I love the acting here. Mulder knows Scully is near death so there's no point in being reserved about his feelings for her. He wasn't sure at all she would live at this point.
By far my favourite Mulder/Scully moment of all time. Mulder is just so tender and loving to her. And I just cannot get enough of Scully's mum calling him "Fox". Ugh gives me the feel every f-n time.
Love their undying will the protect each other even if it costs them their own lives...also love Mulders trust in skinner, I have been rewatching so many X files episodes of late...this show is so timeless...I never once felt like I'm watching a show that's 20 years or so old...a classic.

So many good parts to this scene, but another one is at the very beginning when Mulder arrives to see her. In the previous scene when he visited the hospital, Scully was unconscious and looked an inch from death. When Mulder saw she was looking much better here, the immediate smile on his face just shows the obvious love he has for her. Since he rarely shows this side of himself to her, it made it that much more special.
I love this 3 part "arc". I am probably alone but, I think this is the point where their relationship changes. Each sees what the other is willing to go through for the other. Mulder shows his love and respect for Scully in the hallway with Bill, realizing it isn't the time, or place for a knock-down drag out with him. He just let's out his breath and agrees with him about little green men. Remembering how he corrected Colton in S:1 EP: 3 they are grey. Their body language changes, Mulder kisses her face, and she doesn't want to let go of his hand fearing she'll never see him again if he leaves. Just great acting and story lines.

This is when Mulder finally realized that he's in love with Scully. That explains the change in his behavior toward her after season 4 finale. He tries to deal with his feelings and figure out what to do about it. Whether to confess or keep it to himself.
He knew he was in love with long before now. He just never accepted the fact she would love him back. Maybe he figured it out when she told him to "lay it on me." Either way one of the best scenes in the entire series.

Yeah, it's right. I hated Bill Scully because of the way he treated Mulder. He's an FBI agent, a bit of respect. But I'm not saying that Bill has to respect him because of his career. Bill should respect him because Mulder is Scully's life, Scully's soulmate. Cmon, everyboody seeing them together would say that they love each other or they are a couple, so it's impossible that Bill didn't notice the connection between Mulder and Scully.
It's pretty clear that Bill puts a lot of the blame for what happened to Melissa on Mulder. And now his other sister is dying as well because of her investigations into the X-files, which is run by Mulder. I can understand him not liking Mulder, but the overt hostility is a bit much. It's clear to anyone that Mulder and Scully are special to each other, even if the relationship is still platonic at this point.
@@tonyc7301 yeah It's plausible that he doesn't like Mulder, but you can almost touch the strong and pure connection between them. It's just about respect, but not for Mulder, but for Scully. I don't think that Scully would have liked to see her soulmate being insulted by her Brother.
I love this scene, what she’s prepared to do for him and he would never let her. Beautiful. But then after all this, and then they wrote One Son where Mulder refuses to choose Scully and give her his trust. Bad writing broke this show.
I think its the opposite. He listened to her concern, thats why he broke in to Diana’s apartment. And Scully gave him a choice at the end. “I’m going. With or without you” he was about to give up the fight and save himself with Diana, but when Scully refused to go with him he chose to go with Scully. Knowing it wouldn’t end well. He would rather die with Scully than live with Diana.
One of the few male and female parnterships on tv that EVERYBODY wanted to see "hook up/get intimate" but never did. Im glad Chris Carter/the writers kept it that way. No "they quit the F.B.I., got married, had kids and grew old together" bull sh*t series ending.. 🤝👍 Just to think, in real life, David Duchovony was a sex addict, who was married to Tea Leoni and had to go to rehab to get help..

I think Mulder not having it out with Bill is due to the fact he'd get battered, more than out of respect for Scully.
