Trailmakers Infinite Bomber Sea Plane With Gunner Seat

- Used the new boat keel and tail fin in this build. I tried to use the dinghy floats but they couldn’t support the weight, so switched to large pontoons.
Gunner seat operates guns and rockets only, pilot seats will also operate the bombs. Has 12 sequential bomb bays to allow for a constant flow of bombs, 4 mini guns, and 4 rocket launchers.
Based on the Short Sunderland Flying Boat.

Thanks! I tried a few different ways to glitch them together and thought this came out the best. There's no way that plane would have flown well without the jets engines.

the fact that it can move around and take off in the water is SO COOL. Also what's the top speed? im sure the turbine and large prop combo is very powerful but it is also a very large plane.
Thanks for saying that! It tops out at about 375kph. I spent a bit of time and build budget on the inside fixing up the aerodynamics. The nice thing about the propellers is that you can spin them backwards, so as long as the sea plane is stable you can back up hard and it'll point the nose up, then full throttle to shoot straight up.👍

@@mrec7512 The challenge I get most is trying to take off, sometimes the tail drags in the water
@@thepenguin9807 Yeah, the tail dragging or the pontoons catching a wave and nose diving in to the water. I've tried a few things that worked well for me. This one just has so much thrust, you just need to point the nose up and it'll follow. For my Fire Boss plane, I hid gimbals in the wings that would only run close to the water to help get a boost. It's fun to try to tackle the problems in different ways.👍

For a flying boat it was pretty maneuverable. I wish they had a lake or something on the Airborne map.

Hello! It's on the XBox gallery. I know they use different galleries for different platforms. I've seen PC builds in there, but I believe that you have to buy the game from XBox directly to get to them.

It's mostly based on the Short Sunderland Flying Boat, but I added gull style wings since it looked way cooler with them. I did reference the PBY-5 when I was looking at sea planes though. If I had the build budget to do it, I would have loved to have had landing gear on there. Thanks! 👍

maybe you should make a circuit that makes plane take off and fly in straight line, that way you can stage a cinematic bomber squadron scene
Thanks! I saw someone uploaded an auto pilot module they made to the gallery and it had me thinking about that. I don't know if it's just me or it's Trailmakers, but the new cinematic view shows the build mode view of things, not after the glitches kick in to make the shape, so it looks odd.
@@mrec7512you use glitches for the shapes?
@@Jake_Gotthard You can check out the build mode view at the beginning to see it unglitched. I used piston glitches to double up the weaponry and pull the gunner ball in, and the hinge glitch to get the front of the plane to blend in to the ball. That part was the most challenging of the build going from flat to a sphere. I'm really surprised at how popular this build has been. I've done 3 sea planes and all have gotten a lot of views. People seem to like them. Thanks! 👍

Nope! Im on XBox, so the build limit is legit. I'm kind of happy to have it though, otherwise I'd never finish anything. 😂
Did you attach a fucking propeller with custom propeller blades to a jet engine.
I sure did! haha. There's no way that the propellers alone would provide enough thrust to make it a fun ride. It was a challenge to get them to fit in there cleanly.

bro try and make a build without gyros
I’ve made plenty without them using powered fins on hinges for maneuvering. For giant builds it needs the extra push to fly the way I want them to. Truthfully though a gyro or a gimbal is a block in a video game. I don’t see why people consider it like a crime to use them.

Yaw?
It uses a gyro for steering at sea level that gets remapped to the yaw controls once it's in flight. No fin action though. Thanks!👍
