    Great advice and a good reminder! Appreciate the emphasis on knowing the rules and noticing how your tools (books, monster cards, digital) affect your timing.

      What's wild is how many tables I've heard about that *discourage* rules knowledge, as if it somehow disrupts a players' ability to narratively immerse. While I think that may be the case for some individuals, in my experience, rules knowledge contributes to the game's enjoyment. It doesn't detract from it. ~John
