No one gets through his life with out scars. We are so much more alike than we are different.
The day they went to film at the plane wreck location they were battling 40mph sand storms. The colored smoke disguises the fact that he was being pelted with sand for hours on end. Given that the song is about scars and flaws.... the "not perfect" is absolutely perfect.
Every time I hear someone say "Tom only know controversy" I know they have no idea who Tom MacDonald is. He is a beautiful human.
His tracks are my tattoos. Metaphorically for now, but I have every intention of inking my blank canvas with lyrics from him that light up the darkness in my mind and inspire me to battle my own demons.
Half the reactors I've watched couldn't hold back from singing along with the hook. I look forward to being one of the thousands of voices singing it at a live show.
Physical Graffiti is the name of a Led Zeppelin album... Tom's favorite band. Snuck that shout out passed almost everybody.

The car part hits me, young and drunk I flipped my Jimmy off a 30+ft cliff, it flipped 7x in the air before I hit the creek bed, was uninjured, crawled out the passenger side window and walked to my buddy's house. God was with me💯🙏
Holy crap. God had you in His hands that night. Most people don’t even survive the first or second flip. I have a friend with an intensely similar story but he only rolled twice and there weren’t cliffs, but he crawled out and walked a mile or two to his grandparents’ house. He showed up and they said, “that’s it. This stops now.” They intervened; adopted him as an older teen bc his parents weren’t parents. His grandparents helped him get clean,
Pushed him to reach his potential, and he ended up graduating HS with honors and is a respected Nurse Practitioner in our city.

I was addicted to OxyContin for 10+ years. I lost my wife and even sold my house to get them. I’ve been clean for 9 years now and I’ve always said there is no such thing as a “recovered” addict because we are all always one bad choice away from falling right back down. We are and will always be in a state of recovery. It gets easier yes but it’s always hiding in the corner waiting for that one weak moment to strike. Stay strong and be aware of it. That’s the only way I found to win everyday.

This song hits me hard. I have physical and mental scars that I hide everyday from the world. I was kidnapped and held prisoner by my ex and everyday I had to fight to stay alive and I never thought I would ever see my children again but I never gave up and I was able to escape and I am so thankful that I never gave up. We all have something that we thought we couldn't survive but we never gave up and we are still here!

You are so right on what should be our focus. Love your perspective & wisdom and sense of humor. Nova said they were doing battle with 40 m/hr winds. Congratulations on your 💪🏽 being able to overcome and deal with those demons that are always burning right below the surface. I love this song so much and I cried practically all day (I guess I have scars of my own) but I felt his emotions when he was singing/rapping about his past and daily struggles. We can all relate to this song one way or another and some more than others. I appreciate this couple for all they do and am so happy I discovered them now going on 2 years (I'm a newbie but have listened to all his songs including the ones before Nova). The song breaks me every time I hear it. I came from a poor crime ridden city in Canada. Hamilton. I would walk by these broken people and scoff, get a job bums. Then I was 24, fresh out of the army with no job prospects and some money from my service. Drugs and Alcohol is where all that back pay went. I ended up being one of those people I scoffed at.

I've had five cars two houses and my ex-wife took it all from me so I know what it is to lose it all and I mean when I lost it all I lost it all I was living on the streets eating one time a day I had nothing so I know how to lose it all and still deal with life I ain't got nothing now
