No meter is & will always be better for me. It’s so much easier to time to shots just based on the release point of the animation itself than watching a shot meter fill up.

It’s kinda harder to look at your release in this game with the shot release timing change. Gotta find the right jump shot that synchronizes with your preferred release timing.

Shots get slower with low stamina or faster with a defender nearby. And shooting is just a bit harder. Anyway I’m glad I can amuse you. We’re not all long time players of 2K, some of us a still learning 😉
Gotta know your release cue.
I’m shooting MUCH better with the meter man. The release times are waaaayyy to inconsistent for no meter unless you’re just a spot up.

I think i’m gonna rock meter on for a while. I got 1000 different timings based on each contest and how my stamina is. not enough of a boost to save me ever

@@eoStormy play around in the jumpshot creator there’s some good ones you can get. Players who jump actually get faster releases than the set shot this year.. also early release is the closest thing to normal release speed.

No meter is the wave. Trust. I’m not that strong of a shooter but if you practice your jumpshot (early release) you’ll make them. It normally feels smooth around the peak of the jumpshot. Another tip if you can get a shot your player jumps in the air it’s a lot easier to time.
Can u do a test on Def immunity.. I want to see if it's really worth it to invest in.. vs Timing impact...

I was balling with the meter on in the beginning, but turned it off after a few days because I always have it off previous years. No lie tho, I have been struggling with no meter & after seeing this I’m going to turn it back on!💯

I play with meter off. Back in the 2k15-2020 I always used the meter in old games and it took me a whole to adjust but now I am so used to shooting with the meter off its just natural.
Yep. I tried one the first day and even that small one just distracts me. Sucks the incentive isn't really there this yr tho.

I am finding it it easier to shoot with the meter on this year, but I noticed that when I turn off my shot meter it feels as though my jump shot timing speeds up. Has anyone else noticed this? Almost like there's a delay when the shot meter is turned on. Now that I know there's not that much of a boost, I'm probably going to stick with the meter on.
I’m usually the guy that rocks with no meter on but this year I will say I honestly green more with it on. Also, with how much shot timing changes due to your energy I feel meter on is the wave but like I tell everyone DO WHATS BEST FOR YOU!

Try looking at the feet with no meter, release as soon as the player jumps!!
That's a good cue to look at. It can be a great way to time a jumper especially with a good base.

Here’s a tip. I used to rely on the meter. Once I turned it off I realized it’s way easier to look at the rim while you’re shooting. You can time it easier by seeing your jumpshot in your peripheral. Use the player as a later or early determination and you’ll hit them.
How do you use no meter in Play Now Online. I see CT Hesi greening shots on every player. And I know every player has their own release timing

This year there's attribute and height requirements for all lower bases and upper releases for example Steph Curry requires a 96 3 point shot or 96 midrange shot and you gotta be between the heights of 5'7" & 6'4"
No all you need is a 91 3pt rating 6’4 or under because I have his base and release for my small guard
Some jumpers are season exclusive I know for sure ray allen is one cuz I can’t find it anywhere
I have the meter on for pro stick only. That way I get help with post fades and other shots I don't shoot often. I tried the meter for regular shots early on and it was just too chunky and obstructed my view and the small tusk shaped one wasn't great for me either. To me it's a year you have to really practice and have a good que.
Turned the meter on way easier to inconsistent with all this modes and impact depending on your stamina/contest/etc

After trying so many jumpshots I got familiar with a special one since yesterday. Now I have turned the shot meter off and its really good. Even though I know at some shots that I would not green when the shot meter would be on, I am greening much more with shot meter off. My guesses are, that we the shot meter off, the green window is slightly bigger.

I belive the meter has different cue .. causes bounce back witch is always a miss
If someone is in front of you, your meter is faster. If you are wide open, it will be the same timing as my court. That’s the reason why shooting is so hard this year…
@@TruthWr3kss that’s why you turn meter off and find a cue in the jumper. 2k speeds up your whole release but if you look for the same cue it doesn’t matter. Meter off will make you a better player. Your jumpshot is the shot meter.

