I have always had CURLY/FRIZZY hair. I read the book Curly Girl, bu have not tried this. It appears to be fairly time consuming. How often do you wash/dry your hair?

I wish my hair was still that thick!! It has thinned so much..
I noticed you used Treseme hair product. Did you know that there are law suits against that brand for hair loss? I used the shampoo and conditioner for a long time but I stopped. I'm wanting to try the Dream Wow product. They say it is wonderful...

You look amazing! I am 58 and it is so refreshing to see a middle aged woman give this presentation. I have very thick hair also and I am going to try this method. My crown is thinning out but I think this will help my hair to be much healthier. Thank you! You look much younger than 60! I was surprised.

I have naturally curly/wavy hair that I am growing out of a pixie cut. I will try this method tomorrow when I wash my hair. I currently use shampoo conditioner and then curly mousse and the diffuser, but it is different when your hair is short and very thick. I have never thought about using gel but I will pick some up. I use a little bit of leave in hair cream to make my hair less crunchy at the end. It usually stays good for 3 days and then I do a refresh so that I only wash it once or sometimes twice a week .

Hello good will prevail, your comment about the hair on your crown thinning out definitely caught my attention. You can solve that by taking estradiol ( and progesterone if you have a uterus) I bring up this topic with every lady lately because I finally found out that's what's been going wrong with me and my doctors had no clue. Find menopause taylor here on RUclips she will teach you. There are a few reasons for women thinning hair but the biggest reason is the lack of estradiol do to ovary aging.
Of course taking estradiol also stops hot flashes night sweats stop osteoporosis and many other good health benefits

I'm going to try this! My entire life my hair has been fuzzy and frizzy and "not straight". When I would tell hair stylists that the underside was wavy they would tell me wavy hair wasn't a thing. 🤷🏻‍♀️
Luster's Pink products aren't really obscure. They're made to care for hair of African heritage...and they're a proudly owned African-American company. 🥰 I never considered that my Mediterranean heritage might be the reason I needed a different product for my hair. I have spent my life using products made for flaxen, shiny straight hair. Not for coarse, wiry, textured hair. I'm really glad you tried this shine product and it worked. I am going to try, too!

Thank you for this!! Also, you inspire me because our hair is so similar. I'm the same age and my hairs are more thin, but I have a huge head of hair! Because I have so much hair I've been thinning it out (especially in this year's insanely hot summer). I'm kind of wishing I hadn't now, cuz your's looks so amazing!

I've had curly hair my whole life & yes it took quite a few years to come to terms with it. Yes I use a leave-in conditioner after washing, & also don't brush out my hair every night - just turns back into frizz! I give it a good brush before washing it to get out loose hairs. However I don't go through the t-shirt routine! After the leave-in, I just air-dry my hair & floof it up every 15 mins or so, & never use a hair-dryer (but I live in a warm climate). I only wash my hair every 4/5 days. But the MOST important thing is to find a hairdresser who knows how to cut curly hair- it's an art, & if your hairdresser is cutting your curly hair like straight hair, it ain't going work. Good luck fellow Curly-Tops!

Wow! Your hair looks amazing! I’m 54. My hair is similar. Very thick and wavy. But it varies -- very curly on the bottom, but more straight on top. I tend to just put in back in a pony tail because I don’t know how to style it. I went to a curly girl stylist once that charged $200 to show me how to hold curls, but my hair just looked and felt wet. I’m going to try this!

OMG- I have been doing this to my curly hair for about 25 years .. I have never seen anyone else do it the same way as me.. It took me 30 years of trial and error before I figured out how to take care of my curls with doing this routine...
The only thing I do differently is, I wrap my hair in a white cotton t-shirt straight out of the shower but I am going to try your method with the long sleeve tshirt ..
Thank you for making my day, I thought I was the only one who had a weird hair care routine and that nobody would understand why I go thru all these steps when most people can wash and dry their hair in a few minutes...
ALso, I only wash my hair once per week... My hair is way too dry to wash it more often than that!

My hair looks exactly like the "before" picture in the thumbnail for this video when I do that. Fuzzy triangle head :) Hugs!

@@TheresaRene360 I wish curly hair care was taught in beauty school so they know not to scrub the ends of curly hair during shampooing. They just don't understand that when rinsing the shampoo off the scalp that the ends will get clean from the run off. Nor do they know that curly hair does not produce enough oils to reach to the end of the hair shift.
Whoever cuts your hair does a fantastic job, your layers are perfect!! I have a hard time finding someone who can layer my hair correctly.

