Topps didn’t throw away any extra empty wax boxes they produced. Nothing went to waste at the Topps manufacturing plant. They distributed many 5th series in a 4th series box with the 5th series sticker on top of the box. They also distributed Series 3 pink packs in Series 2 wax boxes and put a white square sticker on those boxes that says Series 3. Sometimes those come up for auction too.
Hopefully stored in a cool area so no gum issues. I have a dozen grocery store rack packs of Empire Strikes Back series 1 in the wax wrappers but the gum still moves when I jiggle the wax packs so I know they're not stuck.
Really?! Haha! So sorry to bring a few of you so much stress it seems! 😬. I’m a pretty careful person I think… but I get that as a viewer, no one would know that. No boxes were injured during the filming of this video! Worst case scenario… I would have had to open one 🤷🏻♂️ haha
Hi E-dub, just curious, roughly how much did you pay for the BBCE Star Wars Series 1 wax box? Believe they go for around $14K or so, but just wondering. I know non-BBCE Series 1 boxes can go for way less as there’s more risk with getting a tampered box. Just wondering. Thanks
I can tell you that this is approximately what I paid as well… although it’s a little cloudy, since I bought the whole series (Series 1, 2, 3, 4, and two boxes of 5) together as a bundle. So, I can’t straight up tell you for sure what I paid for that box in particular. I definitely wanted to get them BBCE sealed though. I know nothing is guaranteed, but it’s the next best thing to not being tampered with. Thanks for watching and asking!
Hello! E-dub Rippin'Stuff I know someone that collected Star Wars cards back in the 70s, and he would like to know, do they still hold any value because they are not in mint condition? And if they do hold value, where can he find a good reputable trustworthy collector to sell some of his Star Wars cards to?
Well Cornell… I am NO expert… but you are just asking for my opinion. Even with “value” being such a subjective thing, I would still say yes. They do hold value. As far as singles, there are probably +/- 5 cards in every set that are the marquee cards to have. As a general rule though, I would say that having the complete set would be the best way to get some monetary return, if the cards are not in great condition. Sending them to a grading service is probably not worth it, if he does not think the cards will get at least an 8. This seems tougher and tougher to do these days. The graders are getting tougher on these cards these days… at least at PSA they are. As far as a trusted buyer, I have not had any bad luck yet with getting scammed on eBay. That is primarily how I acquire my cards (buy and sell). I am also a part of quite a few Facebook groups. I have yet to purchase through Facebook, but it seems like many do. Anyway, those are my thoughts’. If I can help any further, let me know! Thanks
I looked up bbce on RUclips and every video was talking about them in a negative way . Are they considered a legitimate company or is it just a bunch of crap RUclips people talking bad ?
