They’re building sea walls & other infrastructure to secure the fate of the island if they will stop fracking the oysters there and rebuild the oyster reefs the island will rebuild itself there’s hope for Tangier if the people who live there will be willing to get educated and co operate and except help

And yes there are a variety of multicultural people on the island the mayor has adopted children from different ethnic backgrounds and there are a tremendous amount of African American waterman who are dependent upon the food and work that theese Bay Area islands and fishing village towns support...... some of thier families have either lived on those islands or in the neighboring towns and worked in the fishing / crabbing oyster industries for generations.........but this is NOT about race it’s about saving the islands and preservation of the environment and a way of life .......NOT race
