I’ve bought from them twice (by the way they have amazing customer service- I screwed up and ordered one shade twice and they graciously switched it out for me). But the brands swatches on the website don’t do anything for me and it’s hard to see what they truly look like. I remember making orders from them and being a surprised that there was less taken off my debit card then I expected. She may have adjusted the website to only show American prices if you're looking from an American browser but I'm pretty sure that they are in Canada so their prices might appear higher than they actually are for us if you are in the US

Love your swatch vids. Lauren Mae, I much prefer to collect individual shadows. Not at all fond of pallets because I rarely like 50% of what is in them. I like satins, shimmers, and multi chromes, but can't abide glitters of any kind. Currently in quest of good mattes. Bright is good but I look for cool tones. Would love a "list" of companies, indi and other, that offer singles.
I absolutely love these videos. I've finally decided to dive into buying indie shadows and your videos are so helpful. I know you have many videos on singles, but I'm wondering which brand would rank top dog for most unique, textural, glittery, majestic eyeshadow. I picked up some Clionadh, so a part of me is wondering if I should stick with them and purchase more shades from the line, or switch it up.
This brand shes showing here - Shine by SD, Terra Moons & Devinah are my ALL time favorites for shifty, shiney, textured! I do love Clinadah also, but until recently they were a bit harder to get. Just my opinion. 💙💚💜 Lauren's other videos are super helpful also! Good luck!!!

Basically, I want to pick up shadows that give Pat McGrath's special shades a run for their money. I've looked at all of these and they're all so tempting, but I don't want to accidentally pick up two versions of the same shade and textures with one being noticeably better. If anyone has specific shade or formula suggestions, let me know!
Personally I adore terra moons shadows, specifically antares (pink with gold shift) and zero gravity (irredescent purple). Antares has a solid base though just so you know! Also for sheer wash of colour, check out JD glow, I picked up n-sane and it's very sparkly but sheer. I would skip looxi personally, mine were really powdery and not sparkly. PFYF I like but still a little powdery, but they seem like sweet people and gave a sample of their soap.
What are your favorite color "shifts"? And your favorite textures? Like for example mine are kind of like Lauren's, mostly sheer but SUPER sparkly and shifty. Most of my all time favorites are any of the iridescent chameleons by Terra moons- like Space baby- blueish- green- purple, Phoenix-orange-pink- gold green or Red Giant- red/pink but they have a iridescent base. The iridescent shades by Shine by SD are all STUNNING also! The new Halo Moon collection from Devinah are exactly like those also and they are all STUNNING! But like you mentioned, some do over lap. So it's best to make a list if your wanting to dive in. Lol! We can all help suggest shades I'm sure! I've seen some already suggested that are absolutely BEAUTIFUL!!! Anyones suggestions on Lauren's page have to be AWESOME! ;) Take a look at these sites (Terra Moons, Shine by SD, Touch of Glam, JD Glow & Devinah) on IG and make you a list. Also check out the swatches by @mjones5018 on IG, she captures ALL the shifts of some super special shades and does some STUNNING looks for inspiration! I use her account to determine if it's what I'm looking for in a shade b4 purchasing most of the time bc they can add up quickly. Also if you want to make a pretty large purchase or even several smaller ones, (if you want to hold out until Black Friday)- I have found it is the BEST time to place the larger orders. Devinah has the Halo Moon collection for pre order on their website now. I use at least 1 iridescent shade daily! But the brands I mentioned have MANY beautiful shades. Shine by SD is one of my favorite newer discoveries. I love the shadows I have from them so very much. They're just so sparkly without being glittery. I think the most recent order I made was the Dynasty 2 collection. Love love love

Question: If you use these shadows with a liquid mixing medium, like the NYX Multitasker or Duraline, is the shift affected? Do they still shift the same? Or does the mixing medium turn these into a "normal" metallic/foil/sparkle shadow?
@@this_lee_life5553 thanks...these are really expensive, so i think if they work the same when used with a mixing medium, they could also make really fantastic eyeliners. Multiple uses might make the price seem a bit easier to justify (for me personally).

I got a pack of 7 singles from them. They left one out and one was busted. I think SD’s shadows are more chunky indie multis…..I prefer Terra Moons. Better quality and customer service. But the palette looks gorgeous!!
I think they're both amazing quality. In terms of shadows breaking I've had a few arrive that way and she went above and beyond to make it right and even sent me a freebie! She has amazing CS in my experience!
@@shinebysdcosmetics_ I was told it was out of stock and could not be replaced. I fixed it with alcohol. Seemed to work ok but may have been why it became chunky?
@@lyndseymoye12 depending on how much alcohol was added could have been a factor . But the reserve collection are our most textured shades we have. If you decide to try some new goodies , we’ll definitely make up for the broken shade 😊

What do the asterisks next to the individually listed shadows in your description mean? What is it those are that is different from the others.., it’s super confusing because the only footnote you have that is also prefaced by a single * is just the sponsor info instead of why they are only prefacing some shadow names and why
Around the start of the video, she says the asterisks are basically her top favourites (the best of the best in her opinion). She uses the same method on other singles swatch videos as well.
I love these but one shadow comes to roughly $23 w shipping and insurance in USD. If I didnt have to pay that for s&h I possibly would. I can’t justify that price:( I know they are handcrafted and different but I can’t push the pay now button and it sucks lol just like I’ won’t buy a pat mcgrath 125 palette. But Im gonna buy the palette bc that’s a good price for 9
I feel the shipping is worth it if you purchase multiple shadows. My first order is being sent in two shipments. One from Canada and one from Florida. Some products are sent from the US, so shipping can cover more than one shipping location. There are cheaper shadows on their website and they do have sales. I would recommend say waiting until they have a sale to try out their singles.

