    Been waiting for Nier 3 for the longest, if you haven’t yet, play Nier Replicant, it’s a masterpiece.
    My question though is how can a third nier surpass Automata, who would develop it, and how would it progress the plot. I always thought Taro was dragging his feet on the prospect of a third nier game because Automata is a monster of a game that would be extremely daunting to follow up.

      So that's the thing, it could be another NieR... Or maybe he's returning to its predecessor series Drakengard... Or something totally unrelated. A NieR rhythm game? It could be anything. So hype responsibly and let's hope for the best! :)

      For me it all adds up Drakengard 3 with Replicant Automata "nihilism" "existentialism" Jordan Peterson UG Krishnamurti Sartre Nietche the Bible Enoch girls committing suicide because of beauty standards, absurdity of men, current wars people always wanting to be better and then they die. Nier "3" is just going to add up its a Catharsis for me I hope Emi Evans and Janique Nicole will be singing again.

      With Drak/NieR, the vast majority of the timelines hasn't really been directly covered. That means they could leverage that to insert any major events (or create new ones along the way.)
      I watched a 6 hour discussion on the full timelines and I would be crazy excited to see them create something within that current framework

    As a Persona fan, I am clearly OK with some dating sim in my RPG. And first person dungeon crawl, you say? With art vaguely reminiscent of Etrian Odyssey? Yeah, I'll keep an eye on that.
    I'm don't think that farming game is based on Naoko Takeuchi in particular, but rather the 90s Sailor Moon anime. (blonde title screen girl did immediately remind me of Sailor Venus) If you've never seen the original manga art, it has quite a different style than the anime.

    I'd be so stoked for a new NieR game. I started with NieR: Automata then played NieR Replicant, and they are both fantastic. I'd love to see what they could come up with next!

    Good luck to Square-Enix in making PC ports ... which are required to run through a large variety of specifications (which is one reason why you've been hearing about poor PC ports in recent years).

    I think Reynatis looks pretty cool. But they really need to increase the font size. The text is so small that I could barely see it during the trailer. Way too small. I hope they fix this, because quite a few games in the last decade had this problem with the text just being way too small. I swear this is a ploy to sell more glasses. I am wearing glasses. I can not see anything without them. I hope Reynatis fixes the font size. And if not, I will just skip it or something.

      Developers still haven't realized that if people turn on the subtitles, it is because they need to read them.

    I honestly hope there isn't another Nier game. A 'nier' game is structured so that there is a twist regarding the common enemies you fight in the game. The only reason why they were able to get away with a second game was by tricking people into thinking that the twist in Automata would be the same in the first game; simply that the robots are conscious, and that was all there was to it. The game subverts expectations by going much deeper than that. I don't know how you could repeat similar plot ideas without it being predictable.

    Square's problem is that the main games they make and push SUCK and the great smaller rpgs they make they don't. Stop trying to Westernize Final Fantasy Main and pushing to become FromSoftware or Capcom

    Honestly, when it comes to Nier, I would rather they do a remaster/remake of Drakengard. Going back to play the original is harsh (imo). But the story and presentation is still worth it

    I think it's impossible for a CEO of a company to do anything but the worst possible things for the customers. The only way to constantly make more money as capitalism dictates is to screw over ordinary people at some point. These big corporations have already far surpassed the point where they can make more money off goodwill and doing things that gamers/employees like. The good news is all the RPGs have moved or are moving to PC so you don't ever have to deal with these dumbasses again.

    • @SuperDerek
      @SuperDerek  4 месяца назад +1

      I get where you're coming from, though I _do_ think there is a difference in _flavor_ of CEO. For instance, Iwata of NIntendo was an incredibly humble person who served his employees, took a pay-cut rather than cutting employees during tough times, and ultimately died a hero. Iwata's definitely one the _good_ end of that spectrum, as opposed to a Bezos type. So the question is I suppose, on what end of the spectrum will this duo operate?

    • @martinomagic9230
      @martinomagic9230 4 месяца назад +1

      @@SuperDerek While I don't know all of Iwata's story. It is not commonly known, but it's actually part of Japanese law for the CEO to take a pay cut instead of harming employees, this not out of the goodness of their hearts. They are not allowed to fire or takes their losses out on employees due to the law. This why you never hear of massive layoffs on the Japanese side of gaming, they may disband a branch and shift the employees elsewhere, but they are not allowed to fire them. For example, Square Enix fired its English staff recently yet did nothing to the Japanese side due to not being allowed to do so. Another good example that has to do with Sony is even though the company is Japanese all of their company owned exclusive studios are western studios because they have the right to fire and destroy them when they want to make money fun stuff!
      So, as I was saying before, I think it is impossible for a CEO to continuously make more money and also be a moral person with the customer in mind. This does not mean, if you met them in person, they would be the devil incarnate. There will always be a turning point where they have to make the worst immoral decisions to make more money unless there is literal laws preventing them from ruining people's lives like in more civil countries. I imagine this duo will do everything in their power to make more money which means following the trends of what makes the most money. You know price increases on services,games, and more live service games.
