5 out of 6 in my family have strong out of sight, out of mind tendencies. Clutter Bug on youtube has been very helpful in learning our organizing styles & organizing in ways that works for everyone in the house. Plastic bins & trays wash easily in sink or dishwasher. No reason to replace them.

Thanks Liz. I picked up some great ideas. I am in the process of pulling out, sorting & tossing. Once I get to the organizing phase of what is left I will be re-watching this video for inspiration.
I am also very visual and my art room is small and I keep trying to arrange it in a way to give me more room to keep stuff in sight so I remember to use it too.
I also love to organize (drives hubbie nuts!). You gave me some great ideas. The caddys will corral all the loose stuff in the bathroom closet. Thanks!

Tank tops- use a metal chain(I like the white coated ones) grab a couple packs of 12 shower curtain rings, I prefer the metal wire looking ones that are easy open and close... hang a tank on each ring attach rings to the chain! Best tank top organization ever
I’ve just learned this about myself I’m very visual I need to see my stuff only problem is I also like to be tidy it’s very conflicting so I’ve decided clear bins will be my goal for next year for storage. Wish me luck I hope it works.
For my kids projects and crafts, I take digital pics of them, or scan them in or take a pic of my child holding it. They each have an art folder on my computer and are subdivided by years. We may keep super super good projects, but I have a very small area in my filing cabinet for that. But I have 5 kids, so digital was the best way for us💜 They love being able to click through all the art in their digital folder and enjoy the years of art.
Liz, love the video. Thank you for showing us "real life" places to organize. When my girls were little they kept their hair accessories, then their make up in those Kaboodles. I use one for my Shi tzu's grooming supplies. Have a great weekend!
I had to giggle when I saw your bins for the children's art work. I did this too years ago for my kids. About two years ago, both of my children (in their late 30's) were home with their spouses and kids so I brought up their bins for them to take home. As they went through their artwork, report cards, and projects it brought back precious memories for me. My daughter and daughter-in-law both enjoyed going through everything. . .my son said it was as much fun as sorting through the recycling bin. My daughter kept about a quarter of her stuff and the things my son kept didn't even fill a brown lunch bag. . . hehehe!!! (He did find $2 in one of his report cards, probably slipped in there by his Grandmom!) You are a good Mom and this is what all good Mom's do!!! Keep sharing your tips and have a healthy, happy new year!!!
I’m the same way. I do not organize in the beginning I let things accumulate just to see what I truly need/use. Of course it’s not like a full on mess either. For example I moved from a one bedroom apartment to a 3 bedroom house with a living room and den. So trust me I have lots of cabinets, closets, and storage furniture. But I just let things accumulate and once it was decent in size I went and purchased small containers to group items.
Great organisational tips Liz especially for keeping or not keeping the kids projects/school work! Could have done with that tip many years ago lol The lunch tote is a fab idea for making my husbands lunch for work ! Keep up the good work ! Thanks 😀
If I can't see it I forget I have it!! I tried the one bin for each child for school art and would get rid of the majority of the papers. My daughter is almost 23 and still brings up all the artwork I threw away!! Can't win for trying 🤣
Great ideas...only concern I had was what you did with old plastic containers. Seemed wasteful unless you reuse. Im not trying to be negative or critical. I’m barely learning myself how to reduce my carbon footprint. We don’t need to be too extreme. Small changes can make a big difference.
I zip-tied the bases of 4 of those silver paper towel holders together to create a plate rack for my cupboard. They were precisely the right height for my cupboard and wouldn't have fit if the upper shelf were ANY lower. The benefit of using the paper towel holders instead of the napkin holders that match is that the bigger plates don't tip it over. I think the napkin holders would work fine, if you use alien tape or command hooks to hold them in place.
I am so excited. I copied your idea for your copper mirror a few months ago and put it in my antique booth. It sold today! Thank you for all of your great ideas. I love watching your videos.
I use a cloth hanging shoe organizer to get my daughter’s clothes ready for 10 days and checklists for nighttime and morning time so we never forget anything. I keep a snack bin under the seat in the back of my truck so we have healthy snacks on the go. I started keeping a survival bag in my truck depending on the season. I ALWAYS hide $20 somewhere in the vehicle and my jewelry box in case my husband or I need it. I make a habit to throw away trash in vehicle when I put gas in the car which helps a lot! I also Velcro two cloth shoe organizers to my trash cans so I want forget to put one back in. BUT OF COURSE MY FAMILY IS LAZY LOL 😂! So I then started putting 3 trash bags in the trash can and added command hooks to the sides to hold the bags in place! Now when you take out trash another bag is already in there.
Make lunches the night before. I’m the “grandma cook” in this house and making lunches for a few grandkids and 2 parents that are 1st responders I make lunches at night! I also get snacks ready for after school the night before.
I like your ideas! I wish I had known the scrunchy and children’s school papers system ideas sooner! Your storage for projects finished and projects to do-genius! Thank you! I just had to subscribe!
I like the “Caboodles” to hold goodies from your girls birthday parties as favors! Then you could personalize them with the cricket. Oh yaas! 💖🦩Perhaps move the medicine to a higher shelf? I’m old enough to remind you. 😉
Im diabetic and i use the caboodle to hold all my diabetes supplies. Its good to move from my bedroom at night to the kitchen during the day when I am awake everything together i occasionally sleep at my moms and i know I wont forget anything as its already packed. This can also make a great 1st aid kit for the car or for summer issues like bee stings tweezers for splinters first aid creams bandages sunblock bug spray.

