    My Granddaddy had a local Quartet around Cartersville Georgia years ago, they got to work with Naomi and the Sego Brothers in a little town community called Kingston Georgia north of Cartersville, (known for the Great Locomotive Chase) and as part of the American Civil War. He told me one night at another singing years later in the same small town, on that same stage (his group was no longer singing) that Naomi's husband was so drunk that night she had to hold his head up to sing, and every song was a hit until he ruined it for them.

      Why would you tell that story? Is it edifying? Does it further The Kingdom? It would appear to be gossip.

    • @TheShospitali
      @TheShospitali 9 лет назад

      It's not gossip, Her husband was a drunk like so many gospel groups back then, once a local booking agent had the Inspirations Quartet booked at a local high school, when they was the number one quartet in southern gospel music, he walked up on the bus, their they set drinking and gambling with another group, he sent both down the road talking to themselves. He was a great singer though he wasn't the only one. The Late George Younce of the Cathedrals use to drink and smoke pot. A long time ago Gold City was not traveling, the Kingsmen borrowed their bus, Gold City went to clean the bends in the bus, and pulled out a bunch empty of liquor bottles.

      ***** No one is perfect. We all have our faults. However, that does not justify what we do. We each have to answer for what we do. I have heard that J.D. Sumner drank also, but I don't know for sure.

      JD Sumner did drink, and smoked POT. Elvis was hooked on pills.
