Thank you so much!!! I’m still a newbie and I appreciate the information! There are so many tools out there and getting honest feedback will save me a lot of money and wasted time. I haven’t even heard of these tools!
Another less expensive alternative to the MicroJig Gripper, is the Milescraft GrabberPRO. It is basically the same thing (but a little larger), for about $39. Black Friday sale on Amazon right now for $29). Some reviewers say it might even be designed slightly better (more ergonomic, and more grippy) than the MicroJig version. I agree with them.
I would actually consider making your own rail extension, buy another 1400 rail and cut off one piece at 800mm, now you have a little short rail for small tasks which is very convenient, plus you have the extension, and for not that much extra over the TSO extension. It feels illegal to cut a festool rail on a miter saw, but it's super easy to do 😂
I'd rather cut off my right arm. 😁 I don't have a clue how someone could bend one of these things. If they're that uncoordinated, I'd hate to see their car. Green tools are outrageously expensive for most home shops, but they sell for a reason. TSO is the same. No, the new Festool connectors are also self-aligning.
I would advise not to hang your track(s) in that orientation. Gravity will eventually deform your splinter guard. Instead, flip the track and brackets so there is no pressure on your splinter guard. Your welcome!!😊
There IS a way to get 220/240v power in your situation (most likely), you see all US houses are wired with 220v, they have power from a -120v, common, +120v center tapped power supply. Now, each outlet is powered either from the -120v/common, or the +120v/common, giving 120v to the device. How does this help? Well I built a double 110v plug to a box, and then ran the two hot leads to the sides of a 220v plug. The 220v plug was rated 15 amps at 220 (should be enough to power your saw). The white wire coming from each plug was not used. This gives the power to the 220v plug to be -110v / + 110v - which is exactly how they wire the 220v plug. To be ideally safe, you would want to put a circuit breaker on the 220v part that is rated so it will pop before the other two do. This is because if only one of them pops, you will still have 110v to ground on the other line. It is a hack, but it works. the only requirement is two outlets that are on different sides of the power line, and every other breaker pulls from the other side, and each room is required to have two circuits min. In my case, the outlet to the right and the outlet to the left of where I was trying to power a Window A/C unit was able to provide the power. Again, no t ideal, but it would allow you to use your bandsaw. Note: I'm not recommending this, I'm not saying this is perfect, or perfectly save (due to concerns above if one breaker pops), and I leave it to you to do any needed research to create the ideal box, btw - you could add a circuit in the box that has two relays, so the power coming in from A only passes through of there is power from B, and B only if there is power from A. This would solve the issue with just 2 relays. Also, if you plug it into two outlets on the same side of the circuit, there won't be any power across the 220v. (as it will be for example, -110v / -110v. or +110v/+110v, and as such 0v power.
i don't do wood work. in fact I've been watching yours and others channels for a few years now. its also cool that your local to me. its been neat to watch the tiny shop and the channel grow. now on to the question. What do you think about using the Arbortech disc in a flattening jig?
I like the power carver attachment. How does it compare to the power rotary chain saw attachment that your fellow video guy “Stumpy Nubs” severely cut his hand on? He has a full review on the accident on his web site.
While the KM stop block is solid, it doesn't do what all of the other ones do - flip out of the way. A must have to square the end of a piece that then gets cut to length.
26 mins: being pedantically literalistic.... the one thing sanding does not do is suck! But it does, of course, spew out dust for our lungs to suck it up, and for nooks & crannies in our workshops to hold onto it, etc... only to have it drift out into the air and onto our paint and varnish. Excellent video. Now to find suppliers in UK
I'm so disappointed that your channel is becoming like every other youtube channel. A giant infomercial. I started watching woodworking videos to see how people with more experience than I have does things. Now it seems like all of you guys are just trying to sell us things we don't need. I get why you all are going that way, the money and of course free tools. However, when I started watching 731 woodworks a few years ago he was making things, fast forward to now and all that channel is is QVC for tools. I wish you all would get back to making things first and selling tools later. So sad. I won't unsubscribe for now but I truly hope you at least balance your tool sales with projects as they are much more interesting. Bourbon Moth's Jason Hibbs has A sponsor during his videos as does Keith Johnson but they always make a project as well. Please get back to making stuff and not selling tools, you're so much better than that.
Got rid of 731 as well. I like turning 2 knobs on the feather board, which takes too much time. Hard to find a true woodworker any more. Fortunately there are still a few.
I had a Northern Tool track saw track that somehow bent on the flat, effectively making the track useless. Of course, it’s a discontinued model so now I have a saw but no track.
That's true what you say; and on the other hand at 19:09 he offers a stop which has two knobs but nobody spends lots of time adjusting them... Hahahaha!
You're right about the price mmoncur, just realized the price of both mentioned products was set to my currency but not US dollar ( can be set at the bottom left corner of the web site ) , sorry for the mistaken and apologize to the video creator. Is he named Spencley ?
I wouldn't touch that "Turbo Plane" with your ten-foot-pole. Angle grinders are not woodworking tools. The RPM is much too high for the purpose. If that disk comes apart, you'll be lucky to get away without a ride in the meat wagon. Nope, leave the angle grinder to hacking up metal, like it was designed to do.
Sanding sucks? I love sending been doing it since I was a kid with my dad, all types of wood and dry wall sanding is so therapeutic and relaxing at least to me, either or weird or dudes today are kinda..squishy soft.
this video could have been 5 minutes. It really says something that you are concerned about your time enough that having to turn 2 knobs feels like you're wasting your time...but no worries about us to make the video say what it needs to in the time it should.
$513 for a acrylic made 6 in 1 router jig ?? $159 for the turbo plane disc ?? And $240 for the BEST stop block ?? WOW !!! Same facial expression on my face here just like yours when you questioning $50 for the large GRR-RIPPER .......
I am on a fixed income and can't afford any of the tools and gadgets pushed on your site and so many others. When was the last project you did on RUclips that was not for your patreon followers?

You, sir, are a professional salesman. Not meant to be insulting, that's a skill!
To cut 90 degrees with a track saw for sheet goods, get the Insta-railsquare XL. It's 24 inches long for better square cuts.
Don’t see the leather belt buckle link. Bummer.
you are blind.
Well I took advantage of your discount and bought the Master Bundle, what a bargain! Cheers

Dude delete this before you kill someone. You literally edited it to say "I'm not saying this won't kill you" 🤦♂️🤦♂️ man people suck

When did QVC buy RUclips?
agreed
I just bought the 6 in 1 European mop with Spencley's 10% off discount code. Can't wait.

If you wanna buy a longer track for your festool without getting broke, buy a makita one. Its totally compatible.
Or a PowerTech or Wen. Both compatible with Festool, Makita, Milwaukee

I feel ya. I actually blocked 731 because I got so sick of the infomercials…

OMFG TWO KNOBS??!!!?? Who has the time to adjust two knobs on a feather board! Thanks for saving me almost .2 seconds!

...not all of us are able to handle ten inches, huh? I'd say "challenge accepted," but I've already studied for this test many times.

Instead of the pricey gripper check out the Milescraft version. 😉
“Not having” is a lot different than not buying sooner. A giant commercial.

IMO... if a stop doesn't flip up it's useless.
Nice brand new shirt! Rip 🪦
You are a salesman for the big boys.
Wait, just need to sell a kidney
C'mon! Keep it family friendly!
One day I'll work up to 10 inches....
Also, 23:16, typical reaction to trying to listen to the green suiters podcast.

No bambu lab 3d printer? Disappointed.
