Try to put their feet in rock crevices without flow directly hitting them and surround the caves with branching live rocks that they can lean on when opening up. They will not move around in places they feel comfy. Give it a try and let us know how it goes. Wish you good luck!

Thank you Ari. I do use activated carbon to absorb chemicals that corals emit. But I won't attribute the water clarity to activated carbon. I think clean-up crew decomposing detritus into smaller particles that are brought into the overflow and captured by filter floss is the major reason. I haven't changed water in the past 6 months as I see no difference of coral response in water changing. What a nice tank, I have a question I hope you can help me. I have an algae reactor similar like yours, but my chaeto gets covered for other kind of algaes and it dies, what do I do, let that other algae grow? Thank you!
Thank you! Chaeto may not be able to outcompete the other micro algae. Just let the other algae grow. The types of algae in the reactor will change from time to time due to shifts in nutrient balance. They will eventually stabilize in about 6 months time when you'll see greenish algae proliferate. If you have other algae you prefer to culture, you can put them in the breeder box instead of in the reactor. I have cultured in three boxes bunches of sea lettuce which I harvested for soup or salad.

Your tank is beautiful 🥰 what size is your tank? Also what filtration system do you have? Over hang, sump or refugium? Can you place the link to the algae reaction you recommend?
Thank you! Mine is a Red Sea 250 70g tank. I use the default filtration that comes with the tank. There is a sump underneath, where I have filter floss, protein skimmer and biopellets. I'm going to talk about filtration specifically in my future episodes. The algae reactor I've been using is from a small Chinese manufacturer, which is only selling domestically. I would recommend bigger brands such as Kraken if you're interested to add one.
Thank you. Although BTAs are sensitive to nitrates (especially above 20), they are otherwise pretty robust creatures that are easy to take care of. If you don't want them to grow too fast, just stop target feeding them. To place them where you want, simply remove them at night when they contract into a bud, put them in an intended rock crevice, they will fix in there and blossom the next day. To help them extend from the rock crevice, you can place some branch rocks around the crevice and I bet they'll make good use of them.
Your tank is outstanding. I have a question, I'm setting up a 50gal lagoon FOWLR with maybe some hearty branch corals but would like to add a couple anemones for two clownfish. Are clowns caught in the ocean more likely to 'friend' an anemone than breeder clowns? I want to give them and me the best chance at a trusting relationship. I just saw my answer in another of your videos.😂🐠 Thanks for all the info.

Thank you! Yes, I run 24/7 and let the algae of different species compete and balance by themselves. But if you prefer to culture certain macro algae of your preference, such as grape algae, then you have to stay alert and prevent them from going sexual.
@@edpeters9425 I started with no algae at all. Different algae will flourish at different stages of the tank. But generally you will expect to start with brownish algae towards greenish in the end.
I'm using Jiebao OW-25 at lowest speed and lowest knob frequency. But their newer model SOW-8 is an awesome upgrade if you need complete silence. I'm going to talk about flow in my next episode.
Yes of course. But an algae reactor has a nice feature that the light is contained within so that other chambers of the refugium would not be contaminated by algae.
Hey roger I wn ask questions Can you build a new tank from scratch and make videos like a guide for beginners? Ex : how long should there be a cycle? How can we choose corals? How long after we can add coral and fish? Which one add to aquarium first (fish?, coral? cleaning crew?)
Hi Aydiner, it's a pity I cannot build a new tank due to space limitation at home, but I'll talk about system build and maintenance in my future updates. To answer your questions, a cycle is typically 6 months when microorganisms start to reach a relative balance. You can introduce clean up crew to the tank in the first week and start to add fish in about 3 months as some live rocks carry ich / velvet that infect fish if you put in too early. And it's better to add in LPS corals and nems after the cycle is done as they are more sensitive to water quality. Finally in with SPS coral if chemicals are kept extremely stable at very narrow ranges. I have another episode on species selection.
You have a beautiful tank.
Thank you so much!
Very helpful! Thank you!
Thank you Ryan! My pleasure.
How long has this tank had coral? I’m subscribing.
Thank you Joshua! Really appreciate that! The tank is about two-year old. I started to add corals 18 months ago.
Can you do a detailed video of your filtration system? I’m very curious as your tank looks super healthy and great!
Thank you! Sure, I will talk about filtration in my future episodes.
@@zzyz Thanks! What Algae Reactor are you using?
@@iheartmedia1712 I’m using an algae reactor from a small Chinese supplier simply because of its cheap price. I would recommend big brands such as Kraken if you want to add one.
Nice tank!!!! my tank is 13 years old still
Have my original clownfish a small Pygmy angel and a gold banded shrimp I have all LPS coral
Wow, that’s gorgeous! Time is everything in reef keeping.

