Metals and how to weld them...Properties of Metals
Carbon and low alloy steels is part 1, Coming next is properties of stainless steels, nickel alloys, aluminum, magnesium, titanium, cobalt, and copper alloys Наука
I've had this book since I was a weld inspector in the petrochem industry 25 years ago.
Great choice. Especially when explaining the grain types and hardening attributes.
Keep up the great work on the videos.
Love your tip about striking a corner of cast iron. One of the big problems in industry is finding out whether a part is cast iron or cast steel. This trick would help sometimes. The other thing we always did it to take a small sharp chisel and see if we could pull up a sliver or burr. If you can pull up a "shaving", it is cast steel. If you can't because the "shaving" keeps breaking, it is cast iron.
Great video, I'm a welding student, I learn tons from your videos and your the only one I trust to get true info from, one day I hope to have watched all your videos and have as much knowledge as you do and I really liked the outtake :-)
Thanks, this is a major area of weakness for me, and I appreciate the videos
I came here after signing up for your metallurgy course. Finally found somebody to explain the rationale for some of the numbers, thanks. I sent away and received the book -- Lincoln Foundation had a special deal for some of their other books as well, though they are quite dated. This vid is a great intro.
You are the smartest person i have evr seen in a video about welding. I have watched just about all of you videos even though some of them do not pertain to the work that i am currently involved with i may come acrossed it some day. If at all possible could you make some videos about welding out of position with gas shielded fcaw i got certified in the 3g positiin when i was in school but i like to see others techniches and try to intigrate them into my own to make myself more proficient.
thank you for another great video. this will be a great series.
i have learned so much threw the videos, especially the voltage and wire speed , 4 a rookie hobbyists welder this has taking me so far thank
The statement at the end about how welding is like heat treating is enlightening as to why grinding welds are such a pain.
Great video. Hope to someday see the other 4 of the series!
Excellent; will be looking forward to watch the rest of the series.
Thankyou, very informative and not boring to watch
Great video once again. Keep 'em coming ! Cheers from Belgium.
I just ordered that book off the jflf site and sitting down skimming through it. Great book it's a must read book great info
Doing alot of 4140 in my job there is a big learning curve for a guy that has done low carbon and AR plate for 20+ yrs. Proper preheat and post weld cooling is a large part of my job success. Proper alloy filler metal research for the application to s a must.
My welding instructor never wore a badass leather flight jacket, which probably explains why I've been welding almost 10 years and still don't know what I'm doing🤣
thanks for the lessons,
FANTASTIC! Keep 'em coming!
Informotive and interesting as always jody. Good job and thanks for the knowledge!
Presentation is great as always, and the content is timeless. Thanks Jody!
Good stuff Dude!!☺
@CoolasIce2 It's black because it absorbs the light
Fantastic welding info! (Who needs to spend money on an expensive DVD welding course when we have Welding Tips and Tricks!)
Very good!! Thank you for making videos
Don't like it - LOVE IT!
this series is super handy for me as a student!
Is there a playlist for this series ?
es mui bueno el video caballero estoi mui agradesido de su parte espero ver muchas cosas mas con todo respeto se le Saluda desde venezuela
again you are awsome. thanks again!
you can weld with mig magnesium and ironcoast and couplet thank you regard
Very useful, thank you!
is that the same everlast 250 ex welder that you have had since the first review on it? how are you liking it? I bought one for my first tig welder and it has been ggood to me
really helpful
thanks
excellent ,, thanks
hi why is my mig gasless welding brittle and not strong enough to hold
I'm looking into buying a TIG welder. Thinking either miller 180 tig or an Eastwood. There is a big difference in coast. What would be the best for my money. I don't know much about Eastwood
How small is the print?
Mr Jody!! Can calamine be welded??
All good books from the Lincoln Foundation, also books from The American Welding Society (AWS).
gREAT VIDS AS USUAL, but please, paint that wall a brighter color!
🔥🔥🔥🔥👍💯
12$ the book and 66.60 $ for shipping, Lincoln sucks. Bought it on e-bay for 35$ in the
UK, 0$ shipping.
Shamael Ben Shabbatai Lincoln doesn't set the postage rates.
Its a funny deal. Our government and other UN members help disadvantage countries and give them low postage rates (we can get parts from china for like $2, basically honoring their rate), but if we ship something its full price. So I guess I'm saying to order the book from china.
Im going to SKILLS USA!!!
I'm in Australia and can't get this book, unless I buy it from over seas, the book is cheap but they want 70 dollars postage, what a rip-off.
$10 + $52 postage to uk
