It depends on the cruise. The dive takes about 2 hours (plus travel). Some groups have a long wait in between so people can explore the jungle around the cenote but if you tell them you are in a hurry, should be quick. My advise is to ensure it will booked in advance and they know your cruise departure time. Hope this helps.
It is about 5 hours all in (including travel from Playa). Diving time is only about 2 hours but the travel will add the most. If you can make it, certainly worth the trip. Hope this helps.
Good question, some of the cenotes have both air and water filled caverns and caves. Also, there are some pretty impressive free divers who can hold their breath for a very long time. Water levels also change over time so some of the water filled caverns today were dry at some point and vice versa. Hope this answers your question!
Thanks for the kind words! The water was 18C and the max depth was only 15M (40 feet). An amazing dive overall and well worth it if you are in the area.
thanks for sharing. we recently did this dive and it was amazing. how were you able to get video footage? did you have professional lighting...? we tried with our go pros but didn't turn out so well. thanks! :)
If anyone is planning a trip to Cozumel Q Roo Mexico go to hotel Casa Del Mar's Dive shop and ask about the Aereolitos Cenote on the island. I'm in training right now for my Divemaster and will definitely be going for Instuctor. If anyone has any questions about Cavern diving or diving in general send me an email or shoot me a text. Nice video ! What was the water temperature ? And what was your max depth ? :)
Were you able to do this? I'm hoping to do the same thing in a couple months...leave my cruise ship, dive this cenote, and get back in time.
sweet, how did the mayans swim down there though?
how long does this dive take....if I were to come off a cruise then time from cruise ship to dive and back...total time
We paid $80 each but had our own gear... Different tour providers will charge different rates depending on travel distance as well... Hope this helps.
how much is it?
