" tab.

regarding the lithifusion zoophilia accusations, I wasn't aware they were proven false, I think I remember accusations coming out from someone who said lithifusion was essentially molesting and rubbing his dick against his dog and his evidence was discord DMs from lithifusion admitting to doing this, lithifusion just denying it and calling it fake, then two other people also came out accusing him of doing the same thing and telling them about what he did in discord DMs, and lithifusion said once again they were fake and doctored screenshots, and then I remember one of them posting a video of them scrolling through the discord conversation in question to prove it wasn't just a photoshopped screenshot like lithifusion said it was, then lithifusion released requiem, everybody forgot about the accusations and got mad at him for making a level about his friends suicide and the imagery in that level then lithifusion just quit and removed most of his videos

As far as doggies pdf hack i think that’s actually some sort of exploit or oversight within the pdf file itself where you could execute js code from it. Take this with a grain of salt as i do not know 100% if this could be the case but it seems more likely than file extensions being disabled.
