  • The Carnatic sangeet of southern India prefers a drum called Mridangam. It is the principal drum used in the performance of classical South Indian music and dance. This instrument is a single piece of wood that is hollowed out and has playing heads on both sides. The Mridangam is a south Indian representative of a class of instruments known as Mridang. The instrument Mridangam being a part of Indian classical music has also made a mark on devotional, theatre, and also in film music. It is a much-sought instrument in multicultural and fusion musical experiments. It is manufactured at Shanta Tabla Works in Bengaluru.

    Back ground music is loud, unnecessary and irritating.

    Voice quality is really poor. Why have you put background music? I had met Mr Srinivas, and he is very articulate in Mridanga making. In fact, he plays all these instruments very well and have performed in several concerts.

    You have spoken well. But did you such a music. It is very very irritating. If possible remove that back ground music.

  • @santharam1946
    @santharam1946 5 лет назад +2

    The background music is annoying and has more volume than the speaker. Please remove it. At the end his playing mridanga is not audible due to the unwanted background music. Who edited the video so stupidly ?

    First of all no background music is needed. If at all, it should be used with a soft volume that too while there is no talking/sound demo in the video itself. And what the hell is this guitar music doing in a mridangam demo! While so many Tamil videos proudly use a traditional carnatic music (sometimes mridangam itself) as background music, we feel too inferior to use it; we need some jazzy cinematic music!!! This whole video sounds like a bad guitar concert rather than a mridangam demo.
    Ofcourse, with due respects to the mridangam making artisan.
