    Have I ever had to run to make a flight?
    Yes... at DFW... had a LONG delay due to "weather". They switched gates several times and the last one had us running from one end of the airport to the other.

    I don't need IFE in an one hour flight. It adds up weight to a light airplane. What's not there can not fail. Keeps maintenance, operating costs and fares low.

      Neither do I but on narrow body cross country and to Hawaii it’s pretty abusive not to have it

    As far as in flight entertainment goes I might use it if not too expensive. I don't fly often so I usually get a window seat and I keep looking through the portal during most of the flight.

    • @DrGariS
      @DrGariS  7 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah - so usually UA, JB and DL has the same rates on the same routes so it’s a no-brainer compared to an AA narrow-body.

    We are a couple traveling and it seems our row 8 (right behind First) has better leg space than First. I just got a nice deal upgrade to First for $100 for both of us, but for less leg room and no in-flight meal, I think I’ll stay in Eco Row 8.

    Well as for the IFE on this aircraft I am sure they have short flight time the destinations so that’s why they don’t have them so people can use the own device.

    • @DrGariS

      This one is usually used as a regional BUT they also have narrow body planes crossing the US and to Hawaii and even South America WITH NO IFEs. Awful!

      We’ll be on one for a 2.5 hour flight - that’s long enough to watch a movie so I’d enjoy IFE. I consider a short flight one that’s less than 2 hours such as San Antonio to DFW.

    I'm an AA frequent Flyer with status and like you, DO NOT LIKE the removal of seat back entertainment. Also, their partner, Alaska Airlines has done the same, but at least there, you can "rent" a device in Economy to have some choices on longer flights.

    IFE systems are prone to failure. I’ve had multiple IFE issues on multiple flights from coach to business or first, and it’s frustrating and unavoidable given the abuse each system takes and the amount of labor needed to keep them working perfectly all the time. I’m more comfortable bringing my own iPad and content than trusting that an IFE will actually work as advertised .

    • @DrGariS
      @DrGariS  5 месяцев назад

      RARELY do they have issues that a reboot doesn’t repair. I fly on average 4 times a month and in the last few years haven’t had any issues with any IFE.
