    Love me some banquet! I remember growing up and this was all my grandpa drank. He was the only one in our family that drank and now I'm the only one that drinks. I like to think this is something he passed down specifically to me! Cheers.

      You mind if I ask, you drink this beer often throughout the week?
      I have drank this beer and I like it, it's really crisp and refreshing.
      The reason I'm asking is because I'm trying to get an opinion, I think it's up to each person's tastebuds & opinion.
      I know there is no right or wrong answer but trying to find a good lower price beer that I could drink regularly throughout the week, and yes I know it all depends on how much you drink but I think there is some truth to the fact that some beers are less harsh on you than others the next day

    Creamy sweet corn! Just like the feilds far east of Denver (where I was born and raised)! Remember growing up working on my grandparents farm in southeast Colorado (Bristol to be specific). Mostly wheat production but we also busted out a whole bushel ton of ear corn. Now burning up in Vegas but still loving that flavor in a can from back home. Thank you Coors!

    Born and raised in Denver CO before moving to NV in my 30's this was, God rest his soul, my Dads only beer that he would drink. I still enjoy it to this day. And finding specials on a regular basis, like two 20 packs of the 12 oz. 1936 styled stubby bottles for $24, really makes this a regular in my beer fridge. Thanks for the review guys! And by the way I also am not any kind of a fan of the regular Budweiser or Light beers

    Coors Banquet beer developed a big mystique for me as a beer lover in NJ because it was not distributed east of the Mississippi. It was not until I attended a convention in Dallas around 1975 or so that I got to try it. It was in a tall 12 oz can and I sipped it with delight. It was smooth and clean with a refreshing finish. It was not until several years later that we got it with some regularity back east. I buy it every so often to remind me how enjoyable it is.

    Coors is tasty and I buy it from time to time...however in your opinion,though I'm still slightly confused about this brew as far as styles go because it's such a close call taste profile wise...Is Coors Banquet a true Lager or a true Pilsner???I have researched and realize the style of pilsner beer is from Czech in the city of Pilsen and that and that teeNager style originated in Germany and they differ in style because of the type of Hops used,Am I correct in understanding the over all difference historically Jay between a Lager style and a true Pilsner style??If you could do a video on the history of the pilsner/lager beer history in Europe that would be great! Cheers Jay!

    • @ronaldtheriot
      @ronaldtheriot  5 лет назад

      I don't really know enough about it, OC, but Coors is NOT a pilsner, true or mimicked. It's just an American-style adjunct lager, with odd banana notes.

    Hi Guys always enjoy your beer reviews; thank you. Do you remember when (1980's -Smokey and the Bandit days :-) Coors was only sold refrigerated and in my opinion had a completely different taste ( creamier and hoppy). It was only available out west and in very high Demand.. Today it is sold right on the un-refrigerated Walmart supermarket floor and is your basic forgetful generic American Lager . It is refreshing but compared to the way it use to taste it is designed for a mass market palette. Does anyone else remember this different more full flavor
    ?.

      No, because the only one they'd ever offer, at a banquet, is Coors Light.

  • @microcastleVS
    @microcastleVS 5 лет назад

    had this for the first time last week as the banquet isn't available Europe only the light...my buddy went over to cali and rather than get him to bring me back some huge double ipa I requested coors banquet!! hah. basically rave reviews from you and others led me to really wanna try it. t's a top notch beer in the same league as the big euro lagers for me....problem is that if it was available here it'd be marketed as a premium product and thus wouldn't be worth the price tag. this happened with pbr that became available and was sold for similar prices as craft beer. it's good in its own right but not for the price. same thing seems to happen in reverse for you guys...like stella and grolsh here are around 12-14 dollars for an 18 rack of pint cans (your pints not ours)

    • @ronaldtheriot
      @ronaldtheriot  5 лет назад

      Yeah, I am sorry that y'all have to deal with that. I can get a six-pack of 473-ml cans of Coors Banquet for about $4.75, here.

    Like you said Ron they get rid of a beer that is so good, like Coors Extra Gold and Busch Signature Copper Lager. It makes zero sense to me.Iv'e loved Coors Banquet beer since I first started drinking beer in 1980.

      I feel like people that like craft beers and world beers don't trust brands like Coors, and people that drink Coors or Budweiser stick to the one beer that they drink and don't venture out past their comfort zone. Personally I like beer in general if it's not too bad. I don't drink Budweiser or light beers, but love Coors, and like Miller and PBR. I also get excited when those breweries put out new products, but a bunch of people are either snobs, or like the routine beer that they drink. Big breweries putting out niche products are sadly never going to be good for business, which is really too bad because A lot of good products come and go to early. I also really miss Lucky Lager as well

    I used to enjoy “Coors Original” as it was called back then in the early 2000’s but I think they’ve further cheapened the recipe. I’ll pick of a tall can of the current version at the store few times a year- like tonight - but this stuff isn’t very good if you want to taste beer (no malt - just corn and ZERO hop bitterness)... sweet yuck.. Was on their website a short time ago, saw corn syrup and hop extract (no real hops) and the cheapness of the ingredients comes through in the taste. Drinkable if cold but there are many far superior AAL’s out there and this sh#% Is just fizzy corn water. No wonder Budweiser- even though in serious decline from its heyday- outsells it like 20 to 1.

      @ronaldtheriot  3 года назад

      I've not noticed any deterioration of it, but I don't drink it, regularly.
