He definitely brings to mind my first boss after I left the military. He said you have a skillset I need, and I can teach you the rest, what I can't teach you is to be positive and happy. I hadn't felt so relieved in two decades. A boss that is business-minded, doesn't micro-manage, but just wants to be kept informed and is a positive influence on the employees is a proper boss. I enjoy these weeklies. A bit of insight on the workings of the civilian sector has been a trove of information for me. Thank you all for producing this vlog!
Daniel, you need to be thinking about heat implications of so much glass on those containers. I'd suggest fitting external blinds that can be pulled down in the summer to keep the sun away from the windows.
18:15 "A lot of diesel for a grab" Sometimes I ask myself the same in my company. I mean, we only drive Transits to build fiber networks, but man, some of ours guys need to fill up every 550km, and I can get 700 out of one tank. If one of the worst of them drives my van and I drive it afterwards I can drive 2 days to site 1h away till the mileage goes down rather than up.
Daniel you are a real true to God legend brother. I have a terminal illness and before I leave this beautiful life I would give anything to meet you brother. You are a real inspiration to all people and one of those people that is called salt of the earth. I wish you nothing but the best of luck in everything you do brother. You are a legend...👍🙂👍
Hi Daniel & Team If you watch "Luke C in a HGV" flat bed lorry drivers have a height tool that adjusts to measure that load single handed and it folds up to store in the lorry. I guess you need one for yor digger deliveries. Another super Sunday morning workout with Ashville. Thanks.
‘Proud to be on the cover’ so you bloody well should be- I feel proud of you and I don’t even know you beyond never missing an episode of Ashville weekly😊
This is the only man that makes me want to be productive and improve my life! Im very proud of you man and im sure everyone as well! thankyou for using your valuable time to make videos for us all.
Hi Daniel...I'm from South Africa working as a Yard Foreman for a Railway company I'm inspired by your work keep it up brother 🙏 🙌....Ashville Aggregate 💪💪....We miss you at Carwow.
Love these videos… So good to see someone so passionate about what they do and do it well. Hard graft has definitely paid off, what a journey and you have a top notch operation there buddy. Congrats on the cover, brings back memories too of the excitement waiting for the new edition of that or Truck and Driver to come out, nowadays everything is so instantly available, kids will never know that feeling. The call with mum was hilarious 😂. Liked to see you order the new pump too, much better economics in the long run to take new, get the seal kit too and repair the old to keep as a spare in case of a future break too… Keep up the content 👍🏻
For the water pump, I'd recommend you send old one to be fixed and buy another one, so you have always one in reserve and btw you don't have to buy exact same one, take dimensions, take a look how much kW it has and how much amps it draws, and get a similar one.
Never thought I would see the day that one of your new (not yet fully painted) trucks where I live as its a little bit away from your patch but there it is large as life in Fort William in the Scottish Highlands. It's is unmistakable in the colours. Well done Daniel and the crew who keep the juggernaut that is ashville trucking. Onto even bigger things in the future.
Could you use the roof of the container put a solar system in for the compressor in tyre by save your self in electric maybe good idea with the new office too.
I loved the flex at 19:06 - 19:22 💪🏾 & how your mum is still the boss 😂 & bring Michael to the yard. I would like a Friday I am in the yard T-shirt to do my gardening in
Great to hear your Mum back on top form Daniel. You mentioned in passing possibly extending the yard, just an outside the box question. If you plan to extend the yard towards the railway yard (using the area behind the weigh bridge) would relocating the railway lines to the perimeter of the extended site make the yard flow well. I appreciate that the material bays would need to be turned around to allow you more space for plant hire and support services to move from your administrative area thus creating completely separate “clean” tarmac area with the offices & car parking and the “dirty” working yard where the wheel wash would be required? Keep up the great work, as always informative videos.
Glad to see Daniel putting that nonsense straight within the first couple of minutes - I saw that guy flapping in the comments and it felt like they were just trying to stir it. We all know there's changes happening and looking forward to hearing about it in the future.
Have a look at AMF panel for the generator. Connect into the incoming supply & this will automatically changeover the mains and auto start generator vise versa.
For level crossings . There is a company that manufactures special pads. Called strail and can be fastened to sleepers. But depending on GBRF design standards. They might have a equivalent recommended product or design that can be used for level crossings
Liking the new T-shirts, although I think credit goes to your Mum for the original idea ‘get that Terry to get me a T-shirt’! 😂 But please can the next T-Shirt design be ‘On the Road Again’ ❤
OMG - Just seen the trailer for "build the impossible" with Daniel Ashville on Nat Geo - So that's why Dan was jetting all over the world. Can't wait.... !!
Good morning Asheville, want to give "my two cents" on ideas for the company. 1. Plant hire has two workers why not get an additional van to service other commercial vehicles and have new or used tires for sale. Wrecker or heavy Wrecker you can save on recoveries by having one, I've seen them over here in the US moving flat beds around with material on them so it won't be idle it's making money 2. On weekends when checking the trucks the ready mix trucks should be spray foamed twice a month or pressure washed they are your build boards out on the road. 3. If you do extend the yard a closed-end wash station for trucks. Dirt and debris get in between and behind starts to wear out and crack equipment pressure washing once or twice a month.
On the rail concrete I thought you would need it lower for the wheel flanges? Looks like less than half an inch? Is that all the depth the train wheels need? (Thought the flanges were about 2 inches wider than the wheels)
comments missing is something at you tubes end i have a few of them vanish.......I think we should all trust dan as hes not a flexer. he always tells us the good the bad, the mistakes and losses which i think mates for even better reputation for being honest
Went to order a shirt and there are no size options. Also no mugs or water bottles. 😢 I have a hoodie and umbrella. Can you restock and give size options?
I'm curious why you haven't looked at any trucks that uses the tridem configuration, three axles in the rear with first and fourth axle being steerable. They have a better turning radius, and just about the same load capacity as the 8x4 with twin front axles.
A thorough internal financial audit of all the tire transactions might be advisable. The same goes routinely for all discrete aspects of the Ashville empire down to expenditures on toilet rolls and hand towels in the company facilities. Your CFO should be able to easily extract periodic reports for senior staff perusal.👀
Use a lot more recycled tyres, rubber mats are very strong for a lot of uses. Ya could get the name printed on them too, lot of bollards made from the recycled tyres
Hats off to the editing team. Not for a second consider double tapping the screen to skip forward. Enjoy every second.

