my father worked 1 year for GB company in GB and they took 50+% in taxes from him, but they gave him passport for that... after the horror he found a company out of GB that didnt take much taxes and paid good in africa... now his own pension and chilling in UK at his appartment across arsenal stadium....
That must have been many years ago because our top tax rate was 89% in 1979 and reduced to 63% in 1980. These days it's far lower as currently our top tax rate is 45% and that only applies to income after £125,000. You pay 0% on the first £12,500 of earnings, then 20% up to £50,000, then 40% up to £125,000 and 45% on everything over £125,000. The tax rates are now applied progressively.
innovation cheaper faster therapies, AI and early diagnosis techniques will save NHS.. otherwise training hiring paying doctors nurses, building new hospitals etc. are not a sustainable solution. UK is good at implementing innovations, they will survive..
I have already warned against the secularisation of Britain it has come with dire consequences and I would say that the country will not recover from its predicaments. Finally this may be a warning for other nations who are promoting secularisation and\or deindustrialization
yeah, I'm gonna go with it being more of a problem of deindustrialistion than secularisation since the USA is the richest country in the World and is constitutionally secularised.
Moved from UK to Melbourne in Dec 2022 - working in tech. Best decision I made. But sad as a born and bred Londoner I felt I had to move.
I would quit the uk tomorrow if I could.
Uk has gone to the dogs.