For a quick lazy Susan, I used 2 Dollar Tree cake pans. Stacked them and between them put BB’s left over from a pattern weight making project. It holds my most often-used spices & seasonings. Spins easily.
I’m definitely a visual person, you’re not alone.
You seem to be the only RUclipsr I watch that uses shelf liner. Thank you so much! I was always taught to use shelf liner to save from staining on your actual cabinet drawers.
Hi Kit W. I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you for watching my videos. 😍
Great organizing tips, Liz! It's amazing how messy closets and spaces can get.
5 out of 6 in my family have strong out of sight, out of mind tendencies. Clutter Bug on youtube has been very helpful in learning our organizing styles & organizing in ways that works for everyone in the house.
Plastic bins & trays wash easily in sink or dishwasher. No reason to replace them.
true
If you see no other comment but this one, YES!! GO check out Cas at Clutterbug! She has different techniques for different organizing styles and she is absolutely amazing! Uses ALOT of dollar store items as well!
I love Cass. Been following her for years.
Liz, great organization tips. You have given me inspiration to finally organized (declutter as well) my bathroom. I have need to sort through the old nail polish and toss the old and organize the new... Thank you for sharing.
Hi brenda sanchez. It's my pleasure to share. 😄
Thanks Liz. I picked up some great ideas. I am in the process of pulling out, sorting & tossing. Once I get to the organizing phase of what is left I will be re-watching this video for inspiration.
I use the “kaboodle” in the car for a custom first aid kit. Especially the Bandaids, cold packs and bee sting treatment! 🙏🏻❤️
Thanks!
I really enjoyed this video, I’m a organizing kind of gal and this video gave me some great ideas.. Thank you for sharing!
Liz you are not alone! I am a visual person as well!
For us cosmetologist State board requires us to have clean and soiled items in a closed container..by your sanitizer, disposable paper towels and closed trash basket or laundry basket for soiled item including hand towels basket
Tank tops- use a metal chain(I like the white coated ones) grab a couple packs of 12 shower curtain rings, I prefer the metal wire looking ones that are easy open and close... hang a tank on each ring attach rings to the chain! Best tank top organization ever
Thank you for this! I don’t have much money because I’m young but I love to decorate! And organize
Love the kid’s bins for projects
Hi Sabra S. Thank you for taking the time out of your day to watch my channel. 😍
Could have done with that tip many years ago lol
The lunch tote is a fab idea for making my husbands lunch for work ! Keep up the good work ! Thanks 😀
I am quitting work at end of February. Plan on doing some major decluttering and organizing in March. Thanks for the tips.
Love the dollar tree. I use the same little caddies for medicine and first aid in the linen closet. Keep up the great videos. Love watching.
Store the markers on their side or they will dry out faster. I learned that the hard way
Yes! I was thinking she could still use the same containers, just glue them together and turn the whole thing on its side.
Or put the markers in upside down
The caboodles I use them for period kits for female family members birthdays or for kids hair bands or art supplies
If I can't see it I forget I have it!! I tried the one bin for each child for school art and would get rid of the majority of the papers. My daughter is almost 23 and still brings up all the artwork I threw away!! Can't win for trying 🤣
Thank you for this video! I am wanting to organize my house more! Thank you for the ideas!
Great ideas...only concern I had was what you did with old plastic containers. Seemed wasteful unless you reuse.
Im not trying to be negative or critical. I’m barely learning myself how to reduce my carbon footprint. We don’t need to be too extreme. Small changes can make a big difference.
I totally agree. Thanks for saying this and saying it in a kind way!
The little caboodle I use as a grab and go sewing kit I keep handy.
That's great! I wish you all the best on your project, Christine Wilson. 😍
Love the tips! I organized my linen closet with those bins and it's awesome. I labeled them and it's so easy to keep organized. Thank you!
That's great! I wish you all the best on your project, Karen Kent. 😍
I have been putting off reorganizing several spaces in my house. You have inspired me to get it done this weekend, label maker in hand. 😁
I’m very visual also. Thanks for all these ideas!
I too use craft items and like them out where I’ll see them therefore more likely to use them!
That's great! I wish you all the best on your project, Sandi Grace Kay Suchey Reynolds. 😍
I have been using a paper towel holder for scrunchies for months and it such a life saver
You're kickass! Thank your family 4 their services during this pandemic & thank u4 taking care of them all!!🙏
❤👊💙
I like your ideas! I wish I had known the scrunchy and children’s school papers system ideas sooner! Your storage for projects finished and projects to do-genius!
Thank you! I just had to subscribe!
I'm so glad you liked it, Sue Ellen Nakamura! Stay tuned for more fun videos. 😊
The sandwich station in the fridge is genius!
Hi Ashley Sanden. I really appreciate you saying that. Thank you for watching my videos. 😍
Best way to store markers is tip end down. They stay fresh longer.
I am also a visual person. I like to see items I can use to use them.
The paper towel holder is good for scrunchies but I find a large carabiner works better. Much easier to un-clip an pull off the one you want.
Hi Ro! Thanks so much for watching my video. 😊
I’m visual too.. I need to see what I have to craft with and it’s inspirational too 🎨 TFS
Hi Cher Brannon. It's my pleasure to share. 😄
I like the “Caboodles” to hold goodies from your girls birthday parties as favors! Then you could personalize them with the cricket. Oh yaas! 💖🦩Perhaps move the medicine to a higher shelf? I’m old enough to remind you. 😉
Great idea!
Liz just an idea ,what I did with my kids artwork mind you they’re in their 20s now.lol I took a picture of each one of them had them print it off and put them in a photo album. So now they have photo albums with their artwork from kindergarten all the way up and it’s organized. Now mind you I did keep a few and framed them and put them on the walls
Hi Monique Frederic. Thanks for letting me know!💕