Another t-shirt that'd be awesome "IT'S BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY BUT I DONT WORK IN THE BANK"
Or “On The Road Again”
Michael my brother you are older than me
Or ( nobody knows who did it dan)
Great ideas, man
Just terry on his phone… blown up proper 😂

For the next episode of Tyres Weekly, can you explain the actual difference between steer and drive tyres? (Maybe with manufacturer input)
27:30 That was very half hearted we wanna properly hear ‘ON the road again’ 💯😂💯

Put a piece of a convoyerbelt on steelplate youre going to install on your flatbed.
Thank you Ashville, I needed to hear that about the pricing
I'm surprised there's not a 'Tuesday and I'm on the road.....again" I was waiting for one for every day of the week lol
Why don't you look at getting a plant trailer and putting a couple of hitches on some of your trucks for the plant side
For level crossings . There is a company that manufactures special pads. Called strail and can be fastened to sleepers. But depending on GBRF design standards. They might have a equivalent recommended product or design that can be used for level crossings
Saw one of ur lorries at great eclleston tractor pulling they look realy smart
Learning something about editing for use in my channel ... another fantastic video from Ashville .... adios amigos ... Javier from Houston, Texas, USA
Hi Daniel, love the channel. Do you have UPS in the office to cover the downtime between the power going out and the diesel generator starting?
Make sure to put a rectifier on the line from the generator to the office. Rough power will mash up your PC's.
Good to get an update on the ex broadcasting containers! im sure they will look great!
Really made me smile when Daniel was telling a story about the commercial magazine 👍
I love how u have set up the content schedule....
Have you considered 20 mm reinforced x- conveyer belt rubber strips screwed down on the Timbers of flat bed for redundancy to protect your asset!
