Nice comparison.. clear and comprehensive! For me, the Nux sounds better than the Boss, which was a real surprise.
I would love to hear a review from you on the Nux mighty 8bt mkii with the additional functionality in the app.

Great video. Thanks Ian. I like the fact that there are South Africans doing reviews. Convinced me to go for the Nux!

Much as I approve of your ZA/NA (?) accent, "NUX" is pronounced NEW-X in spoken English according to NUX (Cherub CN) themselves. Hey, as an owner of many NUX products and native English speaker from a time when grammar, punctuation, spelling and pronunciation were taught, insisted upon and examined, I used to pronounce it as spelled too for a long time. The keyboard doesn't type the subtle ">" used in the "NU>X" branding for so long well, which I suppose gave some hint of it.
Returning to the relative mini amp comparison, of these three I chose and use the 3W Blackstar Fly 3 & Blackstar Fly 3 + Fly 103 6W Stereo combo for my battery powered portability deployment needs. Taking into consideration my purpose for the Fly 3s as I already had a Blackstar ID:Core Stereo 40W (now two thereoff with the addition of the latest V3 incarnation of it) for my primary practice amp, as well as multiple other larger electric performance and acoustic amps .
In my country (AU) the NUX8 BT 8W with BT sells for around the same price as the Fly 3+Fly 103 6W Stereo combo (no BT) which includes its 240v AC to 6.5v DC step down PSU in the pack. The latter Blackstar 6W Stereo combo is really the direct comparison to the NUX price point for price point, with the advantage of Stereo which it trades off against the NUX's feature of Bluetooth. So in that sense, the standalone 3W Fly 3 isn't a fair or balanced comparison considering it sells for half the price of the NUX8BT or BOSS Katana Mini.
Not that its a 'bad' choice, but IMV the BOSS Katana Mini trades heavily for market share on the BOSS and Katana brandings. The disadvantage is that it doesn't come supplied with a PSU as the Blackstar combo pack and NUX do. Typically Roland expensive, adding that tot he BOSS costs an additional $65 in my country for an all up of $224 (33% more expensive) vs $169 for either of the other two.
I have to agree with you that the outstanding value performer here in class is the NUX, which isn't unusual.
That said, were I buying around those price points for home bedroom, studio or teaching practice, and it was to b my only amp rather than a portable adjunct to others, for pretty much the same money as the Blackstar Stereo combo or NUX I'd probably go with a more versatile and powerful Blackstar Debut 15E (AUD$169) or ID:Core 10W Full Wide Stereo (currently AUD$204) instead, appreciating neither of those have intrinsic BT support. I use a zero delay Taotronics intrinsic rechargeable battery powered BT switchable TX/RX which offers BT adaptability to all devices, e.g. the ID:Core, Fly 3 et al, for that when required. It's certainly a buyers' market out there with a plethora of choice. Being a keen shopper, not long ago I picked up my new replacement Blackstar ID:Core 40W V3 for $249 shipped, just $25 more than the price of that 6W Boss Katana Mini!

Blackstar Fly 3 is still available. Recently purchased a couple. 3 watts but you can connect another Blackstar speaker for 6 watts.

@@watchmania46 something, but not really. And also I don't like its delay, its strange, at least for Acoustic instruments

That doesn’t sound very good. Perhaps it sounds good in the room.
