I'm shoked by all those negative comments ... Christina CAN SING live, she's really good and her performances never fail to bring me to tears every time I watch them.
This is probably a weird thing to point out, but I like that Christina actually opens her mouth up when she sings. Because that's what I have to do when I sing high notes. And I feel stupid. But she's pulling it off. :D
I thought the shakiness was purposefully done to release extra emotion and I felt a lot of it. Seriously at the end of the day feeling strong emotion from a song is the most important thing.
CHRISTINA PERRI is a true artist ! She has got what we call "artist vocal chords" She "plays" with her voice as she wants and easily ! Her performances make you swim in her imagination and feelings ! i think maybe the reason so many people dislike the backup is because the harmony is slightly dissonant, something you don't find very often anymore. i personally love it but everyone's entitled to their own opinion

The things that I looked for in the voice of the singers that sings live is how similar their voice are to the audio edited and I think she's one of them. It's not the background singers, not the music but the pure raw voice. That's the beauty of a true singer. And I love her songs. After all we're all just a human (:

I mean, it's like airbrushing the CRAP out of a "slightly-above-average" looking woman and turning her into the impossibly untouchable "standard" of beauty that actually can't possibly exist. Case in point- Demi Lovato- on her Cosmo cover she looked like thee most impossibly stunning Goddess ever... but in real life, she's a little on the shorter side, and also... what "show business" calls "plus-sized", which, is like MAYBE a size 8, which makes her look human and freaking FAR MORE GORGEOUS THAN THAT FAKE COSMO COVER, but... we still look at people and artists and expect them to always look and sound and perform perfectly, even under live pressure. Amy's voice is just too delicate to be THAT POWERFUL for an entire live show. She's CONSISTENTLY flat on her higher notes and longer holds. About the ONLY exception to that rule- that I've seen, ok, well maybe two (that I've seen live as well as have heard recorded)- Lea Michele and Naya Rivera... not ironic they are the two lead stars of the hit musical show Glee... but live, they STILL both absolutely KILL! I don't know how they do it. Anyway...
