Not anymore. This is one of those, have fun only if you have friends game. If not - Can't feat hunt - Can't Run Elite raids - Can't Run old content for things you missed Oh and yeah everyone just stands around doing jack shit everyday I get on, no one's trying to really play so why should I waste my time.
Like most veteran players of this I took a long break from it and when they announced the whole save the universe thing, I was sucked right back in. Within the first week I had the same feeling I would have gotten before I quiet. The feeling of dread. That feeling creeped up pretty fast and now I log in do some quest and log out quickly. My league has faded so running only solos and duos are my thing. One my 12 month sub is gone I will delete the game again and maybe in the future will download it again. I love DC and I love this game but it hard when you have that feeling of dread when you start the game.
It's just so weird that their hasn't been more Superhero MMO games to come out after City of Heroes and this, it's really sad. The Boys show is doing really well, MCU has been doing good not so much after endgame but still enough for them to at least consider an MMO superhero game wtf. :(

@@VagrantVideos Thankfully the Marvel MMO was cancelled... which was also being created by Daybreak and Dimensional Ink studios... but the artwork was atrocious! It seemed like it was geared towards teenagers, not adults... I'm sure EG7 took a look at that and said, "Yeah no, we're going to pass." Unfortunately, DI CEO Jack Emmert then walked away and took many of the high level DCUO devs with him, which means the next few months are going to be horrible for DCUO content. The plus side, EG7 said they were talking half that development money and putting it towards DCOU... unfortunately, they have no staff to even make use of it. Furthermore, it's been over a month and still no CEO for DI hired, not good. Oh and speaking of, there was never an 'updated engine' in the works... it was a new PS5 client and 'updated graphics'.
I’m a new player of the game and been having fun as you can play everything in the game for free as all DLC is free forever which is nice kinda like Star Wars the old republic of you pay for membership you keep all the DLC And well it’s nice in DCuO you can play all dlc i even watched 2 people fight like a hour before one gave up cause the other kept healing like crazy
I have taken like 3 breaks from DCUO (currently on my 4th). I came back if I remember correctly in 2020 after a 2 years hiatus, once I heard about the life changes and “Graphics Update” been made to the game. Now apparently the changes will happen in 2023…3 years later after they announced them. And in the meantime the mentality of the Devs is how can they keep milking the player base with P2W stuff. Which I personally wouldn’t have any issues, if the game was worth it. No bugs, no glitches, no Atari graphics, good balance in terms of powers meaning not having to switch to the new flavor of the month type of bulljive and everyone who’s a precision DPS doing the same silly f-ing combo dance like they were part of the same breakdancing group or something. I have been playing this game for a long long time, and I could say in someways I might be emotionally attached to it. I love my current league, the bonds I’ve made with some of the people in game. But if we are been honest if you take all of that away and have everyone drop to the game for the first time, most people that play this game every single day, wouldn’t even touch it again after a few hours/days. This game is outdated and it’s only surviving on the scraps it can take from those few that still put money on it. Which is a damn shame since it has amazing potential. But you know what? I’ve been hearing since 2015-2016 “This game has so much potential, I don’t know why they don’t fix this and that and that”, Welp I’m in the same boat of people who are tired of hearing the same crap while the years keep going by lol
I just believe they dont have the staff to improve the game and do big changes, maybe the person´s who originaly dessing the game code left and the new ones cannot change thing´s of is just too much work. Last month in the forum´s Mepps say something about speedhacker´s. To solve the problem´s they have to rewrite the combat game code, and they dont know what may happen if they do so... The other option is they just dont care and like you say, they are only concern in milking all the people who still play. English is not my first language, sorry if i make a grammatical mistake.

I started playing over 2 years ago and I absolutely loved the game before I took a year long break I started playing again and just couldn't stop even though I have tons of experience and 2 characters level 30 and the rest above level 15 I still didn't know so many things and I am still learning and just that alone is still awesome
Also, I’d like to differ from the opinion that this game is P2W. This game at most requires a subscription. Within the skill tree, the maximum cap to increase your might is currently about 400 skill points. As of episode 43, you’re able to get up to like 700. As for artifacts, you really only need to level up 3 or four of them for your main role. DCUO is an MMORPG, so with that being said, it requires a lot of grinding. In the current state of the game, you can stock up on like a dozen destiny tokens within just 3 months of playing. You’re able to either buy a stack of 10 seals of preservations with just a single token or a single seal of completion, which you really only need to use 3 times from 160-200. The amount of nth metal you need to earn will be enough by the time you have enough destiny tokens.
As long as the option to pay the money to get max progression items exist in the game it will be viewed as pay to win. Loot boxes need to go as well. If they completely remove it from the cash shop then the game would be in a great spot. Hell it’d potentially bring me back.
ONLY level up 3 or four for your main role... which takes MONTHS or YEARS if you aren't paying through the Marketplace. It costs roughly $200 PER ARTIFACT to level up through the Marketplace, let alone Allies, which a Legendary Ally also costs roughly $200 to level or months/years of grinding to level... three artifacts, three allies... lots of $$ or lots of TIME. Most players don't want to wait months or years to reach the level of other players- even though many have been playing for years to get where they are- impatience is a big problem in any MMO and DCUO capitalizes on it.
No you just have to PLAY the game…..I don’t pay my arts at 160 & 149 and the game GIVES you things you need.. you just can’t get op in a night… takes time 3months u can get a max toon bro it’s possible…

