Twilight is a household name for millennials. Vampires, werewolves and heart throbs were all we needed to pass time during the painstaking years of middle school. We laughed and cried along Bella and Edward as their romance blossomed in the books, but were we as taken back when our favourite characters hit the big screen? In today's video, we’re going to be comparing the on-screen cast to the character descriptions found in the books. Was the matching as perfect as we hoped? Do the actors and actresses cast into our favourite roles make sense? Or were the characters a better fit in our day dreams? We’ll be looking at the casting decisions for our frontrunners Edward, Bella, Jacob but also a handful of the Cullen siblings. Age, physical differences, and unfortunate CGI are just a few of the problems with the on-screen portrayals in comparison to the book descriptions. Come see for yourselves and let us know if you agree or disagree with the casting decisions! Because they have eyes. A couple of years ago, the Golden Ratio was applied to Rob's face and it was determined he is the ideal of male beauty. He has perfect proportions and features--eyes, nose, mouth and JAWLINE. No one is better looking than him.

Casting was pretty awesome.. What sucks now is the hateration that Robert Pattinson has for the role that made his damn career.
I have watched interviews of him dissing the role of Edward Cullen, which I think is a cheek considering it opened doors for him. Stephanie Meyers must get offended when she hears Robert dissing her series!
@@lynnemc1424 He was refreshingly honest in 2008, before the film even came out. He thought he was making a little indie teen vampire movie no one would see. He had no idea it would become a phenomenon because of him. All he said was true, and funny.
You'd hate it too if it was ridiculously tacky and you had to work for an additional ten years to make great directors want to work with you. It didn't make his career, it made him rich and famous. HE made his career by avoiding other franchise junk and doing spectacular indies like The Lighthouse, Good Time, The Rover, etc.

I like the first movie Victoria I thought she was perfect as someone who’s read the books and I thought Mackenzie Foy was perfect for her roll too.
If Dakota Fanning cut her hair she would have fit the role of Jane perfectly that’s the only thing I would change.

I felt they did a good job with casting Victoria with Rachelle Lefevre, and they did make her hair red in the second movie, which they should have done with the first. Too bad it didn't work out for her to be in the third.
Now I have to say one thing about all that you said you are wrong about Mackenzie because she literally nailed it and she could play it better than anybody else besides she's one of my favorite actor

I don't get it, but has anyone ever given a thought about how different people were in their 20s in the 1600s? A 24 yo would have pretty much looked like a 40 yo looks today, so there is NO ISSUE with Carlisle or Alice's casting in my opinion. Come on, guys, just look at those photos from the early 1900s... My late granny was born in 1912 and she looked like a 40 yo when she was 29... 😅
That's not how bodies work... A 24-year-old in the 1600s would still have looked like a 24-year-old. It was the perception of maturity that was different and clothing and hairstyle has a big part in that. If you were actually from the early 1900s you would easily be able to tell that someone looks young, just like we see teenagers today and you can just tell they're teenagers even though so many dress like adults.
@@itrickyalove sorry, but science and history prove you wrong. Just the sheer life expectancy has changed drastically over the years, and this has diluted the ageing. So, a 24 year-old in the 1600s with a life expectancy of 50 years, would indeed look like a present day 40 year-old. Science, not fantasy.

I thought the casting was so brilliant; each actor made their part their own and stayed with the book. Edward and Kristen were beyond perfect. I loved all the friends at the school. I loved the baseball game and the dancing guy, just everyone. Billy Burke was shining in his role. I loved all the Resnesmes. The actors had to put up with a lot of discomfort - especially the contact lenses which might have been too much of a push on them -- but what great sports they were and very devoted and they made a masterpiece together. The subject might have seemed totally impossible but isn't that what we are looking for in our entertainment -- a life outside of what we live everyday, and the surprise of something new? Pattinson is a rare find and his light is soaring. I hope he never has any plastic surgery on that already perfect face. He will never need it. Good luck to all.I will follow your wonderful careers because I love films. Thank you.

Dakota Fanning was better than book Jane. I think the problems with Renesme were more with the difficulty of portraying the uniqueness of her character than the casting. Best casting hands down was Charlie. Billy Burke stole the show.
