  • The urban core of Dublin has regrettably transformed into an area deemed inhospitable and unsafe for residents and visitors alike. Street gangs have been observed meandering through our thoroughfares, engaging in nefarious activities such as open drug transactions, thus perpetuating an environment of chaos and unease. Urgent intervention in the form of stringent loitering laws is recommended to thwart the escalation of gang presence and reclaim public spaces for the community. It is imperative that our Justice Minister, Helen McEntee, takes swift and resolute action to reinstate lawfulness and security, thereby revitalizing our city and ensuring the well-being of its inhabitants.

Being Irish and living in Manchester U.K. 23 years myself, I last came home to Ireland in October 2022 to visit family in Rural Ireland and I felt decidedly unsafe passing through Dublin City Centre - what is needed is a national state of Emergency, martial law, curfews and routinely and visibly armed Gardai in Dublin City Centre, with support from the Milltary, as Dublin City Centre has become a hostile milltary combat zone - there can only ever be a milltary and ultra firm policing solution to this problem, no other solutions will ever work

There are two questions: why young people don't want to join force? Why gards more likly be seen in cars than walking? Another thing is that there should be ban for teenagers and young man enter shops with head covers like hoods and masks and walking in big groups more than five like in UK. There is also poor community service provide by garda and reaching youngsters with crime prevention and education.

It is ironic that today, on the Island of Ireland, the most nationalist anti-imm conservative party is the DUP!!. It is ironic that the people who maligned and fought against this group for 30 years is now the most pro - izlm, pro - markz, anti - chris. It is a sad reflection on this country as to how far we have left our Historic Christian roots. We can not rediscover our historic cultural roots until people genuinely put their trust in Christ. It is our historic Christian faith that brings genuine unity and conviction of what is right and what is wrong. If this does not happen, this country will spiral down in to fractious groups with their own individual grievances and hate.

You are prob ably right but keep in mind that for the last 10 or more years, you couldn't walk that boardwalk when dark, particularly during the weekends because of gangs of youngsters but not foreign. I'm talking about the guys in tracksuits living off the Dole, drug users, alcoholic young Irish fellas who on a regular basis robbed and assaulted people in city centre, mostly tourists but also regular working people going home from work. Of course now with the lot of foreign guys coming with nothing to loose, it's going to be far worse because you have both. the local and the foreign thugs. Very bad indeed.

Derry is a much smaller city compared to Dublin. Up until the end of the 1990s derry would probably have been considered more dangerous than Dublin because of the paramilitaries during the troubles (conflict between catholics and Protestants) in Northern Ireland. After the troubles Derry became largely safe and remains so Dublin for much of the 2000s-2010s was safe enough for a capital city but social cohesion in Dublin has become a huge issue in the last few years

If the bookies we're taking bets, the odds on trouble happening between foreign nationals and indigenous Irish people would be odds on. Our neighbors can fill us in on how it will play out now we have our own illegal migrants alongside the lega one's.We need a hard border. I see the way these gang's are forming attracting their own national people into bigger a tighter gang's.Because we are a smaller country the communities are fairly tight and know one another. We have a good worldwide reputation for our humanity ,welcoming and kind to a fault. If something happened and this connection was assaulted and abused the consequences would be dark and dire. These gangs are noticeable especially around town in Moore Street and O'Connell. Their connections run through these delivery apps. Most of these workers know one another. They started of ganging together for protection because of assaults by other local youths year's back. That stopped but these foreign gang's stayed together and morphed into drug gang's using the deliveries as cover. They are on a collision course with our youth. Eighter an assault or a death will trigger something that hasn't been seen here before. This will be very nasty and bloody. It will turn most people against foreign national overnight. I'm not the only person seeing and hearing this on our street's and in our homes. It's a hot topic and politicians are trying to play it down, but doing nothing about the symptoms and social causes. Since the Vietnamese boat people arrived in Ireland they never integrate. All people that came after them never integrated either. Cause and effect. Results feeling isolated lonely forgotten about. This neglect fosters resentments. This spills over and negatively impacts already under funded communities.Remind the people looking for your vote this week. You scratch their back they scratch your back. The way of the world .✌️