Congratulations for 1k subs Your Tank is so Beautiful. Remember me? Btw I catch Banded Snake eel using my hands 😁 Happy New Year
Thank you! Yes, of course, you caught eels in tide pool with bare hands, impressive! Welcome back and happy new year too!
Are green Nems usually that colorful or is the one you have more of a unique specimen? I can’t get over how bright it is
It’s a common specimen but looked entirely different when I bought it from LFS. I would say a healthy green nem should have looked the way it was in the video.
Is this video color enhanced at all? Looks amazing
Thank you Jake. The colour of the video is enhanced to look more real. The raw colour is more blueish, which is actually distorted.
Hi Roger,
Very beautiful tank. What do you feed sexy shrimps??
Also hermits are okay with snaiks?? Mine are killing snails for shells.
Also what type if care needed for goniopora?
Mine closed after two months
Thank you.
Thank you Sachin. I don't feed sexy shrimps specifically, but I do broadcast feed coral food twice a day, frozen food twice, brine shrimp nauplii and shrimp powder daily. Unlike crabs or red leg hermits, blue leg hermits are okay with snails. I have an episode on goniopora care. Feel free to check it out: ruclips.net/video/wldlCzuUzSA/видео.html
What Algae reactor do you use
Perfect balance
Thank you 🙏
What camera u use? Video colour looks very good
Thank you! This video was taken by iPhone 12 pro with an optical filter.
May i know what type? Brand? Model? Of optical filter
@@arvindprabu I'm using Deep-sea filter. That's a pretty small and economic brand but comes handy. There's only one model if I remember correctly.
Hey may i know what is your setting for this redsea light?
The lights are on at 8am and off at 7pm, with blue peaking at 80% and white at 55%. I'll talk about lighting and flow in the next episode.
@@zzyz thanks
What kind was that cute little puffer (yellow with spots)?
That's the yellow boxfish. It is smart and has a fun personality.
Absolutely stunning reef tank, I wish I could re do my entire tank and make it exactly like yours. Its excellent. What light do you use? Also....new subscriber and shoutout on Instagram🤙
Thank you Carmine! Really appreciate that! I use Red Sea LED 90, which is good enough in my opinion. I wish you the best of luck with all your endeavors and happy reefing!
great tips! interested that you run your algae reactor 24/7 ?
Thank you! Yes, I run 24/7 and let the algae of different species compete and balance by themselves. But if you prefer to culture certain macro algae of your preference, such as grape algae, then you have to stay alert and prevent them from going sexual.
@@zzyz what types of algae did you start your reactor with?
@@edpeters9425 I started with no algae at all. Different algae will flourish at different stages of the tank. But generally you will expect to start with brownish algae towards greenish in the end.
your videos are great!! why did you stop posting more videos!?
Thank you for asking. I put off posting new clips as I had some family issues lately. I'll try to continue uploading soon. Thank you!
What do you use for your photography / video capture? The quality is great!
Thank you Jahr. I used iPhone 12 pro + an optical filter to shoot this episode.

Hi which WAWAMAKER you r using and what settings and nob frequency settings
I'm using Jiebao OW-25 at lowest speed and lowest knob frequency. But their newer model SOW-8 is an awesome upgrade if you need complete silence. I'm going to talk about flow in my next episode.
@@zzyz I have same ow 25 but which waw settings you r using w1,w2,else, h,c and spend 1 to 8.

I wish my bubble tip would stay bulbed up like that any tips?
Keep your nitrate low and they will stay bubbled up. If you want them to grow fast, feed them with shrimps. Wish you good luck!
Could you use a refugium instead of an algae reactor?
Yes of course. But an algae reactor has a nice feature that the light is contained within so that other chambers of the refugium would not be contaminated by algae.
Do all species of sea cucumbers clean the sand?
Black cucumbers and tiger tails do. I haven't personally owned other species but guess they will.
What type of sand do you use
I use Red Sea live sand.
Hey roger I wn ask questions
Can you build a new tank from scratch and make videos like a guide for beginners?
Ex :
how long should there be a cycle?
Feel free to check it out: ruclips.net/video/cv68QVlELNY/видео.html
@@zzyz roger i will make new setup 40 gallon reef tank , can you tell me how many clean up crew inverts i need to add
Blue leg , what kind snail , cucumber , shrimps ?
Please if you have time can you write me ?
Think like you setup new 40gallon tank
@@aydinerusul1362 Aydiner, that sounds exciting! 10 blue leg hermits, 5 turbo snails (other snails are subject to crab predation), 1 black cucumber, 1 peppermint shrimp (to kill aiptasia), 2 marble shrimps, will probably do the job for you.
I just sub to your channel, loving your tank!! can you share your light color parameters and sch. thanks!
Thank you! Really appreciate that! I’ll talk about lighting in the next few episodes but in a nutshell, 50% white and 70% blue to peak at noon for roughly 10 hours a day.
Beautiful ❤
Thank you! 😊
what size your aquarium in cm ?
It's a 90cm tank.
It’s weird that you say don’t go with a sand sifting Golby.. I had one and after having it for a bit I went to clean underneath the sand like I would do every so often. To my surprise there wasn’t hardly anything there since the golby was put in the tank.
