Art Nouveau, and the roughly contemporary Arts & Crafts, are two of my favourite artistic movements and what I love about the jewellery that came out of them is the organic forms and that as well as the more familiar precious stones we expect to see in jewellery today, many more unusual and less familiar stones are used. My favourites were the Lalique chrysoprase and enamel brooch of the female face and the Hawthorn brooch, also be Lalique (which was just as beautiful from the back as from the front).