I think that people like to throw the pay to win word on this game because they’re not familiar with how MMO games like to approach the productivity of their players. I’ve seen games where you have to gamble money away on packs for a small chance to drop a mount that gives stat bonus to damage.
There are things i dislike about this game, things you mentioned, but two things i like is the shear amount of cosmetics, it is insane, and two all the content is completely free, which a lot of mmos only let you progress so far before hitting a pay wall. There are ways you can progress nicely in this game without spending a dime if you are smart at it, know how to work the market and profit from buying low and selling high etc. My character currently has about maxed out combat rating and arts and ive never spent a dime on the game

I have actually just returned to DCUO after taking a six year break... after DCUO screwed over solo players with their "monthly content" release which made it impossible for solo players to progress and would be forced into group content. When I complained in the forums about it, one of the devs said that they consider solo players in DCUO to be an anomaly. NICE! I think it's not only the players in DCUO that are toxic, but I think some of the devs have been there too long. I think they also cling too much to the outdated "MMO means group content" mentality- instead of seeing how other MMOs (ESO, FFXIV) have MILLIONS of players thanks to a solo quest-centric focus. If DCUO would just add more solo MISSIONS, like levels 1-30, I think it would bring back a lot of players who want a RPG without forced grouping; I could see DCUO being a 'play as a comic book' game in that sense. Most of their solo 'instances' SUCK, take too long for very little reward- it's only the open world solos that are decent. Furthermore, the stat-clamping has made it extremely difficult for players to gain old feats which used to be soloable (bounties, etc) but now actually require a GROUP, and most long-term players don't want to run older content even for rewards. Making open world clamped was a very dumb decision in my mind, but I'm sure once again this is pushing low-level players to buy artifacts/allies in Marketplace to level faster to complete said content. *sigh* I played DCUO solo for years, spent thousands to do so, but I had a blast... then the devs poor decision making... and I walked away. Now I'm back, this time starting over completely on PC... better graphics, more stability, and not having to buy a new console for updated graphics (you know PS4 won't get anything new just like PS3 didn't when PS4 was updated). Now I have a TON of stuff to do all over again. Part of me wonders what the point is... but isn't that the same with any MMO these days? I mean, even in ESO which I have been playing off and on for years... it eventually reaches a point where it's 'been there, done that' even with new content. Usually new area, but same routine. Basically any game these days is a time sink, but the question is, are you having fun while doing it? Speaking of content... you video mentioned them re-using assets... well, that's what happens when you're continuously understaffed and then shuffle many of the ones you have left off to work on another game. I honestly think Jack figured he'd get the Marvel MMO going and they'd shutdown DCUO... but thankfully EG7 had other ideas. My concern is this, how difficult will it be for them to hire more devs to come work on a 10+ year old game with outdated engine?!? It's definitely a concern.
Compared to what it was before stats revamp, artifacts and allies? No way in hell is it worth playing now. It's Wallet Universe Online with no care for PvP players at all on top of all the other issues it has. This game is only alive because of microtransactions. Imagine when Microtransactions finally are banned in the USA? This game would have to come up with different ways to keep afloat.
It would incentivize them to make the content worth experiencing at that point. Put the time capsule crap in dungeons, make artifacts and all that stuff fun to level, etc.
Your hashtag is still projectgorgan btw& also check out flyff again they’ve released it as a browser game now with over 80thousand pre-reg accounts at launch, compare to a steady 2000 population on private servers. Flyff universe plays well on mobile too. Dcuo was one of my favourite games but I tried rejoining and it loads and it just crashes every time after multiple re installs etc a shame.
It was a fun game and I played with my younger brother and had countless fun. However the game is so broken on so many levels, I would never go back unless there was some private server or some time locked server like Everquest has, since Daybreak owns it. The game is just broken. I loved it back in the day and it's a shame DC Universe went down hill. Although, it's just not worth it based on the economy and several other factors like how pay to win it is.

A map thats more or less a hang out spot. Daily login incentives that most other games have as just a means to get you to login daily. A pet system thats monetized and “content”. Not much has really changed. Its still fun because I get reminded of nostalgia but if you’ve played other games on the market, DCUO has added VERY little.

If I can buy rank 200 artifacts from my first day of play that give me literal stats to my character it’s absolutely pay to win. The option is there, doesn’t matter if you ignore it. If they removed any sort of progression from the cash shop like it had during its early years I would agree with you.

