6:40 yeah the birds don’t play with toys and aren’t active because the owner isn’t giving them a chance...they need to be higher to start and their activity would probably go up. But the part that bothers me the most is that they said it would be a waste of money... then don’t get a pet if you aren’t willing to pay for its proper care.
I have had a bird for 2 days now and she is showing signs of a happy bird and I have plenty of different toys for her and she has touched one yet and even if after she has fully settled she continues to not play with them I will still keep them in and even buy more to see if she likes it better because I dont want to take away the option for her, it's not fair for a bird to have no toys even if they dont play with them
Give them and they will play with there toys.
123abc hi THANK YOU!!! It would be like not buying your child toys because they don’t play with them enough and saying it would be a waste of money.
“They’re not active, they don’t play around ...”
Sounds like depressed birds. :(
Those people take horrible care of those birds. I wouldn't even feed those birds to my cat. But Elle's birds are really healthy, I would definitely let my cat into that room!
Please do a part 2 to the dangerous stuff because I am getting a Lutino cockatiel and don’t want it to DIE
Yea more toxic things are cleaning chemicals in the air and Teflon
Hello! This comment was a while ago! But I have a lutino named Binu and the biggest problem I’ve had with him was breaking feathers. A lot of lutinos have been bread wrong and will have a bald spot behind their crest and will have very easily broken feathers! So please (especially if your bird is a baby) be very gentle with it and start teaching it recall ASAP! Good luck~
Thanks hayispure!
@@allora_li I'm getting a cockatiel too. I have to save my money up, I was thinking on calling it (dunno gender yet) Kaz or Kassima (Kassie for short). I'm very leased to have read your comment, it sounded very emotional (in my head lol) and very sincere. Best of luck to you and your lutino soon-to-be friend. 🐦
I am getting a Lutino cockatiel as well!
I’m gonna get a bird in the future so studying to get one rn

Yessss, used to have one for my lovebird. Say yikes with me. Yikes.
yikes yikes
Why
Bhahaha
I’ve noticed that a lot of the problems are repeated. For example maybe, they need different toys, perches, the size of the cage if too small, etc. I really hope more people start doing lots of research! I really want a bird, but I don’t have enough time to care for one. ❤️
Thank you for being responsible and realizing that a bird isn’t right for your situation ❤️

hey, where do I send photos of my birds cage to you? I’d LOVE for you to critique it in your next video, so I can be absolutely sure I’m doing right by them.
I really hope you see this and reply, thank you!😊 also I LOVE your videos, they’ve helped me so much & have given me so much important information before buying my birds ❤️

@@ElleAndTheBirds Where do you submit the bird cages?
Can you do a video on ur cleaning techniques for the birds cages. THIS WOULD HELP SO MUCH. (Just want to give my birdies what they need u know)
hi there! i have a youtube channel and i made a video when i got my lovebird-- when i first set up his cage it was a used cage so i went through the whole process of how i cleaned it.... you can check it out in my video here if you want! ruclips.net/video/CB3OtUQRt6A/видео.html i also have another video i filmed but havent edited yet of my cleaning the birds cage/enclosure again so maybe if you decide to subsribe you can see that too when i finally get it up
YEEEEEEEEEES
Arianna Santina thx I’m gonna watch I’m sure it will be a big help!
You should already know how to properly clean it before you get the bird.
Inflated Man they said her techniques they probably already know how but what they are doing isn’t the most effective and they haven’t had good luck finding a good way to do it. So they are asking for help
Can you do a bird Q & N because I’m a new bird owner and need some question to be answer. If you can do this in your next video that will be great.

Notice at 10:38, when you say "my birds love sitting outside of their cage on those rope perches", on the very left side of the screen, a birb comes in on one of those ;0 perfect timing lol
I love that 😂 I actually never noticed it before!!

