Love Reiko's moveset, he feels like an MMA fighter, who specializes in Muay Thai. He has beautiful animations for kicks and takedowns. As a character, I despise Shao Jr. over there, but he's definitely the character I'll main once I get the game.
It’s not Muay Thai at all brother did u see the double leg and the guilotinne throw ? He is straight up wrestler with big meaty punches and crazy grappling entrees

@0:49 this game confuses me. I'm doing the exact inputs (confirmed by the input display on the left in practice mode) and my character sometimes just doesn't do the combo. The F124, J21 are fine, but then the last kick never comes out for me...I don't get it.
Yes! I been waiting on your upload, your combo guides are amazingly done and the best for learning the BNBs and then applying nyour own sauce afterwards. Other combo guides lock you into their comfort buttons. Thanks for this Ahmz
What I don't like about other guides is that they get too into what details the character these videos are straight forward the most optimal combos and you figure out the rest on your own
For me, I can do the entire combo with Pale Rider at the end very consistently, but then on the right side, on the left side, I keep getting his running animation. Even when I just do BDF without pressing 1 through 4, he keeps doing his run. I have no idea what I am doing wrong, I can do Pale Rider itself and with other moves from Reiko's movelist, but when I have to do 3, ~ BDF/1 (Pale Rider) he keeps running.
@@Eskimofo13 outstanding pressure, great zone, good combos and overall just has good stats in gen lol (watch rewinds Reiko and you will 100% see why Reiko is so good when played correctly
@@funny2127 he does have multiple plus on block buttons and strings but they’re all highs except for his sweep so you can duck them or the first hit of the strings, his mix is also pretty good but have to be standing on top of them to do enforce it, his zoning is strong but does have a lot of counters like the feat of the zoning in the game with teleports and Kameos, his combo damage is straight terrible though without Darius his meterless is some of the lowest in the game you damn near have to spend all recourses to get 40% (without FB), with the exception of B3 his range is abysmal and his F1 (mid) is like 16 frames which is terrible He’s not bottom tier but he’s close and he needs a lot of help, his combos could use a good damage buff and his command grab shouldn’t be two bars for ex, as for rewind carrying he’s one of the best in the world any character will look godlike when he uses them.

Is anyone else having an issue with the combo with the 1st darrius kameo, 9 times outta 10 it forces me to do the leg slide instead of the grapple even though im hitting the correct buttons, but other times it lets me do the grab its extremely annoying trying to do a combo and it pulls a fully different move when i dont even hit the buttons for it.
One question about 2:53... I do the same 13 hits, but i get 389.0 dmg instead of 404.54... I watched and noticed, that my 3 before last BDF1 does 15 dmg instead of 20... And same with 1:49. How is that possible?

OK so that first guy is an idiot, you have to hold back on the command grab(you know you're doing it right if the side you threw them on is the side he rolls to), and while he's in the air you call the assist, then hold back while the assist is going.
It’s really weird but as soon as ur about to slam their head into the ground you have to hit r1 and then start holding back right after. Still after I stand up I try to do the next grab and my character does a completely different slide move even tho I am not hitting x
I can't get 434 -> BF3 working. I see you inpot BF3 during the third kick, but however and whenever I try inputing BF3 it just doesn't work. Somehow I think I got it off once, but I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. If I input 434 it queues it up, but no matter when or how I enter BF3 after it just doesn't execute it during the combo.

As some comments pointed out, turning off release check in control settings might help with executing the suplex grab. The rest is just getting used to the timing. Even with a bunch of practice the move only comes out like 4/10 times.
When I try doing Reiko's Pale Rider move - back down forward 1 it keeps coming out as a forward 1 mid attack ( heavy hook) ? How do I stop this? Is there some timing to it?
I searched for this video because I only knew the F124 J214 combo and felt like learning another so I’m less predictable to fight, so F124, 34~DB3 combo looked right up my alley. But I’m having a really hard time with getting the DB3 off, it feels like it doesn’t let me do anything after 34, any one have any advice? Edit: figured it out, I had to input the special between the animation for 34
If you're using the same opener, then you're still as predictable. Changing the last half of a combo doesn't change how your opponent has to block to stop you.
Buttons differ between consoles and controller layouts, but 1, 2, 3 and 4 are universal in fighting game lingo. It really helps to learn if you're into fighting games, a lot of guides will use this notation.
Love the video. But this tells me reiko aint that good of a character. I don't do most of these crazy cool combos, but I've been trying to main him with at least a good 30% combo under my belt and i can't even utilize it because he just can't open people up. No mix ups at all and they are all incredibly unsafe. Smoke might be cheap but man his mix up game is crazy

Try turning release check off, I was having the same problem until I turned it off
Reiko is one of my top favorites to use in MK1. Along with Baraka, Johnny Cage, Havik & Raiden.

Press the kameo when Reiko is in air, is very easy

The trick will be watching the feet of the opponent, call Darius immediately when you see the feet of the opponent nearly going vertical.
