Maybe you should stick to the vids which actually teach you why a certain button does what it does and not watch tutorials which call fuctionality "Something or Whatever".

Legit just learning how to make my own sounds now and the only feedback I have gotten was "can you make it heavier?" - welp, thanks to you, Yes. Yes I can do that. I am using only your techniques shown in this video here to try and make the back and forth slash and stab part not shown and through trial and error I am in the ballpark but not quite nailing it. Are there any other tidbits you got to create that intermediary sound that swipes back and forth before the synth stab that layers over the snare? It sounds like it would be simple but really to make it really feel slashy like that has been elusive
