It might sound wierd but a lot of people just eat the quail whole. Bones and all.
It's bones are very crispy and crunchy and honestly tasty.
Mian Jee is just a truck stop chain now. IDK if they were good or not in the past but now they've become quite "commercial", they have this huge menu plastered outside their walls and you know that taking care of that many dishes at a transit stop is very difficult. The food is probably good enough to fill you up until the next stop but I'm guessing that all of it probably has to taste the same too. Oh and the daal is that loose to cut costs, a lot of restaurants do it, normally it's supposed to be the consistency of Haleem but without the meat fibers to give it that pull
Mian Ji is great if you go to the original restaurant.
