Honestly, if there were a mashup between the two universes, I’d love to see Toph actually teach Terra on how to actually improve on her skills. I think that Terra would be able to grow a WHOLE lot more in that sense.
I'm not sure their powers translate well to each other. Terra does have potential and abilities Toph doesn't like how she can actully uses earth to levitate in the air. I don't even think Toph can do that. She also managed to drown Raven in mud and she was letting her trigon side take control too.

But Toph is pretty much the element earth incarnate. In her old age, her seismic sense was so great she could feel people on the other side of the world.

She legit just ROLLS UP on Suyin, Lin, Bolin and Opal in Korra season four AFTER they’d just been flying around on a SKY BISON 👏 The incredible accuracy and precision she’d need to be able to pinpoint them is insane. Even though I'm more a Toph fan but I will give one thing that might gives Toph a disadvantage, Terra's power to make rock float. While, Toph is one of the best rock benders she still needs to rely on vibration as her sight ability and if Terra plan to beat Toph she needs to make sure she's off the ground or else
Actually it does depend on the version of terra you’re going with comic book terra is a different story but toph is still probably going to win but comic book terra would have a higher chance of lasting longer in the fight than the tv show version

For one we have never seen Toph bend something outside of an immediate area even in her old age we see her get overwhelmed by just a few dozen people in metal suits and one highly skilled Earth Bender. Depending on which timeline of the comics we are talking about Terra has manipulated tectonic plates which means she has a seriously huge advantage in range. She is also fighting people with superhuman durability and strength and not just normal humans that are taken out with a single stone throw.

Yeah Toph's earthbending is insane she held up the entire Wan Shi Tong library by herself. The part she was holding was just the upper tip. But go back in the episode and look at the entire scale of the library opposed to the tiny part that was exposed. That giant pillar was miniscule compared to the building itself.
If you used Terra from that specific show, then I can see why Toph can win. But if you were to pick a more developed version of her in the comics, it would be a closer match

Able to fly using any form of rock. Able to make creatures composed of rock and stone. Manipulation over lava and magma. Rapid healing factor. Heat resistance. Ps: comic Terra was able/did all this at 25 so no need for 30 years. And saying that toph would be to much to handle at 18 is a theory. That’s not a actual fact or feat. Your not the writer so u can’t predict what happens in the future of the series. And correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t toph over 18 in the legend of korra? Plus King Bumi (one of the best earthbenders) was like 112 years old and his highest feat was probably lifting Ozai’s statue.

Ok, here is something people don't consider, if terra stays floating in the air (her rocks don't have to be connected to the ground), toph won't be able to see her, and at that point toph is helpless (I like both characters but people don't seem to be considering this)
Even though it's hard it's not a long time since I could find the feeds but talk and even move continents and move Titanic plates. She was able to recreate the entire city of Boston say to scale with just sand with just a shift of a heel. People keep thinking I'm referring to the little one when she didn't when she was a kid but no she redoes that at some point in the comics to life size as an adult. She truly becomes another level

Toph is one of my all time favorite female characters. Bias aside She’d still stomp so hard. As a kid she invented metal bending and beat the avatar. As an adult effectively utilized metal bending into functional police weapons and tools. And as an old lady she beat the avatar. AGAIN😂
I mean not as an old lady, that was training sessions and Korra was poisoned with Mercury at the time so was no where near full power. Also when she fought Aang it was also just training or sparring neither was going all out.

That’s a good question, but I personally think Toph would still take it soully due to her connection to the Earth and the fact she literally bends it As opposed to Terra (in every version I’m aware of) where she just has Geokenesis Not even mentioning Top’s metal bending which I’m fairly certain Terra would lose any footing she would have if Toph whipped it out On top of that her seismic sense and minimal sand bending would also give Toph big advantages (aside from the Seismic Sense literally acting as her eyes I could be wrong since I haven’t seen Dark-Multiverse Terra in a second, but I’m sure Toph would still win just not be a complete landslide

I had this fan fiction idea floating in my head of Terra somehow finding a portal to the Avatar universe where she runs into Toph who helps Terra learn how to control her powers. I don't know if this idea has ever been done yet. If anyone wants to use this idea for themselves, go for it!
The crux of the match up is that Terra is too insecure about her powers to be a real threat, (hence why all her takedowns of the titans were about psychological warfrare) whereas Toph not only isn't insecure and fully controls her earthbending, but she was also creative enough to both use it as an extension of her senses, and fucking invent new forms of bending. And even then, Toph scales to Bumi, who can literally Earthbend not just chunks of an earthbending stadium, but entire fucking buildings.