My rules for getting a cage are: if you can’t get a good size cage for your bird (teeny tabletop cage) don’t get a bird at all, or get a smaller bird if you haven’t already bought one. A lot of birds, like you have said before, get rehomed and it’s really sad to see a bird crammed inside a little cage before being sent back and losing trust in other humans too. Do your research!
P.S: You are such a good inspiration to me, I love birds and I want to talk to others and share my knowledge to beginners. Thank you for informing people! ❤️
GuEsS wHaT
MY BIRD IS EATING VEG but my other is still addicted to seeds 😔 he does nibble some cabbage though
LOVE these videos it gives me inspiration for what i want to do for my birds
i wish you would put my cage in your video because i submitted it so you could critique it because my mum and dad think my birds have a great life and diet but they unfortunately do not i am working on it though
diets first
then trust
then housing
Try making what you are giving them smaller so it is easy and cool for them
mik pears not to flex but once I got my budgies I gave them veg and they ate it without hesitation
My cockatiel won’t touch full veggies. But he LOVES chop, and eats it no problem, so many try that if you haven’t.
The way I got my bird to eat veggies is i shredded up some carrots then took a bite to show him that it was ok to eat. Then he ate it. Some birds prefer chunks of veggies, or peeled. It all depends on your bird tho. I hope you bird starts eating veggies soon. And it takes time so don’t give up. Try different varieties of fruits or veggies to see what you bird prefers :) good luck I guess
try lettuce or bell peppers. Both are great for budgies and cockatiels. Since lettuce is almost identical to lettuce, your birb may just eat it! Hope it helps! (subscribe!)
I got a green cheek conure and we are getting him a massive cage with lots of toys on friday. I got him last thursday (16th) And he already comes to my hand and sits on me. He still bites me a bit but they said it’s because he’s a baby(4 months) Do you have any suggestions for me to tame him better? Also he will go on my hand but when i move me hand he gets scared.
Hi! I have a GCC and I suggest stick training for starters, it's what I did with mine and it caused her to be more open to things.
Baby conures are mean sometimes, I would wear long sleeves and stick train. Lots of treats such as nutriberries or just good old millet!
yikes Thank you guys!!! He loves me now and he flies to me and loves to be on my shoulder but only bites when he’s scared. But he now nibbles and likes my fingers and he’s still 5 months.. He’s the best and he takes showers with me
i have the same bird and its 4 months old too! we got him not long ago and he doesnt come to us the only thing he will do is eat grapes from the end of the stick we are holding
alisha hussain my bird is 7months now and he comes to me when i call and then i put my finger out.. He still has a biting problem but idk what to do abt that

That IS HORRIBLE
Really informative video like it Great job.
14:07 Omg this cage tho. I do have the reaction when I see people with cages like this and they be like this is the best I got. Come on now lest lest make a DIY cage and toys. It not hard.

Just fast forward to the cage how amazing definatly going to look see if i can make something similar in corner of the room for my 4 fuzzy friends
They are very affordable on Etsy but we built our own and their cages are on each side of the tree. They just go in their cages to eat and that’s pretty much it
My heart dropped when they said they only feed their bird millet

14:07 it doesn't even have perches how can humans be that cruel where is humanity 😲😤😤😤
Whoever has that cage, shouldn't be allowed a bird. They are living creatures still, and at least give them the humanity for that 😤. I'm getting a green cheek next week and I'm so excited 😁 I have researched everything and got a bunch of natural wood perches from my trees. And lots and lots of toys.
@@kiwi4609 sooo jealous my mam says the only bird I’m allowed is a budgie but green cheeks are soo cuteeeeeeee but maybe once I get the budgie I’ll love it just as much

