It’s not the tire size, the clicking still happens even with stock wheels and new tires. Since you just reinstalled the wheels and torqued the nuts, the noise goes away for a few hundred miles but it will come back, guaranteed. Even square tire setup makes clicking noises. Good try though.
Hey, did it stop the clicking noise it made? I did the same and it stopped for awhile. But after a month plus, the clicking noise started appearing again . I doubt it’s the tyres
Great video! I have been having very bad clicking at low speed, I just ordered a set of michelin pilot sport 4s 255/40 20 front, 285/35 20 rear. Finally replacing my dunlops on my 2017 premium. I hope this fixes the issue, if not, time to remove the rotors to see if the rust spots could really be causing it. What did you torque your wheels to?
Sven I torque the wheels to 98ft/lbs I used this site for tire specs tiresize.com/tires/Michelin/Pilot-Sport-4S.htm The diameter is close but the revs per miles is off by 4 from front to rear. Hopefully that doesn't cause issues with the tcm.
You can also f Up ets system with different overall tire diameters. I went with 275/40 and 315/35 revolutions off by 1 but overall diameter pretty much equal, got the fat car booty haha
Put a little bit of anti seize between the wheel and brake rotor (front wheels) this gets rid of the clicking noise too. A friend of mine did it on his.
Cal thanks for the comment. I will definitely keep that in mind. I used this site for reference. It's very handy and has all tire brands. tiresize.com/tires/Toyo/Proxes-R888R.htm
@@phothrottle I agree on not over torqueing. However its recommended to go to 110 for track use. I need to check the owners manual to be 100% on that one. The Nismo's come stock at 110. I was getting the clicking all the time last year. It would go.. then come back etc. It would go away anytime I would wash the car.. then come back a week or so later. Then I had some work done on the car over the winter.. When the shop put the wheels back on.. And I picked up the car in January.. the clicking was gone and never came back. I also have a 2017 so I had the caliper clips already etc. But man this was so annoying.
@@feld3d take the wheel off put some cooper anti seize on the wheel hub and the brake hat. I did that and the clicking never came back and it's been several seasons now. Give that a try and let me know.
My 2017 nsx had same issue. Took weeks until I found your video. New tires and all went away. Many thanks!
I’m glad you solved the issue. Good info on the TQ split display. Enjoy the car
Thanks Patrick hopefully this helps with your clicking on your car.
285 35 20 front 325 30 20 rear, what i run. Rohana wheels , i also installed clips on the front calipers. I agree about tire sizes
Awesome vid dude! Wheels are lookin 😍
Brodie you should try out that permanent tire shine. Works awesome!
This is good information, I could use this as reference on future upgrade on my tires. 👍🏼
This will save your car from premature wear and save you time and money in the long run.
Good work brother!

@@phothrottle just saw that. The diameters were nearly identical so I figured they would be fine. How far off are the stock tires?
@@svenstraessle6127 I just checked you should be good. The stock diameter and rev is very close to the Michelin. 👍
@@phothrottle I should find out soon, they are being put on now. Thanks for checking!! Be safe. I enjoy your videos

looks like a problem solved! I hate those tire stickers, u can never rip the clean off.
Yeah solved and hopefully for ever. The stickers are so sticky they remind me of a glue mouse trap.

Fresh meat ! 🥩 hopefully tracks can be open so i can swing by and visit your shop
Yeah I would live to see what you done to your car this year!
i got the noise on my 2020 with stock wheels and dunlop from the factory. do you think the dunlop causes the clicking noise?
Same

Just a comment you should put those numbers into a table. Much easier to follow when watching 😃

I had this clicking noise on stock wheels and tires... The fix ended up being more torque on the wheels.
I would caution on adding more torque. Eventually you will over torque and stretch the studs. The clicking will come back.

What width rims are used
10 front 12 rear
Torque to 110 instead of 98
First 10 seconds hurt to watch.
35lbs was the weight. Haha not everyone is at your level Peter.