Yeah the show version of Terra was not well developed she was in a handful of episodes. Thats like saying Korra could body Aang but only using up until episode 6 of the first season to determine Aangs abilities.
Can we take a second to imagine how powerful Terra could have been if she had the time to manage the use of her powers? Yea, Toph is the best earth bender of her time in her world. In the Avatar world Terra would just be a standard Earthbending novice who has decent power but lacks efficiency and precision. She can also float with the rocks, which is a nice little bonus but not enough to remotely close the gap with a master.

Even though I'm more a Toph fan but I will give one thing that might gives Toph a disadvantage, Terra's power to make rock float. While, Toph is one of the best rock benders she still needs to rely on vibration as her sight ability and if Terra plan to beat Toph she needs to make sure she's off the ground or else

Actually it does depend on the version of terra you’re going with comic book terra is a different story but toph is still probably going to win but comic book terra would have a higher chance of lasting longer in the fight than the tv show version

For one we have never seen Toph bend something outside of an immediate area even in her old age we see her get overwhelmed by just a few dozen people in metal suits and one highly skilled Earth Bender. Depending on which timeline of the comics we are talking about Terra has manipulated tectonic plates which means she has a seriously huge advantage in range. She is also fighting people with superhuman durability and strength and not just normal humans that are taken out with a single stone throw.

Yeah Toph's earthbending is insane she held up the entire Wan Shi Tong library by herself. The part she was holding was just the upper tip. But go back in the episode and look at the entire scale of the library opposed to the tiny part that was exposed. That giant pillar was miniscule compared to the building itself.
If you used Terra from that specific show, then I can see why Toph can win. But if you were to pick a more developed version of her in the comics, it would be a closer match

Natural abilities: combat training from death stroke who is approximately a rival to Batman. And Batman is consecutively stated to know every martial arts known to exist.
Actual abilities: Terra is geokinetik, meaning she thinks and it moves earth. Has Gravity manipulation. Able to fly using any form of rock. Able to make creatures composed of rock and stone. Manipulation over lava and magma. Rapid healing factor. Heat resistance.
Ps: comic Terra was able/did all this at 25 so no need for 30 years. And saying that toph would be to much to handle at 18 is a theory. That’s not a actual fact or feat. Your not the writer so u can’t predict what happens in the future of the series. And correct me if I’m wrong but wasn’t toph over 18 in the legend of korra? Plus King Bumi (one of the best earthbenders) was like 112 years old and his highest feat was probably lifting Ozai’s statue.

Ok, here is something people don't consider, if terra stays floating in the air (her rocks don't have to be connected to the ground), toph won't be able to see her, and at that point toph is helpless (I like both characters but people don't seem to be considering this)
Even though it's hard it's not a long time since I could find the feeds but talk and even move continents and move Titanic plates. She was able to recreate the entire city of Boston say to scale with just sand with just a shift of a heel. People keep thinking I'm referring to the little one when she didn't when she was a kid but no she redoes that at some point in the comics to life size as an adult. She truly becomes another level

Toph is one of my all time favorite female characters. Bias aside She’d still stomp so hard. As a kid she invented metal bending and beat the avatar. As an adult effectively utilized metal bending into functional police weapons and tools. And as an old lady she beat the avatar. AGAIN😂
I mean not as an old lady, that was training sessions and Korra was poisoned with Mercury at the time so was no where near full power. Also when she fought Aang it was also just training or sparring neither was going all out.

The crux of the match up is that Terra is too insecure about her powers to be a real threat, (hence why all her takedowns of the titans were about psychological warfrare) whereas Toph not only isn't insecure and fully controls her earthbending, but she was also creative enough to both use it as an extension of her senses, and fucking invent new forms of bending. And even then, Toph scales to Bumi, who can literally Earthbend not just chunks of an earthbending stadium, but entire fucking buildings.

Yeah the show version of Terra was not well developed she was in a handful of episodes. Thats like saying Korra could body Aang but only using up until episode 6 of the first season to determine Aangs abilities.
Can we take a second to imagine how powerful Terra could have been if she had the time to manage the use of her powers? Yea, Toph is the best earth bender of her time in her world. But, I have a feeling Terra could literally split the earth in two with enough time and training. Just my thoughts. Toph still smacks the shit out of the Teen Titans Terra.

Comic Terra is a whole different caliber who at one point was able to somehow control the sand dust in a person‘s lungs who breathed that stuff in, control Lava, control Crystals and was able to even shape Metal at one point (but that was more of a temporary buff moment)