my parents allow me to have any bird thats small
am feeling bad for you tho
my cage came with a perch near the bottom of the cage
it also came with a plastic perch but i took that out.
atleast im lucky that i had a perch
its a literally joke
I’ve noticed so many videos on RUclips that are like: “I got a new Budgie!” And it ends up that almost all of them are the same. A little girl, a man, or a parent getting a bird and being uninformed and end up getting a tiny cage with dowel perches and plastic toys, almost all of the birds have clipped wings. I’m glad that you’re spreading the message that getting birds requires research, care, effort, and quite a bit of money. Thank you for informing everyone about cage and bird care. I love your Videos! 💖
7:11 Pearl on the side in the background is so cute actually thought she was apart of the photo for a sec
I watched this late but some of these cages just enraged me. I as a bird owner will never be happy with my budgie diet or cage. I will always want my budgie to be more engaged. Thank you for doing these vids. They are so helpful.
Yaaaaay! Cage reaction! Live laugh birds! I'm so happy!!!!!😁😁😁
It's because of your channel that my budgies get chop. I didn't know that they needed it before i discovered this channel.
That makes me so happy!! I’m so glad your budgies are living a better life now!!
Im actually glad that here in Australia we have experienced pet store workers.
They all know what they're talking about when it comes to animals.
Birds, Dogs, Fish, Cats, Reptiles, they have groomers and experienced vets with degrees.
Why do people even buy happy huts if it's dangerous, companies quite selling em
Cristian Omar Galvan Irizarry
Probably because unfortunately not everyone does research before getting a bird. They just buy one and get what the pet store recommends for it and what they think looks “cute” or what they THINK the bird will like, without knowing what’s actually dangerous and unsuitable for a bird or that type of bird in particular.....I just wish more people would do their research before getting a bird 🙄😪
Cris Cris my birds have a smol hut I made for them with ribbon covering the hot glue (3 small strips) it’s made of foam and only the boy bird goes into it
I love watching your birds fly around in the background while I listen to the video 😂
I'm reserching but I can't get a bird till ive finished college and have a job
It's good you're not impulsively getting one and doing the responsible thing instead 💖
Good luck! Which type were you thinking of getting?

Thank you for your informed and generous advice. I really appreciate your love and support for small birds.
I wish people would see more of your content since in my country there like a stereotype in every pet store and it’s heartbreaking. There is always a dad that bring his 4-5 year old son/daughter to the pet store then leave while buying 2 budgies in a small cage and I feel bad anytime I see that! I always know that these birds are usually for decoration there they never get toys or a good diet they are just there so the kid can see it then leave and do something else.
I love these videos! Duckie (Ducky) is the CUTEST! Cockiteails are So cute! Is it just me or does anyone else like the mohak on their heads!

Edit / question: my first bird that I still have today was hand raised so he was very tame when we go him and we were best friends but when my school work got harder I felt like he was getting lonely so I got him a friend. But a few days after I let them settle in together it’s like my first bird just forgot about his tricks and things like not flying away when out of the cage so now both of them aren’t co operating and I would like your advice on how to tame both at the same time.

Can you make a video on how to get your birds to eat vegetables and pellets
Like if you agree 👍
I’ve done a lot of research on birds I thought I’d like, and decided on either a dusky conure or a green-winged macaw. My bird will have a whole room to herself with perches and toys and I’ll give her as much of my time as possible when I get her. Love your videos, thank you for giving such good advice to people for the sake of their birds ❤️
Conure, personally, I didn’t really think anyone should have a macaw, Mikey the macaw does a great job, but still,
All of the avian professionals I have asked during the past 15 years agree that the "cement" (or similar) perches meant to control the nails of birds are useless for that job and can only cause hardship to their feet if used regularly (even if they are smooth on top). They say there is no proof whatsoever that they have any effect on the nails. I personally never observed that they were efficient so I stopped using them years ago. I wonder what your thoughts are on that matter...
I’m not a huge fan of them either, I agree that they don’t really work. But if a bird has a lot of other perches in the cage then I don’t think having one cement perch will necessarily cause problems.
I learned a lot from your feedbacks & suggestions. Thank you so much for this video!
