  • The Angami Youth Organization declares Non-cooperation to NSCN(K) Khango Group.
3 points declaration over death penalty issued to Angami contractor
Kohima, July 27: The Angami Youth Organization (AYO) today called an emergency presidential council meeting in Kohima “following the death penalty/capital punishment issued to an Angami contractor by the NSCN (K) Khango Group.”
After thorough deliberation, it came out with 3 points declaration and the same was communicated through a press conference this afternoon at AYO Office, Kohima.
AYO highlighted that on July 20, one who claimed himself as Max, member of the finance controller committee of NSCN (K) Khango Group, demanded tax from proprietor of KKB Rülho, threatening him with capital punishment if he fails to comply before 15 days.
AYO stated that since the higher authority of the NSCN (K) Khango Group has accepted that the death penalty/capital punishment issued to the Proprietor of KKB Rülho “is the doing of their group,” AYO sought explanation from the concerned group as on what ground or the circumstances that warranted to the imposition of capital punishment to the Angami contractor.
It stated that through the Angami region of the NSCN (K) Khango Group, AYO offered an olive branch to the competent authority of the Khango Group to come forward to sit across the table for discussion in Kohima.
However, the Khango Group failed to respond positively before the given deadline of 25th July 2024, AYO stated
On this, AYO president Kesosul Christopher Ltu said that AYO in its Presidential Council Meeting on July 27 decided that “the entire Angami area has been declared as non-cooperation towards the NSCN (K) Khango Group until unless this matter is being addressed.”
AYO stated that in learning that the death penalty/capital punishment was issued without any valid reason (s), AYO considered the act of the Khango Group as a direct challenge to the entire Angami community.
Stating that on the failure of the Khango Group to meet the AYO officials within the given deadline (25th July), AYO resolved to call back all the Angamis who are in the NSCN (K) Khango Group.
Therefore, AYO stated “all the Angamis working with the Khango Group are hereby asked to disassociate from the group until the matter is resolved.”
AYO directed the four ranges to interfere and act accordingly by getting in touch with their respective range members who belong to the Khango Group.
The AYO Presidential Council Meeting also reaffirmed the standing resolution of the Angami Public Organisation (APO) taken in 1993.
Ltu stated that AYO has reiterated that the 1993 resolution of the APO will be strictly monitored.
Ltu stated that the APO resolution of 1993 stated that “if the various Naga National Political Groups don’t come under one banner, the Angami community and the Angami villages under APO shall not extend any contribution or donation.”
The three point declaration was signed by AYO president Kesosul Christopher Ltu, AYO general secretary Neidilhoutuo Sechii, Southern Angami Youth Organization president Metekhrielie Mejura, Northern Angami Youth Organization president Khrievolie Zhale, Western Angami Youth Organization president Neitoulie Peseyie and Chakhroma Youth Organization president Seyieneilhou Keyho.
