Silver didn’t have any meaningful bond with Kenny, if that’s true then you can also say the same for Robby too, Silver taught Robby a great lesson as well. Silver as a business man just picked Kenny back in S4 because Kreese picked the strongest, Robby, and Silver had to pick the opposite to still find a clever way to beat Kreese. And Kreese was shocked it worked. Silver’s lesson to the class was about weakness, he’s a good sensei from what I can see 😊 Kenny’s character is too mediocre to give such a compliment to him. Silver is the best, and by S5 he was left with Robby and Kreese’s leftovers, Kenny being one of them. It was Kim who pointed Kenny out as being full of potential, to Silver’s surprise. If they make it all mushy gushy that’s gross. Silver even told Johnny, I’m gonna take care of Robby as long as he’s in my dojo, he gave him the best prom ever and Robby somehow ends up bitter, so the same for Kenny I’d say, Robby was Kenny’s best friend if anything. But Kenny simply wanted to be Cobra Kai, just like Stingray, not because of Silver.