I so wish the palette were magnetic. There are 3 colors I would never wear, so would rather pop them out and give them to someone else.... Or take out the ones I want and put them in another palette with my other Shine by SD colors... Since this is sponsored, I am hoping that enough people say the same thing that they take the hint ;)
With how hardcore Shine by SD is, all I gotta say is, main stream brands just CANNOT COMPARE. Their shadows are so lackluckster and dull compared to these beautiful shadows.
Am I the only one who does NOT like loose sparkles in shadows ? They spread so quickly all over the face, etc. and so hard to wash off it gives me additional anxiety :(( Im happy there are still a few brands who make just shiny pretty foiled shadows without all of that. Also to me shiny smooth shadows look way more expensive then micro glitters all over eyes, lashes, etc.
Here's the thing with these kinds of videos. If it's so difficult to capture the shifts that you need close ups and different kinds of lighting and you have to build the swatch up with half the pan ... how is anyone supposed to see it on our eyes? 🤔🤔🤔. I'm not gonna be like oh hey can you get up in my grill under this light over here, no this other light, and I'll turn my head like this while we chat so you can see the green... no.
it can be quite noticeable on the eyes with less effort than you think! cameras always pick up colors differently than actual eyes (a good example is that purples are notorious for showing up more blue in recordings and pictures). i was sitting in a fast food place with my sister a couple years back and she noticed the shifts in my shadows i had on and when i was at home with her she also noted that my eyes looked like shiny beetles but i tried taking a picture and my lighting and phone just would not cooperate haha

Try a fluffy flat dense brush with the glitter glue that way it will still stick but won't be as opaque

I believe she loves the Sydney Grace mattes and they have awesome cool tones
While she's at it, a list of companies whose palettes are magnetic. Those are essentially collections of singles.
I second Sydney Grace mattes! They're the best I've tried so far. Sydney Grace has nice foils too but not so much sparkly like Shine by SD or Clionadh

Question: If you use these shadows with a liquid mixing medium, like the NYX Multitasker or Duraline, is the shift affected? Do they still shift the same? Or does the mixing medium turn these into a "normal" metallic/foil/sparkle shadow?

@@this_lee_life5553 thanks...these are really expensive, so i think if they work the same when used with a mixing medium, they could also make really fantastic eyeliners. Multiple uses might make the price seem a bit easier to justify (for me personally).

I got a pack of 7 singles from them. They left one out and one was busted. I think SD’s shadows are more chunky indie multis…..I prefer Terra Moons. Better quality and customer service. But the palette looks gorgeous!!
I think they're both amazing quality. In terms of shadows breaking I've had a few arrive that way and she went above and beyond to make it right and even sent me a freebie! She has amazing CS in my experience!

@@lyndseymoye12 depending on how much alcohol was added could have been a factor . But the reserve collection are our most textured shades we have. If you decide to try some new goodies , we’ll definitely make up for the broken shade 😊

What do the asterisks next to the individually listed shadows in your description mean? What is it those are that is different from the others.., it’s super confusing because the only footnote you have that is also prefaced by a single * is just the sponsor info instead of why they are only prefacing some shadow names and why
Around the start of the video, she says the asterisks are basically her top favourites (the best of the best in her opinion). She uses the same method on other singles swatch videos as well.
I just discovered these. How long does it take to arrive from Canada?.
I love these but one shadow comes to roughly $23 w shipping and insurance in USD. If I didnt have to pay that for s&h I possibly would. I can’t justify that price:( I know they are handcrafted and different but I can’t push the pay now button and it sucks lol just like I’ won’t buy a pat mcgrath 125 palette.

I feel the shipping is worth it if you purchase multiple shadows. My first order is being sent in two shipments. One from Canada and one from Florida. Some products are sent from the US, so shipping can cover more than one shipping location. There are cheaper shadows on their website and they do have sales. I would recommend say waiting until they have a sale to try out their singles.

I so wish the palette were magnetic. There are 3 colors I would never wear, so would rather pop them out and give them to someone else.... Or take out the ones I want and put them in another palette with my other Shine by SD colors... Since this is sponsored, I am hoping that enough people say the same thing that they take the hint ;)

With how hardcore Shine by SD is, all I gotta say is, main stream brands just CANNOT COMPARE. Their shadows are so lackluckster and dull compared to these beautiful shadows.

Am I the only one who does NOT like loose sparkles in shadows ? They spread so quickly all over the face, etc. and so hard to wash off it gives me additional anxiety :(( Im happy there are still a few brands who make just shiny pretty foiled shadows without all of that. Also to me shiny smooth shadows look way more expensive then micro glitters all over eyes, lashes, etc.

Here's the thing with these kinds of videos. If it's so difficult to capture the shifts that you need close ups and different kinds of lighting and you have to build the swatch up with half the pan ... how is anyone supposed to see it on our eyes?
🤔🤔🤔. I'm not gonna be like oh hey can you get up in my grill under this light over here, no this other light, and I'll turn my head like this while we chat so you can see the green... no.
From experience I can tell you that you can see very easily the flip on the eyes, but it's a pain to capture it on the camera.
it can be quite noticeable on the eyes with less effort than you think! cameras always pick up colors differently than actual eyes (a good example is that purples are notorious for showing up more blue in recordings and pictures). i was sitting in a fast food place with my sister a couple years back and she noticed the shifts in my shadows i had on and when i was at home with her she also noted that my eyes looked like shiny beetles but i tried taking a picture and my lighting and phone just would not cooperate haha

Keep in mind, the prices are in Canadian dollars. They're about $13 USD. Still expensive though, for sure.