15 days each 3 years is way enough. game is OK but not good. I played at least 2 years and try 1 years ago i can't bear more than 15 days. came back for my loft who is gorgious but after that, grinding instanced ... it is just ultra boring. It is been 6 years they said : We will do a graphic and a gameplay update ... well ... we are waiting and waiting and nothing is coming.
Why not just let the suscription and let the players achive everything else it would become way better game and more people would play it they have no clue how to properly make it playeable
Once new players realize the sp grind and how much of a scam time capsules are most of them leave you also got pvp which is dead asf and unbalanced Im not leaving the game anytime soon tho because I used to be a whale so I'm kinda obligated to check in every once in a while

I recently returned after a 2 year break (not really a break; I’d planned on leaving forever) I played for a few months, and i could feel that i just simply wasn’t enjoying being logged in anymore; and left again. EU servers are full of the same handful, just stood in the same spots, day after day, talking sh1t to each other. Pug groups are disgracefully bad. The level of incompetence now is shocking! I mean - REALLY bad. But as always… it’s the monetisation of the game. That’ll always be the killer. I’m fortunate, where i can pay. And have put a lot of money into this game. But it just hit me several weeks ago - wtf am i doing? I’m putting money into a game i can barely stand to play now. Anyone reading this: Do not play this game. Do not spend a cent on it. It will suck you dry! And you will have nothing to show for it in the end. They are haemorrhaging players. The amount of forum threads I’ve seen over the past 2 weeks alone, about people leaving, screams that people have had enough of the money-grabs and pay-walling. The EU has around 400 players per day. But that doesn’t mean active. Being online and talking etc, isn’t playing the game. You will find it VERY difficult to run any content that isn’t the current end-game, or the DLC before it. If you’re a returning player. Just don’t! The game is infested with noobs, sp is now up in the 740 mark. Artifacts have almost entirely replaced sp. Allies, augments, all of it can be gotten for free. If you wait 9 months between x2 xp weeks. They know ppl want to “be the best” etc, and they know ppl will spend. And in return - you get the same content, over and over. I swear too you! It’s not even close to being worth it. Stay away from this toxic sh1t.

Well the engine might get updated next year so we can only hope. Personally I’d like a classic server one day.

Take it slow and don’t chase leaderboards. That’s the best way to enjoy it.

Flyff universe plays well on mobile too. Dcuo was one of my favourite games but I tried rejoining and it loads and it just crashes every time after multiple re installs etc a shame.

It was a fun game and I played with my younger brother and had countless fun. However the game is so broken on so many levels, I would never go back unless there was some private server or some time locked server like Everquest has, since Daybreak owns it. The game is just broken. I loved it back in the day and it's a shame DC Universe went down hill. Although, it's just not worth it based on the economy and several other factors like how pay to win it is.

A map thats more or less a hang out spot. Daily login incentives that most other games have as just a means to get you to login daily. A pet system thats monetized and “content”.
Not much has really changed. Its still fun because I get reminded of nostalgia but if you’ve played other games on the market, DCUO has added VERY little.

Game is not pay to win, you just need to wait for rewards that you get evry day or with membership you will get more
If I can buy rank 200 artifacts from my first day of play that give me literal stats to my character it’s absolutely pay to win. The option is there, doesn’t matter if you ignore it. If they removed any sort of progression from the cash shop like it had during its early years I would agree with you.

game is OK but not good. I played at least 2 years and try 1 years ago i can't bear more than 15 days.
came back for my loft who is gorgious but after that, grinding instanced ... it is just ultra boring.
It is been 6 years they said : We will do a graphic and a gameplay update ... well ... we are waiting and waiting and nothing is coming.
Why not just let the suscription and let the players achive everything else it would become way better game and more people would play it they have no clue how to properly make it playeable

Once new players realize the sp grind and how much of a scam time capsules are most of them leave you also got pvp which is dead asf and unbalanced Im not leaving the game anytime soon tho because I used to be a whale so I'm kinda obligated to check in every once in a while

I’ve played on and off since 2013. I recently returned after a 2 year break (not really a break; I’d planned on leaving forever)
I played for a few months, and i could feel that i just simply wasn’t enjoying being logged in anymore; and left again.
EU servers are full of the same handful, just stood in the same spots, day after day, talking sh1t to each other.
Pug groups are disgracefully bad. The level of incompetence now is shocking! I mean - REALLY bad.
But as always… it’s the monetisation of the game. That’ll always be the killer.
I’m fortunate, where i can pay. And have put a lot of money into this game. But it just hit me several weeks ago - wtf am i doing? I’m putting money into a game i can barely stand to play now.
Anyone reading this: Do not play this game. Do not spend a cent on it. It will suck you dry! And you will have nothing to show for it in the end.
They are haemorrhaging players. The amount of forum threads I’ve seen over the past 2 weeks alone, about people leaving, screams that people have had enough of the money-grabs and pay-walling.
The EU has around 400 players per day. But that doesn’t mean active. Being online and talking etc, isn’t playing the game. You will find it VERY difficult to run any content that isn’t the current end-game, or the DLC before it.
If you’re a returning player. Just don’t! The game is infested with noobs, sp is now up in the 740 mark. Artifacts have almost entirely replaced sp. Allies, augments, all of it can be gotten for free. If you wait 9 months between x2 xp weeks. They know ppl want to “be the best” etc, and they know ppl will spend. And in return - you get the same content, over and over. I swear too you! It’s not even close to being worth it. Stay away from this toxic sh1t.
