I absolutely love walking around a bakery and looking at all the beautiful baked goods!!! These are such pretty cake slices!! It would be so much fun to get like 10 different kinds and put them together to resemble a cake!!! Like for a birthday party… everyone could get their favorite flavor!!! I love that you can get just one slice and not have to buy a whole cake… I also appreciate that you are supporting local businesses!
Had the real princess cake in Stockholm, in the oldest cafe in the city. It’s one of their famous/traditional cakes. Was lovely but not one I’d normally choose. All the other cakes sound delicious. Thanks for the review.
A princess cake is a traditional Swedish dessert. If you have an IKEA store around you, they have a lot of Swedish desserts and princess cake is one of them. It usually has a pale green or pale pink fondant or marzipan covering, and inside is almond with raspberry and cream or sometimes a custard filling. I had one at IKEA and really enjoyed it. The outer covering/icing is never buttercream, it's usually marzipan. I love anything almond or marzipan flavored, plus the raspberry!
Even though I may never have the opportunity to try this bakery, I still LOVE watching you guys try all the local spots around KY! I was kind of hoping the Princess cake would be pistachio, but raspberry and almond is also an amazing flavor combo... glad you enjoyed these :)
Sounds like a delightful hidden gem! Thanks for trying all of these and sharing your thoughts with us! I’d love to get a slice or two if I’m ever randomly in the area 😂 Thank you!
Oh wow A lot of times I go to the next video instead of watching the pictures and nutritional info at the end. But if I had done that I would have saw the other awesome pastries they offer! 🤣🤣 I'm very impressed though. So much to choose from and it all looks amazing!
Oh god 🤣 The green stuff is marzipan. Real marzipan. It's finely ground almonds with powdered sugar, possibly some egg whites in there somewhere but mainly ground almonds and powdered sugar. I can eat a little bit of it... but I get nauseous from too much of it. We have a cake here that has a band of that stuff around it... I would literally remove it lol. I would still try it tho, just not too much of that stuff on there lol. All in all... I would take a bite of them all.
@@TamiDunn wow I didn't know that! When those first came out, they were in various stores and I absolutely LOVED them and then they disappeared, at least from everywhere I shop. I am not a Costco member so never go in there. I might have to check it out to get those chips again!
You are so lucky to have a bakery like this near you or within a drive! Those look absolutely delicious and I would want to try every single flavor cake they offer! Do they also have other pastries such as tarts, pies, danishes etc? Might have to add Nicholasville as a stop!
TBH, that really is the difference between customer service now and before and definitely in some bakeries now and of yesteryear. Whether it is your 1st (they should REALLY fuss over you!!!) or your 50th time in (well, hopefully by then they'd know you and know your questions before you ask...), a good customer service would ask, do you have any questions about our cakes or pastries, etc. And then you can say yes and they should explain each cake to you (unless there are 50 cakes) or ask, is there any particular kind of cake or flavor you like? It would be what I would ask, anyway, if I were the person working there.
I wish they used buttercream. I don’t mind a whipped topping but prefer buttercream or a good cream cheese frosting. These sound good, but the German Chocolate is my top choice. I love how you describe this one having a ganache. The Oreo would be my runner up. I would skip the Italian Cream. Great review.
Next time you're there, ask the European Delights people why Germany is famous for a cake made with tropical fruit 🥥 (it's an American cake invented by a guy named German, but I feel like that's not common knowledge. It would be fun to watch somebody process that absurdity in realtime 😂)
Just wondering have you heard from Maria. Please send nY hellos n Hope is doing very well. Thanks for sharing scrumptious desserts. Wow. Enjoy the day..hope it’s fun and relaxing.
I think the price is great for today’s market where everything is outrageous. I love a piece of cake 🍰. I think the PB one would be my choice . I’m with yall though buttercream all the way the thicker the better. Great review
Did you know Italian cream cake isn't even Italian? I remember asking my mom if she had heard of it one time, and she looked at me like I had three heads 😂
I have a guess that these aren't produced in store. They different colours, whipped cream topping, decorations, why some cakes are two layers or three, give me the vibe that they are mass produced and meant for like small cafes, hotels or catering. While still delicious, I would probaby stay away from lol.
That green on the princess cake is marsipan, which is mainly ground almonds and sugar. The almonds what makes it gritty
I love marzipan and eat it whenever I can, but it’s not what I was hoping for.

IKEA is hours away for us. We have reviewed some of their foods though :) I love marzipan too (Niederegger).

@@TamiDunn Very! Keep an eye to the sky today! Strong storms likely! ⚡ ⛈️
The next time I’m on Nicholasville Road, I’ll stop there. I’d like to try the peanut butter cake-after chocolate, it’s one of my favorites.
Have you tried Mondelli’s?
@@TamiDunn It’s on my list to try.
Thank you so much for sharing these with us. German chocolate & Peanut butter would be my pick.
You are welcome 🤗
You all did a great job matching
Thank you 🤗

kevin’s bites are massive 😂😂
Yes 😃
Yall should try the lays honey butter chips!
They are exclusive to Costco.

I’m sure I would get a blind stare 😂
The prices are really good. It’s the same as as a crumble cookie almost
I agree!
My Walmarts have an Italian Cream Cake with high ratings. I haven't tried it as it is large and I could not eat it all, even freezing it.
I can appreciate that!
Since they are about the same price as a crumbl cookie, would you get a slice of cake over a cookie from crumbl?
I would choose the cake.
Just wondering have you heard from Maria. Please send nY hellos n Hope is doing very well.

I haven’t. After having a channel for so many years, I’ve realized that people come and go constantly. Their interests or lifestyle may change. 😊
Iv seen Paul Hollywood make a princess cake.on the bake off show.or maybe it was Mary Barry.did you guys have sugar overload after all that cake?🎂
No, it was just the right amount 😃
They may use Italian buttercream which is lighter, and less sweet than traditional buttercream :)
I absolutely love rich, heavy, super-sweet buttercream. 😃

They have a huge kitchen. They are made on-site :) europeandelightsbakery.com/our-mission/
@@TamiDunn thank you for correcting me! I believed it wasn’t made in house because of that creamy whipped topping I’m used to getting.
