How would you use zoho for more of a manufacturing application? I am a handmade seller so I get an order, make it, ship it. I need to keep my raw materials as inventory not items purchased for resale. I have zoho books and inventory. What do you suggest to make this work?
Hi 3Mfarm! Manufacturing is tricky to manage within Zoho Books + Inventory. The best way to approach it is with composite items. You can use your raw materials as components, and the finished good as the composite. Then, when you produce new finished goods, you can run a "bundle" activity for that composite item to move the inventory from the raw materials to finished good SKUs.
It should be included in your Zoho One licensing as of now, but it's just not added to the Zoho One UI. If you reach out to Zoho support, they should be able to help you get your account set up.
Projects: my only concern is to add external contractors to enter time and I NEED to add them as a paid user. That could change because sometime it's incidentally that some enter time for our projcets.
One workaround for this (not perfect) is to set up a Zoho Form that is sent to external contractors to enter this time. It can be automatically sent based on Task status updates, and you'll need to include the Project and Task ID as hidden pre-filled fields on the Form. Then, when it is submitted, you can run it through a Zoho Flow to create a Time Entry under that Task. You will need to have a general "External Contactor" user in Projects for this time to be logged under, but at least you won't need a use account for every single Contactor.
So If I am hearing correctly. The woes for zoho are with apps that use video and or voice. Choppy, poor recording processes, and low resolution. My question is how does that improve?
Sound improvements can be done using personal extensions like Krisp. Video choppiness is not a serious drop related issue but not a seamless backdrop functionality like Zoom and if you your user has very limited internet the sound or video will be compromised, pick sound and leave the video which is why this works for internal communication.
We love Zoho Books internally and it's on the stronger side of the Probably list. However, there are a few limitations that make it tough to recommend for ALL industries. One example is that is doesn't really support proper progress billing in the way that most construction/contractors require.
Great breakdown guys, really appreciate it. Just moved to Zoho One yesterday. Starting with CRM and will branch from there.
Having live Analytics in Show is pretty incredible. 👍