Bro I can't make a shoot whenever the release timing was not perfect. Unlike all of the previous versions of 2k that you still have a high chance to make a shot even tho its not perfect release. Is there a way to fix that problem?

I love that in this game, the green is larger on lower difficulties. So, you can set a lower difficulty to make shooting more forgiving, but ratchet up other settings to make the rest of the gameplay more difficult. This is probably why they're giving you less of a boost when not using the meter, you can make shooting easier independent of overall difficulty.

No meter since 2k17 or 18 it's been a minute. For some reason it's in tha way for me.. I can't concentrate because I'm just looking at tha meter. This year it's like I have to concentrate even more, I'm an ok shooter this year.. I'm actually happy wit it.

If you get a release that has a nice flick of the wrist cue to release the ball, it’s money every time, no meter
If you can’t shoot or having trouble shooting put your release on late once you get the hang of it then you can put it on quick release

I normally turn it off but between struggling to find a jumper that fit me and wanting to be better I turned one on I still can’t use it to shoot cause it’s hard concentrating on the actual shot AND the meter but it does help me to know how far off I was when I do miss now
What about doing spin jumpers and step backs, is there a rule of thumb if im doing no meter

Did you test this on multiple attributes? Like back in 2k20 2ways slashing would normally need no meter to hit those 68 3 pt Attributes.
Does pro stick only still give the boost if I shoot w/ X?
I live in the West Servers, but I play with friends on the East Servers. So the timing is always off, and I have to use the Meter if I want to be consistent.

Shoot with that meter on career mode it’s easy to shoot with it off but once you go to park rec etc the shot timing changes bets to shoot with it on

I been using the meter and I struggled like crazy. I turned my meter off and my green percentage rate sky rocketed it’s so much easier to time the shot then it is trying to time the meter 🤙🏾

Im in the rim of both, I use the button with no meter, does that qualify for shot boost & meter for pro stick only. Reason I do this is if i'm off without the meter, then I use the shot stick to get my timing back down & It always felt comfortable to do post shots with the stick & meter, seems rushed with the button.
That’s why 22 was good cause people who casually play could actually score now it seems the game favors content creators

If anyone wants a decent jumper with the meter on try LaMelo base with Lonzo pure release. It’s pretty cash once you get the timing.

Ever since 20 I turn it off when the game is done downloading and I figure out how to shoot with the Jumpshot cues

Does the shot meter delay decrease the more I level up online? And does it ever go away? I have to release by button early online and the meter keeps going for another quarter second😭 but the meter stops moving when I release the button in the solo career

It’s latency… use a lan cabel and use the animation as a cue. Not the shot meter.
I prefer the meter, cause depending on the catch the timing changes so I’d rather just see the meter

Staring at the meter isn’t gonna help you that’s why it’s hard for me personally to use it because I’m so used to just watching for visual cues to release the ball
I just can't ever find my que if my meter off not a Comp player or anything shooting is a bit tough until you get your badges I have an 85 3 still can't green many but I don't have many badges either so badges are key I think

If you have decent finishing with good badges and pro touch, you'll want to try layup timing on as well
I dont get when to release. Everyone says on top of your head but even with A+ release time, 4/4 and very early it still has a red early after every shot i feel there is a weird time i have to shoot but i have no idea when it is what do i do. I also dont understand why timing is different on rec, nba, and park so there is no way to practice

Whites rarely go in. It’s green or brick this year. It’s easy to green this game but if you don’t it’s most likely a brick
Use the comet meter. That’s been the easiest meter for me to time
Make sure you hitting your shots in other modes hot zones matter play mycareer or play at the parks where you play with hero Cole or McGrady against the AI also I always try to get me a game in against the AI at thoses parks to make sure I got my timing down before I hop on rec
