- Hey guys!! Welcome to a late night upload!! I have some new shadows from Shine by SD and I wanted to get them swatched and compared to other shadows from the brand! I tried to do mirror swatches as well to help show off the flips better! I really hope that helps!! You guys already know that I really love the Shine formula and sparkle and some many of these are soo stunning!! I really love some of those duochromes and that they are more affordable!! Lotta heavy hitters in that list !! It’s so much fun isn’t it ?? The best is when the package shows up, and you tear it open like it’s Christmas. And then walk around all day with swatches on your hands and arms 🥰🥰 so nice to see so many building their collections with what THEY WANT and not what some mainstream brand is telling them they’re getting. Since I started my singles adventure the only palette Ive bought that wasnt indie was the lorac noir. Sorry about the book, just really makes me smile to see people taking control away from mainstream bs(another fifty shades of brown) and putting it back in their own hands and buying what will really make them happy and excited about their collections. 😊🥰
Yes! I limited myself to primarily 2 companies this past Black Friday. I’m new to the indie space and so I knew I couldn’t buy from everyone. I chose 20 from Cliondah and 30+ from Terramoons and then bought the Galaxy dust collection from Devinah. Still so many brands to try!

After watching Lauren maes video of recreating the bridgerton eye palette, I spent like $50 at Shine, and I’m so excited about receiving it, and I feel like I saved money and also space.
@@celinag9968 it's a flakey lilac lavender I personally haven't seen anything thike that or have anything like that in my collection I'd say check out the reserve bundle from shine by SD

Idk if this is off base to say but I think it's cool they "allow" you to compare to past shadows so you don't buy anything too similar.

i used all your past shine by sd swatch videos to make a list of the things i wanted from her on black friday. these videos are so helpful. i already had a tentative list but i was able to knock some of the similar ones off and the ones that weren't the textures/finishes/colors i thought they were going to be and i can't wait to actually see all the ones i ordered in person

Honestly it doesn’t matter how many eyeshadows I have, I still want to buy more. Even though I’m barely wearing makeup these days. These brands just keep rolling more awesome shit out. It’s killing me 😭😭

@@kristentrep5038 SAME !! I’m always walking around the house with swatches on. I do little color stories, too see what they look like together and get ideas for eye looks. Truth be told I get to really appreciate the swatches in all different kinds of lights, where I might only see my eyelook a couple times during the day in a mirror.
@@scray00 girl, we’ve only got 2 eyelids!If I’m having a bad day, I’ll sit on my floor in my room playing with eyeshadow! Then come on downstairs to make dinner or whatever covered in my favs! That’s a great idea with the color stories tho!!

I don't typically go for sparkly eyeshadows like these because I feel like the texture emphasises any creasing that happens (most things crease on me, and I'm still learning how to minimise that with various eyeshadow formulas that I own), but these are so pretty that I'm tempted by them anyway.

I tried shinebysd for this first time because of your videos and I just bought Revenge and Luxie and I was BLOWN away😍😍😍, I posted a video unboxing, swatching and comparing them to my other shadows... they are so nice! The sparkles are so fine and the shifts are intense. I am so impressed I'll be picking up more for sure!!
If you like sparkly shadows I think you would like the Beauty Bay shimmer formula. It's so sparkly and beautiful. Highly recommend Age of Opulence and Wilderness palettes. I know they have some more neutral palettes also. And if you can wait for them to ship from UK, they're great.

I really used to love shinebysd shadows but I have had issues with some of mine getting very dry very fast. Between the cost of each one plus the international shipping plus the feeling that they weren't aging well, I had to slow myself down on purchasing them.
Ahhh I’m sorry you have had issues!! I haven’t noticed mine drying up more than they were initially but I will definitely keep an eye out to see if that is something that happens later on for me!
That sucks 😢 I hear you about the shipping. I’m so used to getting free shipping in the states. Did they develop hard pan ?? You say dried out. Are they a cream or gel ??
I got some that felt so dry they were squeaky, straight from the mail box. I have sensory issues and they felt so bad that they made me never want to touch them again. It was mainly the gold type shades. The ingredient list on the website is just pigment and liquid binder, the owner should add a base powder like Nylon-12 or Silica to make them feel more pleasant. I have some of those powders so I'm tempted to crumble mine and adjust the formula to make them more usable for me.
@@LaurenMaeBeauty my brighter days ones were the worst, I think that's why she discontinued them. I have a bunch in my cart but I'm going to wait for my clionadh order to arrive on the 9th and see if that quenches my sparkle Thirst!
@@scray00 not hard pan. Just scratchy feeling for sure and chunks would just randomly fall off. I have to be extra careful about storing that z palette flat and right side up or they will fall out of the pan. I'm not bagging on the brand, I really do love them. I've done quite a few videos of my own with Shinebysd shadows. I just think I wish they could look like they do but feel more like my clionadh or terra Moons formulas.

Thanks SO much for all of your help.... I am always tempted to buy bundles but I find with this brand that not all of the shadows within a collection are all created equal, meaning some are more shiny and shifty than others. Plus some look similar within a collection, also not a deal when you bundle anyways which is another reason I'll be tempted to buy bundles. Great brand though and I am just taking my time weeding through what I want to add to my collection.
Very pretty. Cannot justify the cost when I can make cheaper ones look near as good. Just apply wet.

Im not gonna buy any because I dont like drier chunky loose sparkles formula shadows (prefer mine to be smooth and shiny and easy to use) but still enjoyed your swatches.

HELP! What indie shadows are the most sparkly/ shimmery?? What indie brands&shadows are your favorite for Sparkly shadows & shadow toppers??? I want to try some but wanted ur opinion 1st. I love these SD shadows especially the pinks,purples & blues. I love same type of shadows u do. More sparkly, shimmery than metallic, not chunky big glitters, small tiny soarkly shimmery glitters. Topper type Shadows with a lil bit of base & shadows with iridescent base, that are transformer shades that u can put on different colored matte shadows & it Transfirms them.❤😊❤

I feel like they are very similar to the pat mcgrath special shadows. I adore them and I'm always complimented on the shine shadows. However I wouldn't recommend them if you need them shipped to Australia as mine all came shattered :(
Did you contact the company?? The reason I ask is, if they don’t reimburse or resend new ones in a situation like that I don’t want to support them. I’ve had a few from other companies come broke and I swear in 2 days the replacements were in my mailbox. Customer service counts to me.
@@scray00 no I didn't as I could tell it was just the formula they have, which is beautiful but just not equipped for long distance travel. I buy all my indie shadows from Glaminatrix now as we live in the same town here in rural Australia, formulas are just as impressive and I know I'm going to get them safely.
Sorry that I couldn't be more helpful in terms of Shines CS but I didn't want to bother a small business but at the same time I've never purchased from them again.

intentional or not, i feel like you swatch wet too often. if intentional please say so. if not, properly dry your hand please.
How do you know her hands wet?? And if it actually is that would be more accurate to the colors presented by the website. All indie companies tell you to use a glitter glue with multichromes which is close to spraying your brush before applying.
I agree because it can be misleading if a formula that is normally very chunky or dry looks nicer when wet especially since chunky dry eye shadows tend to have more fallout and problems throughout the day even with glitter glue than well formulated glittery eyeshadows
