The song was named "Flight of the Toyota" internally (and was released as such in the JnG soundtrack collection), but for legal issues it had to be renamed for commercial release (the actual game).
I'm a huge fan of the original version (as well as a fan of the game and band in general), but wow, the lyrics work really well with this one. Its a whole new way to listen to the track.
I love all of this bands music, both instrumental and vocal. It took me a couple of listens to get used to the fact that they have a singer with a unique voice (yeah, I heard of them through Jets n' Guns too), but now I love it.
To be fair to some of the people on this board, I do agree that Machinae Supremacy should make an instrumental version of their albums. Even Lords of Acid did something like that. Which was awesome. Wouldn't hurt them, prolly make some extra cash. :) Or maybe toss 1-3 bonus tracks with instrumental versions for the purpose of making trailers, amv's, etc. :)
People are mentioning this song goes by the name "Toyota"... the bulk of this song is a intrumental from Jets and Guns, called "Flight of the Toyota". I prefer this version. So epic.
Just took the time to listen to the Jets N Guns instrumental version, and while it is a great track, I like this vocal version a lot better. Yes, the singer's voice is different from what you normally hear in rock, but that's is one of the main reasons why I like it so much.
Disagreed. The voice is much more interesting than most stupid mainstream harmony-distilled clones. It sounds just good enough to be beautiful without being rough, and just special enough to not be another mainstream voice. It's good and it fits the background music without being recitative with the lyrics.
Well, different tastes then :) I like the original just as much, I just don't think the vocals "overpower" the song, why not listen to both? But regardless, agree to disagree is a good middleroad for subjective matter.
Love This Band!!