Great video! During last year's lockdown, I let my super-short pixie (of many, many years) grow out--glad I didn't have to go out that much during the process! Anyway, I always thought I had semi-wavy hair. It's quite thick. Well, when I wore it very long in my 20s and 30s, I brushed right through it everyday, so it was more fuzz than wave. This time around, (I'll be 70 in a few weeks), I'm treating it as CURLY HAIR, and wow! It really is curly! It's very fun. A lovely (I think) salt and pepper. I've never seen so many curly hair videos and how-to's, so lots of women must be discovering the same thing... Thanks for sharing, Theresa!

Yep, didn't realize how curly my hair actually is. Always knew I had some curl in the back as hairdressers have been telling me that since I was a child. Took when I turned 52 or so that I was sick of my hair and tried improving health of my bleached hair and as it got healthy it got curly. I have curlier hair than this woman in the video, ringlets even lately 2c to 3a. Surprised me!

I am 40 have had straight hair all my life until about 3 years ago.. my hair started to get wavy. Recently, I've noticed it is getting curlier and curlier as I let it dry naturally. I have started to straighten my hair, until I decided TODAY that I will start embracing the curls. Now I'm on the search for the best way to work with my "new" curls and this is a great video to help me! Thank you so much!! Can't wait to try this method!

Well, Theresa, this is such a good look for you. I hadn't guessed you had curly hair and I can usually tell. I, too, have curly hair so can usually spot a sister! It is a more youthful look too. I always notice my lines and wrinkles more when my hair is straight. Perhaps the curls distract the eye! Welcome to the club!

I am a fellow curly haired lady. I love my curls but a lot of people do not like having curly hair! 5 of my 8 kids have curly hair. The most beautiful curls! My 1 son died as a baby but he had long curly hair. My 17 yr old son hates his curly hair and gets it chopped off a lot. My oldest daughter has straightened hers so much the curls are gone. My other 2 daughters have beautiful long curly hair. 1 wears it down sometimes my other daughter wears hers up most always. I guess it is quite funny if you have curly hair you straighten it. If you have straight hair you curl it. I say just be happy with what God gave!.

THANK YOU SO MUCH for making this video! I have similar hair and for many years I thought my curl was lost due to years of straightening. I'm 50 and all of a sudden I haven't been able to style my hair in a way that I liked. My hairdresser told me I needed to use more product but I didn't know where to start. I followed your method exactly and it came out fabulous! It looks youthful again and it looks like I have tons of hair! You have helped me feel good about my hair and my appearance...you're a wonderful human being. Thank you!

From one curly girl to another.....you look absolutely AMAZING!! You were right in saying that what works for one may not work for another. I use far less products because I have low to med density hair. I always clarify at least once a month and have my ends trim about every 8 to 12 weeks. Takes a little bit of work to keep those curly locks looking good but well worth the effort. Congrats on your new look!!

When I first started watching your videos I had a sneaking suspicion that you were actually a curly girl. I, like you, forced my hair straight my entire life up until about 3 years ago. I stopped fighting it, with all the heat and humidity here in Louisiana, I realized it was a losing battle I was tired of fighting and embraced my natural hair pattern and now I’ve been doing curly girl method for almost 3 years. Your hair looks AMAZING! love it! I know for me, it feels so nice to just finally embrace my hair and let it be what it wants to be, and now it’s more curly than I ever thought my hair could be. Your hair is amazing and you are so beautiful! My pin straight hair turned wavy in middle school and I straightened it ever since, which propelled me into a damaging cycle. The best thing I learned from this video and I've used it since the first time I watched it, is rinsing the conditioner. I spent so much time fussing with splashing water on my hair to try to rinse out sone of it, but leave some in while doing all that squishing ( as I've seen demonstrated in virtually all CGM videos). It took FOREVER. Now I rinse the conditioner, and if I feel like it I will add a tiny bit to the end and do the little bit of splashing which is a fraction of what it needed before. Thank you so much!

At first you will find it irritating because you are habituated to brushing your curls or not using leave-in, etc… but with two to three washes you will be ok. Remember not to brush your curls when its dry and always scrunch the products in.

Thank you for this video - I have naturally curly hair that I hated so most of my life have styled it straight. The whole point of going curly to me is to reduce the time needed to style hair - I watched many curly girl videos and they were just too much work. Your video is the only one I've seen that really boils down the process of how, when and what to use and so clearly explains how to get lift on the top and how to tweak once dry. I used your tips yesterday (without diffusing) and ended up with perfect not frizzy curls!!

Hi Mindy - I used to think that I was the only one with this particular hair type. SO many of you ladies have said that you have the exact same hair type and texture! People with thin hair will often say that we are "lucky" to have super thick hair, and to a degree I suppose they are right. BUT - the time and effort that goes into making our hair type look half way descent is the draw back.
