Nope, if you wait more to brake, you will gain in the slow part of the corner, but your turn exit velocity will be inferior, so with long straight after the corner, is better to enter the corner a little bit slow but with a better exit velocity, you will have that advantage for all the straight if the cars had more or less same acceleration performance.
No dude, in sector2, you can clearly see piastris braking skills by braking late + getting faster exits, and while in sector3, leclerc had all the exits maxed out
A crazy stat nobody talks about leclerc is that from bahrain to monaco, he has always been p4 or higher. Hes now also continuing the same form ever since hungary.
@@the_vortex1537 Fair point, just 4 races, but has a charles fan, I'm happy that he's back in this form he started this season after horrendous mistakes from both his side and the team (Like austria qualifying and the strategy for silverstone)
Literally the difference is made through the right-left hander at the top of the castle section. Oscar tries to open up the corner, obviously hoping to get a better run out of the exit. Leclerc just takes way more speed through there and doesnt bother opening the corner up as much, but it actually works much better. Oscar was equally as quick throughout the rest of the track (more or less).
@@lucatarolli7950 the deployment of the ers in quali is automatic as far as I know, so the drivers don't have to worry about always clicking the overtake button after every traction zone
Everyone wanna be the next Senna and figure the longer you wait before you hit the brakes the faster the lap time will be but the age old slow in fast out is in full view here. The problem arises though in that to brake earlier and get out of corner with more speed is one thing while the ability to brake later and later and later and get out of the corner with same speed is pinnacle racing and so hard to achieve.
Yes, I'm wondering the same... Having the time of each section is easy, but where they brake and how they turn, it's a mystery! the animation is so smooth too
What will concern Ferrari a bit is that many times at the end of the straight, Piastri was closer, indicating good straighting speed, which is where you need it to overtake. Together with DRS, the race could be interesting. That being said, being close, and actually overtaking are 2 different things, and it's quite possible McLaren, even if they are quick, aren't quick enough to overtake. They need to undercut
not sure if Leclerc just has better acceleration out of corners or Piastri was braking late and compromising his exits, or in the words of Peter Windsor, Leclerc is just a better short corner driver, braking just right that would extend the straights
Seems that the out of corner acceleration was the difference maker between Leclerc and Piastri. Idk if it's a certain advantage of the powertrain being able to push more power to the tarmac at certain low speeds out of corners or if its a millisecond difference between the drivers getting earlier on the acceleration
0:43 The jiggles on the straight that are unnecessary really slows piastri down, but this is every other driver too Leclerc just has it perfect with so much stability
Oscar outbraking Leclerc but the Ferrari has better power down and straight line speed, or so it seems. Be interesting to see Oscar in that Ferrari. Would be very interesting to have throttle position in the video because just comparing does not give the complete picture. Great graphics though.
Leclerc made the difference with the setup. They are 2 brilliant drivers that drive their cars to the limit, and Leclerc won with a setup with fewer aerodynamics supports.

lol what a useless comment. Having the fastest car is not permanent guys. McLaren had the fastest car for the last races I don’t know how you could deny.
If Piastri was second witch gap 0,3 after bad lap, Norris supposed be first or second very nearly Leclerc. Norris is not champion driver. If He will be master, he do it like Vettel. He must have a car fast almost 1s than everone. Mclaren won when their drvers had a 1s fast car than everyone. Netherlands and Hungary. Only then
These visualisations are getting too good 😶
A perfect example of going fast on the straights and going fast on the corners,
Ferrari’s recent update really made the machine fast af
2022 RB and Ferrari were the same. RB was quicker on the straights and Ferraris the best in corners.
A perfect example of loosing from pole 😢😢

Charles’ form is insane for the past few weeks! So much looking forward to the race results
wow, the fact that Leclerc was pulling away from Piastri in the straight, despite giving him a slipstream😳
it’s a joke btw :)
But Oscar was disadvantaged by having to driver over that wiggling red line all the time. Probably got distracting.
kinda crazy they can keep the car stable despite having so much contacts
Ferrari's running an illegal DRS. The rear wing opens too wide. So wide Piastri could drive into it.
Lol the replies 😂😂😂

Yep. also LEC modulates throttle and initiates rotation mid corner and squares exit earlier.
I'd say also that he used less hybrid in the first part of the circuit while piastri used more of it in the first part.

Charles so quick coming out of the castle section
Amazing! Thank you very much! Is there going to be a Peres/Sainz video?
The exit he got out of T1 and the Castle section...
Can see the effect of mini DRS or may be the powerful engine. But definitely catching him on straights with DRS closed.
my man faces the fear of crashing
Fantastic ! Where do you get your data from ????
I think that Leclerc is easier on the brakes in some corners because he is keeping tyres on optimal temp for accelerations.
Awesome! If you can show the speed of both it would be even more interesting. Bravo anyway..🤙🏼
So turn 2 and castle section are stronger areas for Leclrec but Piastri was able to carry more speed in turn 1. Interesting...
Oscar can win this race if he just perfects his cornering.
Looks like Charles had the better exit around the corners.
