Excellent job! A ton of Paul's post Beatle work is overlooked.

James, I really enjoy your channel. I just watched your video about your health report. Im on my fourth time battling cancer. First time lost a kidney and adrenal gland, second time lost most of a lung, third time it was in my ribs. They told me I wouldnt live but Im hardheaded and didnt listen so Im still here. This time it came back in my ribs again and is twice the size as the first time in my ribs. You keep up the fight and good attitude my friend. Ive learned a lot from you.

I agree this is another McCartney gem hidden away.....he is so good at creating nice tunes from simple chords with an unique picking style. Nice lesson 👍.

Saw him that tour. I was an impoverished student, and spent 2 weeks food money for a ticket off a scalper. I got to see 2 Beatles 'In My Life.'

Hi James, I totally agree with you that “Put it There” by Paul McCartney is a mini masterpiece, and I really appreciate you teaching it to us. I’ve always loved this song. “Beautiful Boy” by Lennon (should be Sir John) and this song by Sir Paul - both about fatherhood; both tug at my heart strings as a father (who dearly loves his son) and as a son (who sorely misses his wonderful Dad).
“I don’t care if it weighs a ton!” Powerful stuff!
I had the thrill of seeing Paul’s “Flowers in the Dirt Tour” at the SkyDome in Toronto on December 8, 1990 (ten years to the day after John Lennon’s murder). He played a number of songs from this album: Rough Ride, This One, but I can’t remember if he played “Put it There”. I’m sure he did. How could I ever forget this song? Anyways, I’m rambling on. I do know that I had a GREAT time at the concert with work friends.
I am a full fledged, life long Paul McCartney (and Beatles) fan. Thanks for the great lesson!
    Ted

Another excellent tutorial! I have a pretty large repertoire but I can always make room for Paul. And a third of those songs I learned here! Thanks again for making me pick up my guitar.

You’re right about that one being underrated. He probably wrote that ditty when he was a Beatle.

Well taught and played once again.... as always over the years!!! I never normally comment... or ask for requests!!!!.... mainly because u always play stuff I like and ur a led zep man!!!... I do aspire to guys like robben Ford but I know I will never get there due to havin ptsd from Afghanistan I struggle with my concentration and can’t persevere with scales.... any tips would be appreciated!!! It took me two months to get the rain song under my fingers!!! I hve o do things on small pieces for it to sink in now!!! But thank you truly for all your vids over the past few years mate in my opinion u r the best instructor on RUclips!!!!

You’re probably asking the wrong guy, I don’t know much about scales at all. I don’t really see the fretboard that way. But you’re ahead of me - it took me 10 years to figure out the Rain Song. :)

James James I only got it sussed thanks to you.... I couldn’t even get the tuning myself lol.... if u don’t know scales.... how do u work out solos.... I hve enough knowledge to work out what key a song is in normally but even 15 years into the guitar as a casual player I can’t get my head around figuring out solos!!! But as I said ur vids inspire me to pick up the guitar for my own pleasure all the time although I seem to be gravitating more towards acoustic these days
